shadowheart Posted December 4, 2015 Hi, for your girls with buns, do you have problems with her hair coming out of her buns? it's hard to explain so I'll use saber for example Saber has hair tied to her back, imagine that some of her hair got loose (not entirely) and it just become a curve bump, (Hope I make sense here) and sometime you can't push the loose hair back into the bun for some reason, do anyone have any problem with this? and how do you deal with it? medalis Posted December 4, 2015 I don't have anyone with a bun in my collection, but I do have some cosplaying experience. What it sounds like is that her hair isn't fastened correctly. That might be the way that DD does it, as they assume people won't be messing with her hair much, but it's not the way to keep it in that shape forever, especially if she's more active than they expected. In cosplay, we do a thing called 'stubbing.' It's parting the wig into two pieces that can be handled separately, and then clipped together before wearing. The actual act of stubbing refers to the main portion of the wig, the part worn directly on the head, and the act of cutting some hair off, wrapping it into a 'ponytail,' and then gluing the fudge outta that stub to make a solid base that the second part can be attached to. Then the second piece can be worked with as needed, taken off for detail work and solidifying, and then attached for photoshoots and double checks. From what I'm hearing, it sounds like the weft of hair that attaches the bun to the main wig is coming loose and bunching up underneath the bun's weight. I don't know how DD wigs are structured, especially specialty wigs like that, but, if I were you, I'd buy another wig in a similar colour and try to stub it, ala the cosplay way. That way you don't damage the original wig. Anna-neko Posted December 5, 2015 I know exactly what you mean and it drives me nuts!! Unlike your own hair there's just no easy way to redo the entire wig Especially since what they do with wigs is have the main part end with a stubby tail and then any ponytails or braids/buns are simply sewn over it What i do with my Saber's wig is wet my fingers and gently brush the fly-aways back into place. Then if it looks more or less better, then go over that part with either watered down glue or hairspray to hold it down
