Yoona Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Hello everyone! I've been lurking for a short while on these forums but decided to join after purchasing my very first ball jointed doll - Danny Choo's Smart Doll Mirai It's still on it's way to my place - I can't wait for it to arrive! missadventure364 Posted December 11, 2015 Hi and welcome to the forums! Congratulations on getting your first doll! I don't own a Smart Doll myself but they are very pretty, and I've thought about purchasing one before. Everyone is different with their dolls and what they like to do with them. Lots of people like to customize them as their favorite characters *some scary,as you said* and others like to take pictures, ect. What are your plans for your new girl? Just a warning though, once you start buying dolls it's really difficult to stop!

Just a warning though, once you start buying dolls it's really difficult to stop! Hi missadventure!^^ and thank you for the welcome! I'm not entirely sure yet on my plans for my Smart Doll but I am definitely going to be making clothes and accessories for her! I already got her in the mail (it was quite fast - or at least it seemed fast to me ) and she's just lovely! She's also quite a bit larger than I expected - but in a good way I recorded myself unboxing her and I'm editing the video now which I'll upload to Youtube later on (major props to any Youtubers out there - taking the time to record, edit, upload is not easy at all esp. if you're picky and want to make it good quality!). I'm so excited to start making stuff! Oh man, I don't know if I'll ever own more dolls even though I'd like to get a male doll I think for her as a companion but we'll see. orlien Posted December 18, 2015 Hi! I'm also new, and also from the west coast. I've adored BJDs since I was in middle school (god, that was a long time ago), and now that I've graduated college and have a little bit of disposable income, I'm getting my first one! I'm super excited! I'm planning on assembling a dollfie dream from option parts, using a DDH 09 head and a regular body. At home: DDH-09 (Ryoko), blue DDH-01 MDD (Aoko), DDH-02 MDD (Hikaru)
Sticks-Ara Posted December 21, 2015 Hello there, welcome to the fun side. I live in the OC Area and am new to the hobby this year but I'm learning so many tips from people here, it's great. I myself just got a Dollfie this year too, so I've had so many questions. But I'm having a great time with "Amora" and hope to keep doing so for a long time. Please check out the "Doll Meetup" section. There's going to be two meet & greets for dolls at Anime LA and Little Tokyo later next month. We'd be happy to meet you and it's fun to meet other owners. Please think about it, k??

I haven't been to Anime LA yet although I have friends who used to go and cosplay there (they may be there again this year - I have no idea since I haven't talked to them in a while). I will see about whether or not I can go though - things are a bit busy and I am hoping to start up a small business soon but if I have the extra time and money I would definitely love to meet you all! Please be sure to PM me with details

orlien Posted January 9, 2016 Thanks for the info! I actually live in SF, so I won't be able to make it down to LA. I hope that at some point there will be something in the SF area (I know there was a con in San Jose in Oct '15, but I just missed it!)
