Dollfie Dream 2016 speculation

So every year the last few years, Volks has come up with new variations for DD - new bust and body types, new skin tones, new standard models and heads, improved armature, etc. Anybody want to guess what's in the cards for next year's releases? It'd be fun to speculate and see what comes true!

 

For example, next year we should have the Kagemine Rin and Len preorder. Volks often introduces new features with preorder projects so I'm guessing it's gonna be a new boyish or gender-neutral body type. Whether they release it as a standard version later though is another question.

 

And probably we'll get another standard head or two. I'm thinking they may finally acknowledge the custom/modded DDH-01 market and release a doll with a simple, smooth face for easy customization. And they could possibly release Moe/Natsuki as a standard head or standard model.

 

As for licensed limiteds, for sure we'll see more IdolMaster and probably Tony (Taka) designed girls as dolls again. I wonder if they will do Hestia even though Azone has already announced theirs? That hasn't stopped Volks in the past (see Saber, Rin) and with second season of DanMachi starting soon it's the first license that springs to mind. But I'm not super up on all the anime releases, so I'd like to know what other folks think will happen!

Is it too much to hope for an MDD release? Volks neglects their MDD line so much ;_;

 

In the past some new Volks DD features have been... semi-white skin, SS-busts, one piece torsos and "flat" bust types. A new DD line for Len and maybe even Rin would be interesting, I wonder how far Volks will go in terms of new features for these Vocaloids.

We'll get a lot more outfits for Miku and maybe a new DD Miku. Sakura Miku seems to be the logical next step.

 

I'm wondering if they'll do a new release of ShibuRin with her regular school outfit to match Uzuki & Mio. If they do that, then you can also expect the same to happen with Ranko. We might also see more girls from iM@S CG.

We'll definitely see more Vocaloid outfits, I think--I really really want either Plug Out or Miku Append, but I have a feeling those are the ones we're least likely to see, sigh.

 

Yep, more IM@S is a given. I don't know enough about the series to guess who, though I know there's some tan girl people around here have been pining for Volks to do.

 

You know, it occurred to me: we've had Akihabara Girls on pretty much every body type EXCEPT MDD. Maybe we'll see an MDD release in that vein?

 

I also predict that Volks will continue to fail at having a regular restocking schedule.

Hibiki is the tan girl. Unfortunately, her "degree" of tan varies a lot in the Idolmaster media so I wouldn't be 100% surprised if Volks just made her "normal" skin...

Officially, Hibiki is from Okinawa and most media portray Okinawans as having darker skin (altho one of my friends is Okinawan and she's paler than my Nordic tush, so stereotype foiled!).

 

However, I don't care if they use the worst mold ever for Hibiki, if she's tan, I WILL HAVE HER!!!! RAWR!

Tan skin is a given wish, black skin is a even more obvious wish. Oh, to dream.

I don't know if I'm just a idiot who can't find anything, but it sure seems like Volks doesn't have very many 'anime' wigs in stock. Maybe the plain long ones in the most basic of colours are what they count as their stock, but, hey, non-limited wacky hairstyles would be lovely.

More eyes are a given. I'm, personally, hoping for more metallics, and maybe some new colours.

I would love to see volks put out another tan girl, or maybe give the option for tan skin parts or something. It's a given for sure everyone wants it lol, but will volks deliver depends on what the fans in japan are about.

 

I know I would kill for a chance to custom build a Mave-chan MDD though.

Idk why but I get the feeling they may have a Kantai Collection girl thrown in there at some point? I heard they're going to release a movie and they confirmed a second season with figures still coming out for a while. And they did make Shimikaze into a Neemo, but idk if that's a good or bad sign because I remember someone saying something about that but I don't remember what? But if they did this, I'd be all aboard for Yamato but Akagi and Kongo wouldn't hurt too bad either.

 

EDIT: Nvm thought on my question more and figured out they could sell the battleship parts separate from the dolls themselves like they do with the optional outfit sets but it's more of an accessory than an outfit?

Was the shimakaze pure neemo even that popular? I thought she would have been, but I constantly see her on amiami preowned and other second hand places for huge discounts. She was about 50% off last time I saw her - granted this only bought her to the price of a regular pure neemo since she cost twice as much normally for some reason (surely those gun turret things can't add that much to the price). And pure neemos costing less than their RRP second hand is pretty rare.

 

I'm wondering how likely an official Cardcaptor Sakura would be, given how gung-ho merchandisers have been about the anniversary.

More Persona girls would be cool! Aigis would be a really cool concept for a doll, esp since Volks released KOS-MOS.

A Telos would be perfect but I doubt they will revisit the franchise.

Everytime I see your profile pic I think "ah my kingdom for an Aria themed Dollfie release." I would buy the entire cast, and my wallet would shriek in agony.

I'd love to see Shion, but I'm doubtful she will ever be released. I'm in the middle of making a custom Shion. I want her to go with my Kos-Mos pretty badly.

 

T-Elos would be awesome as a "tanned" DD. There have been a lot of Kos-Mos figure and toy releases, and she has topped lists of greatest female game characters. Sadly the rest of the Xenosaga cast was less popular. I saw Shion on a list of worst female game characters awhile back, and they ripped into her pretty badly in the write-up. I liked her though.

2016 wish :

- rise will get rerelease as p4dan ver (its quite possible since they havent announce the winner of DD (and mdd) line of the 15th aniversary poll)

- dd p5 ann takamaki (pleaseee!!)

- mdd / dds iori with her signature blinking expresion

I would love to see them shift out of the Love Live!, IDOLM@STER, & VOCALOID phase.

For 2016 i heard some stories about volks come with some Sailor Moon project, i see this gossip in a group on Facebook in the middle of this last year, but i don't remember witch one. I would love if this happen. Don't get me wrong, i Love Hatsune Miku(mine will arrive soon), but volks could bring just one doll and sale the outfits separately. This could be more easy for us to get all them. I wish a tan dollfie and also a boy, buuut we need wait and see what they will bring for us!
