Shizusan Posted December 11, 2015 So in my normal photoblog a member has asked if i can post some pictures of the 3 Piece Suit at different angles. I figured sure why not, but as I was doing it I figured why not show off some shots of how its made, materials, and fit. So with further ado, here we go. First off, Mirai & Kizuna (obviously) has volunteered to model these shots. So the first couple shots are just of the suit itself as worn at different angles. Next here are some shots of the jacket open/hanging. now some shots without the jacket. I'm not sure about you guys but at first I didn't know that it was a sleeveless blouse. Sort of disappointed in that cause i was hoping for a full blouse. Also since its made to fit all bust sizes the blouse is big. you can see in these shots that its rather roomy. Both my Mirai & Kizuna are default S bust so as Danny-san has said "the jacket can be buttoned". However because its "Bigger" in size for the blouse. buttoning up the jacket will create bunching in the shirt and won't look nice. Your going to have to pinch the back of the blouse while trying to button the jacket so that it looks nice and not bunchy. Without the jacket on it won't have that usual tight fitting/showing off the curves look. Obviously, adding the jacket with make it look more form fitting. So, here is how the blouse is closed, there are 3 velcro strips to close it up. Wished it was eye hooks with multiple loops for fit adjustment but velcro it is. Kizuna is surprisingly ok with showing off a bit of skin today Next are a couple of shots of the pants. How its closed and fits. No gripes here its all good. haha Lastly here are some shots of the jacket, and if you didn't notice it before here is a close up shot of the actual material, which I can only describe as canvas. It looks and feels the same as the material I made my couch cushions out of. Since this is a Suit and Danny-san has said that he wants his dolls to have the same material as a human would wear I expected some form of suit material like wool or poly whatevers lol. Ladies help me out here, are there suits like this made for you in this material? I want to say its a linen suit but the material is a little rougher to be linen which is why I say canvas but hey, I could be totally wrong (Guy brain, I don't know fashion well) So all in all, I still really like this suit despite the gripes I mentioned earlier. Both Mirai & Kizuna look fantastic with it and I believe they will wear it most of the winter haha at least when they aren't wearing their Tora Kigurumi's If you guys want any other shots of this outfit let me know. Till then enjoy!
medalis Posted December 11, 2015 So jealous. I really want to get the suit despite it being out of my budget, and my skills with a sewing machine enough to make one for myself for the same price as a doll sized one. I'm surprised that Choo-san didn't line the jackets, honestly. That might have given the top a bit too much bulk for him to like the look of it, but it's just a little touch to hide the obvious tucks and darts along the side. The material isn't linen. It's got too obvious of a weave for that, and linen makes for a shoddy suit material due to how it wrinkles. It's too thin to be a proper canvas, given that I can see the seams through the back of the jacket with some measure of ease. It sounds like it might be a cotton duct, which is like canvas but thinner like linen, tightly woven and fairly durable. Polyester suit materials don't lend themselves to smaller clothing very well due to the way they unweave; either that, or I need to stop being cheap and buy good material. Monty Posted December 11, 2015 I was the one who asked! Thank you - they look really great. I'm actually relieved its a sleeveless blouse because putting jackets on over long sleeved tops on dolls is incredibly difficult. (at least it is for my 1/6 ones; I literally have to use tweezers to pull the shirt sleeve through the jacket and its a huge pain) I'm curious if it would fit Eiji. Luckily, the CJ store has dressable mannequins that you're allowed to play around with so I guess I'll find out easily enough. *twitter*instagram*art*
baldylox Posted December 12, 2015 Even tho it has some drawbacks, I still think that overall the suit setup looks really good on your girls! Thank you VERY much for doing this photo break down for us! We don't get to see such in depth shots often so it's super nice to have these! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
