Finished DDH-01 available to DD Compilation Customers

As Galvatim mentioned earlier, Volks USA is offering a Finished DDH-01 to those purchasing the Dollfie Dream Compilation book.

The book has instructions on how to paint a blank DDH-01 to get this faceup. If you don't want to do it yourself, then you can get the head already finished.

Even tho I ordered the books already, I cant afford this head. I'd like to have it but no extra money and no body for it just makes it unrealistic right now.

 

Ah well, maybe something else will come along when my sister trades up bodies on Tsubaki.

That is exciting that Tsubaki will get a new body...and sad that you won't get this head. Do you think Tsubaki wants a DDdy body? Or will she stick with the M-bust base body?

My sister was adamant about Tsubaki being an M bust girl. While she loves Yoko and Manami, Tsubaki is meant to be a reflection of her so she wanted the M bust so as not to be out of proportion. So she'll get a replacement DDII body with the M bust around May if we stick to the plan like Mom said. She wants to do the upgrade as a B-day present for Amy. So that will work out well for her and me.

 

When I get the original DDI body back, I can then think about what I want to do for a head for her. It'll prolly be a 01 head but I am not positive yet. I had been thinking about an 03 head since I do not have a girl with that head yet.

That would be pretty cool, Baldylox! Though ultimately, it's up to you . And, while I admit a certain fondness for the L, I think it's cool that Tsubaki is staying with the M, since that's what my Aoi-chan has!

 

 

I'm seriously thinking about the painted DDH-01, either on DDdy or MDD...

Actually...there is a how-to article in the book about how to do that very faceup. I'm seriously thinking of busting out for a blank DDH-01 head and painting along with the how-to article. It will likely not look EXACTLY like the head in the book, but it will be a learning experience, and it will be uniquely mine. Then when Namiko gets her DDS or Obitsu 50cm body the DDH-01 will no longer be a floating head.

Altho that isn't an actual plan, it does sound very appealing. I guess that's why I was drawn to the 03 head for Rei's DDI body. I guess when it gets closer to the tmie for the body swap, I'll see what I feel like. Maybe this time I'll get input from the girls and see what THEY think about it.

Well, that choice is all up to my sister. When I talked to her a while ago about getting a DD, she said she would want one with a "normal" sized chest. When she saw Rei, she told me that was the size she wanted. So that's why I made the decision to give her Rei's DDI body with a custom head. Had she said she wanted an L bust or DDdy girl, things would have gone differently. And since the old DDI body can't swap out torsos, the new girl will stay an M bust as well..... whenever I get that body back.

 

I agree that the L bust is really well done. The shape and size is much more realistic than the DDdy ones. But since I love anime so much, the proportions of the DDdy and how they look in clothing really make them my favorites. I also think that since Manami was my first daughter, her being a DDdy has a lot to do with my likes/dislikes.

Oh, sorry for the confusion, I meant if you had different headsculpts for all you daughters. I already bought a 2nd DDH-02, (waiting for warmer weather to do the faceup), so I guess Aoi will have a twin sister.

 

The DDdy does look quite nice... I'm planning to pick up a DDdy body after I get my tax return.

That sounds awesome, Galvatim! Aoi with a twin will be so cute! The DDdy is lots of fun. There are lots of clothes Volks releases just for that body type.

The more I think about it, the more I want to get to work on Aoi's twin! I'm thinking she'll be blonde, and have a bit of a smirk. Being DDdy would be an interesting contrast to Aoi too...

Lol! Yeah, the girls love to play with all my toys... Lucklily they haven't seen what's in the basement.

 

I used to be a seriously hardcore Transformers collector, I had about 800 at one point. I've lost interest, due in part to not liking the last movie, and partly cause I found more enjoyable things to buy. So rather than leave them unloved, rotting in my basement, I think it's time to find those Transformers new homes.

That's very sweet of you, I hope so too! I gave a bunch of Star Wars figures to my young cousins, they really loved them! I want to give them some more, I just need to talk with my aunt and uncle first, and make sure I don't give them too much.

I think it's hilarious how Galvatim and I share such similar backgrounds on collecting. We both collect DD's now and we both used to collect Star Wars and Transformers!

 

I still have all the SW stuff here tho, I didn't sell all of it off. But I did sell all my TF's years ago to fund my wedding. ( Which really sucks since I got divorced less than 2 years after that ) I had every TF from Gen 1 all metal figures up until the wave where the Seacons came out. I really liked my Transformers.

That's too bad, Baldylox! You could have gotten to much DD stuff instead of a wedding. They are so expensive! It sounded like you had a bunch of wonderful Transformers too. I hope they are having a great time with their new owners. I think my brother still has lots of his old Transformers. They were so cool. I really liked the Seacons' crazy color schemes.

Well, the TF's were sold way back in early 2000. At the time, I really didn't *want* to sell them but we had to in order to pay for most of the wedding. Since I figured I'd be with this girl the rest of my life, it wasn't a huge loss. Had I known then what I know now, things would have been different. Good old hindsight being 20/20 and all.

 

At least i kept a few of my faves form the group so I do have those. I kept the original Optimus Prime, Jetfire, Sky Lynx and all five Dinobots. No way would I sell those guys off.

 

You're right.... the money I got from the TF's would have gotten loads of DD stuff. I wanna say I made well over $3500 on all of them. That's almost two Sabers!

 

Some of the old color schemes were nuts. The Seacons were just silly and the Predacons were over the top in size and color too. I miss the Decepticon CIty, Trypticon. He was HUGE and also was a giant walking T-Rex. Man was he cool.

I acaully sold off my vintage Transformers collection about the same time you did, Baldylox! Along with my GI Joe collection. I miss the Cobra Raven, that thing was awesome...

 

Trypticon, the Predacons... Man, you must have had quite the G1 collection! My Decepticon forces were totally lame, the best ones I had were Soundwave and Scourge. My mom wouldn't let me get any of the ones that turned into guns, like Megatron, Shockwave, and even Galvatron! The Autobots, on the other hand, included Optimus, Rodimus, Jetfire, Ultra Magnus and Powermaster Optimus.

 

Last year I sold all my live action Transformers movie toys, and got about $400. I'm selling my Armada, Energon, and Cybertron series Transformers, and I'm hoping to get around $1000. S I should be easily able to get this DDH-01 head and a DDdy body. Maybe I'll get one of those poor Mius off Volks International too...

That's why I liked the Seacons color schemes. They were ridiculous pastels. The Predacons were too monochromatic for me. I love the Dinobots though!

Not to toot my own horn but I sold off almost every Star Wars toy I owned in order to buy more Transformers. I hit yardsales with all my stuff to sell off and also mowed yards and stuff to make extra cash for TF's. I seriously owned EVERY G1 released up to the Seacons wave. And I do mean ALL of them. Even the stupid mailin ones like the camera, Reflector and all the cassettes like Ramhorn and Steeljaw and the Decepticon ones that merged 2 tapes into one figure. Those were cool. So I actually bought all these at retail with my own money. Even Scorponok. That has another huge b1tch.

I do hope your sales go well and that you can get the above mentioned things. Like Mitsuki, I am in on the "Save Miu from Volks Int." A good friend of mine *just* did the same thing. He got one for his GF's birthday and she has to wait until May until she gets it. He already has Miu at home but the GF has no idea about it. He plans on having his other DD's hold little cards giving her directions on a treasure hunt in his house with Miu at the end. That guy is gonna be getting so many brownie points for this, it's unreal.
