Finished DDH-01 available to DD Compilation Customers

Ha ha! I'm glad you like the treasure hunt idea because he stole it from ME!

 

He was asking me how to go about giving it to her and said he may do like I did to my sister.... give her a smaller box with a stand in it first and watch the face as it sinks in.

 

I told him to please go ahead with that if he wanted to. Then I gave him some other ideas and he went with the treasure hunt aspect which I also think is great.

 

By the way, this is Ed I'm talking about. D'Ann was wanting a Yoko but when she saw Miu online, she really liked her too. So Ed found one at Volks US site and got her quickly. And what's even funnier about all this is that D'Ann's B-day is ONE DAY beyond my sisters! My sister is a few years older but its still funny how similar things can be between people.

LOL, I sold them off, then a year later I started rebuying them, after the fire truck Optimus Prime came out. I'm keeping my vintage and reissue TFs this time. I spent like two years getting all five Predacons to build Predaking.

 

Not to toot my own horn but I sold off almost every Star Wars toy I owned in order to buy more Transformers. I hit yardsales with all my stuff to sell off and also mowed yards and stuff to make extra cash for TF's. I seriously owned EVERY G1 released up to the Seacons wave. And I do mean ALL of them. Even the stupid mailin ones like the camera, Reflector and all the cassettes like Ramhorn and Steeljaw and the Decepticon ones that merged 2 tapes into one figure. Those were cool. So I actually bought all these at retail with my own money. Even Scorponok. That has another huge b1tch.

 

Oh man, that is awesome! Scorponok! So cool! My parents just bought me Gi Joes or cheap Transformers, like the throttlebots. I had like 3 of the protectobots, including Hotspot, and used two Airialbots to finish Defensor. I built Megatron and Shockwave out of Construx too. They were parts-formers, but they turned into guns...

 

 

I do hope your sales go well and that you can get the above mentioned things. Like Mitsuki, I am in on the "Save Miu from Volks Int." A good friend of mine *just* did the same thing. He got one for his GF's birthday and she has to wait until May until she gets it. He already has Miu at home but the GF has no idea about it. He plans on having his other DD's hold little cards giving her directions on a treasure hunt in his house with Miu at the end. That guy is gonna be getting so many brownie points for this, it's unreal.

 

That's a great gift your friend is giving and a great way to give Miu to his GF!

 

I'm hoping to sell my figs on consignment a a local store called the Toybox. They had lots of military themed stuff, GI Joe, airsoft guns, and quite a few vintage figures for sale.

I was unable to order the DD Compilation, dammit. I was at a doll meet yesterday, and when I got home and got on the lappie it was already sold out. (headdesk.)

It went sold out VERY QUICKLY. I was in front of the computer at the time. After I put the compilation book in the cart, together with one other item (I had them open before the start time even). Enter my name/address, finish entering the credit card information and hit submit order. Bang! the compilation book is out of stock and they don't allow me to order already. That's how fast it was sold out. Well then I just turned around and ordered from Volks International. I didn't want the head anyway I just wanted the compilation book. As it turned out, ordering from Volks International costs only a little more and nearly identical in shipping if I'm in Canada.

Well Volks US does serve US, Canada and Mexico. But none the less I am sure the quantity that Volks US got is pretty low. It's bad for those who wanted the finished DDH-01 I guess. But for those just want the DD compilation book, Volks International is always a choice.

I did get both the DD Compilation book and the carrying bag from Volks USA. It was strange though... It seemed like the order buttons went live at 11 AM Pacific/1PM central, but if I tried adding them to my cart, it said they weren't in stock. After about five minutes, I was able to get them. Odd, and a little annoying, I had to be at work at 1:30.

Yep it was like that for me as well. I'm sure that's because they updated the web site to add the Add to cart button first but didn't update the stock system to increase the stock count. So by the time they updated stock count in about a few minutes, then it can be put to cart. But yeah your guys/gals are all so much faster than me. I failed even though I did put it in the cart hahahaaaa...

This is what happened to me. I was so upset and my husband said to refresh and when I did, the add to cart button appeared. I grabbed them both and checked out quickly.

I was online at 1:30 PM Eastern time on Saturday and I had *just* remembered about the books being available at 2pm. So I got the computer up and running and then checked some emails. One thing led to another and I *totally* forgot about the books! I went on doing other things around the house until about 4pm when I realized that I had forgotten about the books.

 

This really infuriated me because I wanted to get 2 books to give as gifts to friends of mine. I would be so upset if I couldn't get them.... so I headed to Volks to see what could be done.

 

Surprisingly, I went to the direct page that showed the book and I clicked "add to cart". It went right thru. I changed the quantity to 2 and then chose UPS Ground as the shipment type. That went thru. It then asked for my payment info and that went thru. I then recieved a confirmation number and it said I'd get an email soon. And I did. So I was happy.

 

Later I talked with a friend and they told me about the whole "One per customer" thing that I didn't even see! She said that my order would prolly get cancelled since I tried for 2 books. I was ready to cry.

 

So today at work, I thought about it and hoped I'd see something good when I got home. I checked my confirmation email and hit the link to see what the status of the order was. I was really figuring on seeing a nice fat CANCELLED logo somewhere in there.

 

But lo and behold, nothing of the sort. I still had a confirmation number and even a link to the UPS site for delivery confirmation! Their website says I should recieve the shipment on Monday Feb 14th, Valentines Day! Now the Volks site does NOT say the order status is shipped yet and I have not recieved an email that says it's been shipped. But all signs are pointing to my 2 books being set aside and ready to be shipped!

 

So I am hoping the Dollfie Gods have shined their love down on me yet again and made this happen for me. I would love to have them both show up so I can give them to their new owners. I suppose time will tell and I'll keep seeing what the Volks page and UPS pages say starting tomorrow.

I wonder if Volks restocked a few books a couple hours after the initial sale. Maybe they are trying to let people have a chance to order. But if they don't say they are going to do that, no one will know to keep trying to order the book. I hope everything goes as planned for you, Baldylox.

I didn't know there was a limit! I only ordered one book though. Honestly, I've had much worse ordering experences on other sites, (Matty Collector... shudder) I just wasn't on the ball last Saturday...

Well, I *just* got my Volks email confirming shipping dates and times for the two books!

 

I'm so glad it worked out. Mitsuki, this means you'll have your book! That makes me very happy.....

You are most welcome! I just checked the Volks site and UPS says that the package was picked up and is in transit. Volks status shows as shipped. I am supposed to get them on Monday Feb 14th. I'll let you know when they arrive and when yours gets mailed out.

Just an FYI for those interested/missed out on the DDH-01 head that was possible to order with the DD compilation. I have two on order and depending on how I feel about the face-up when she comes I may have an extra one available. I'll most likely eBay it and promise I will provide information when/if I do. It's nice to know that there's a back-up plan too and that there's likely another chance to pick her up if your heart was set on her. ^^

 

I think I am going to make here into an MDD or order a different body for Kaguya! She'll need a new wig too.... argggg. $$$$$$.
