Devil Homura for christmas

I was about to get the miku dd, but when I discovered this beautiful maiden that is devil homura, I just had to have her. She's 1/3 scale like the dollfies, but she's from a different company (specifically hybrid active figure) anyways what do you think? I don't think I'm able to post images or links here

You know that, since you're gonna get a Homura, you have to get a bunch of Madoka minifigures for her right? Tiny plushies, tiny bodypillows, etc etc. It'll be adorable.

Great idea though! Well I have a kyuubey minifig so that can work for now. She's still in the pre-order stage but is releasing this month so its certainly gonna make for a good holiday present

This Devil Hormura (http://www.dollyinsider.com/devil-homura-azone-doll/) is from Azone International. Azone's Hybrid Active Figures use the Obitsu 50cm body, usually with custom heads and occasionally other custom body parts.

Welcome to the dark side of Vinyl. The Obitsu body has some perks but it also has some derps and if you happen to stumble upon any of them feel free to ask here and all of us (myself included) who have been darkened by the Obi50 and its kin will be all too happy to help you sort them out.

 

Good luck finding clothes for her outside of what Azone and Parabox make specifically to suit. The Obitsu body lives in the seedy backwater somewhere between MSD and SD size. If you have an S-bust like me (which Homura is), you'll have a MSD sized bust and a big fat almost SD-sized booty to try fit clothing over.

Homura's not fat! . . though I do admit she does have a surprisingly generous amount of booty. MSD sized shirts and dresses are good to go; my normal-version Homura's in an MSD Dollheart Fer right now and looks fabulous in it.

 

When she comes in, would you mind taking photos and/or explaining how those wings attach? I opted to make the devil getup from scratch for my own Homura, and the wings are one of the things I'm a little stuck on.

Yea I might be able to do that. I finally have enough money to buy her, so Im just waiting for her to get released this month. This is probably gonna be my first doll, but it may also possibly be my last I think because buying this one alone took a lot to save up for. Modern doll carrying bags are easy enough to find, but if you want a genuine Rozen-maiden style carry bag you may need to investigate making one yourself. Not that hard with some basic materials, I made one for my doll which owes me about $40 including the vintage suitcase I got off gumtree.

 

 

Oh and get ready to start saving for extra clothing. A girl can't live with just one set.

Beautiful case! Hmm wat type of clothing can fit her? I'm actually loving the dress she already have, but I might need to get more . Poofiemus mentioned msd size, so can that work? And does azone hybrid active needs maintenance as well?

Azone make a line of their own clothing that is tailored to suit the Obitsu body, which can be bought at places like AmiAmi and HobbyLink Japan (search Azone 50 for some results, you may find more with creative searching). Do not buy from Ebay.

 

Parabox also makes clothing to suit Obitsu bodies.

 

As for MSD size it can be a hit or miss afair due to the umbrella term nature of doll sizing. You can search for msd sized clothing and compare the sizes of the model in the stock photo (most good sellers will list this info) and compare to your doll for expected fit

 

As for maintenance, besides dusting the body is generally low maintenance. You may need to tighten some joints if you play with her a large amount.

Ebay can be a fruitful source particularly for handmade clothing. But it takes a bit more work making sure you're buying items that will fit.

Hobby Search also retails Azone and Obitsu items. They also have a Fashion Doll news letter so you can see what's coming out (and pre-order it!).

Ebay is also the home of scalers; and doll scalpers are some of the worst ones out there. A quick search of a certain known scalper's store reveals clothing items I bought for ~1,200JPY being sold for $USD50. At least there's free shipping?!

 

Mandarake sometimes has good stuff on sale but you often gotta be quick on the trigger to get in-demand items.
