Merry Christmas - A Pure Neemo Photo Story

I really enjoy looking at a lot of the photo stories here and they really inspired me to think more about how I view my own dolls and what their personalities are like. I'd been wanting to try a photo story with them for a while, so decided christmas would be a good opportunity. I was actually surprised how much I learned about their characters.

Background: This photo story has all 8 members of my pure neemo army, although mainly concerns the Ex Cutes (the other four are the 'custom kids' who are mostly characters from my webcomic plus Waver Velvet from Fate/Zero. Those 4 were here first, and have been since 2012, but for the EX Cutes it's their first christmas with me. )

The Ex Cutes retained their original azone names except for my magical boy Yuta, who became Shuya since I already had a Yuta at that point. They're twins but their personalities are different.

One day...

Aika: There's nothing here at all! Those custom kids lied to us, they said there'd be 'something really cool' right here at this time of year!

Aota: -looks around-

Shuya: ...where's Yuta? I'm worried....

Aika: Can you believe them, Shuya?! I bet they just wanted to send us off on a wild goose chase for kicks. Is that kind of a rudeness an obitsu hybrid thing?

Shuya: ...it's dangerous out here...there's those two monsters prowling around, a-and...

[he's talking about my cats]

Aoto:Hey, what about behind here?

Aika: UNbelievable. Do you think that Adelaide one was just angry at me for trying on all her clothes? Can I help it if they look better on me? What a lame prank!

Shuya: Y-yuta....where did you go..I want to go home...

Aoto: Woah! Guys! Hey! Guys! I found something!!

Aoto: Look, it's a shiny thing! It's pretty cool! Maybe this is what they meant!

Shuya: ..huh?

Aika: Are you KIDDING me?! We came all the way here for THAT?! Arggh, those custom hicks really are impressed by anything, arent they?!

Aoto: Let's take it back with us!

Shuya: ...what is it? -touch-

Voice: I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED!

Aoto: yo what

Shuya: YUTA?!

Yuta: Christmas time! Christmas time! You've summoned the Christmas Elf!

Shuya: Yuuuutaaaaa! It's really scary down there, come here! D:

Aoto: Hey Yuta! We found a cool thing!

Yuta: Who is this Yuta? I'm the Christmas Elf and I came to show you something cool! Watch this!

 

There is a flash of light, and then...

 

Aika:...how'd you do that? What's all that green stuff?

Yuta: I'm a christmas elf, I can do anything!

Aoto: Yo, Yuta! Where'd you get that outfit?

Shuya: ...these are Aika's boots.

Shuya: Yuta, what's going on...?

Aoto: I wanna wear it, I wanna wear it...!

Yuta:I-I told you, I’m not Yuta, I’m a Christmas elf! Now, let’s begin!

Yuta: CHRISTMAAAAAS POOOOWEERRRR!

Aoto: T-TREEEEEEE!!!!!

Aika: Oh! That’s impressive.

Shuya: I can’t even do that with my magic...

Yuta: ...huh? Somethings not right. That’s not how its meant to look...

Yuta: ...I thought if I wore this Christmas elf costume I’d get much stronger magic than this!

Shuya: So you are Yuta...it’s okay, my magic couldn’t do anything like make a big tree appear, I think it’s really cool...!

Yuta: Nooo but it’s meant to be really, really cool!

voice: I believe I was meant to help with this part.

Yuta: Oooh that’s right!! Christmas Elf #2!

Shuya:...#2.. ?

Canberra: A big job like this can’t be done by a single Christmas elf after all. That’s where I come in.

Canberra: I have everything we need in here.

Yuta: Yaaaay!

Shuya: Is that...?

Canberra: whup.

Yuta: Sparkly, sparkly!

Shuya: Ooooh...-his eyes sparkle like the tinsel-

Canberra: aaand that should be all we need of this.

Aika: H-how is that possible...

Yuta: Yaaaay team Christmas Elf!

Shuya: w-well...I have a magical bag too after all.

Canberra: I’m going to need all of you to help with the next part.

 

The tree decorating commences!

Aika: The gold stuff on first, right?

Aoto: It’s sooo shiny!!

Shuya: I like the silver balls on this one...I can see my face in them!

Yuta: Silver bells, silver bells! String em up, string em up!

Canberra: Icicles in December...To think that’s normal in some parts of the world. At least they’re pretty.

Aoto: There’s these big ones as well! Can we take one home too?! Can we?!

Aika:...I heard these ones are very old and special. I feel bad for the broken ones, but we should stick the ones that are okay on the tree as well. I think they’d like that.

Yuta: And the three most important parts of Christmas are here!

 

at last...

Yuta: -whew-

Shuya: Waaa, it’s really pretty!

Aoto: It’s SO COOOOOL!!

Aika: It’s not bad, I guess...

Canberra: (Where are the others...?)

Yuta: Are you ready, Christmas Elf #2? We have to do this part together.

Canberra: Oh, right.

Canberra/Yuta: CHRISTMAS POOOOWERRRR!

The rest: !!!

Aoto: Aren’t you glad we came, sis?

Aika: ...

Shuya: Yuta, Yuta, it’s so pretty! –giggle-

Canberra: THERE you are.

Melbourne: Hey. Did we miss much?

Canberra: Were you really trying to get out of doing any work?

Adelaide: What an accusation! I simply didn’t know last years tree had broken.

Canberra: Well, you’re just in time for the group photo.

Waver: Group photo? With those Ex Cutes? The ones that get all the attention? –grumble-

Yuta: Is everyone ready for the group photo?

Aika: ...sorry I called you a ‘custom hick’.

Adelaide:... I beg your pardon...?

Aoto: IT’S SOOO COOOOL!

Shuya: -is too shy to talk to the custom kids he’s barely been introduced to-

Melbourne: Waver, will you sit properly?!

Waver: I would if I didn’t have to sit on the edge like this! How can there possibly be this many of us now?! None of these Ex Cute guys were here a year ago!!

Canberra: ...doesn’t look like it.

Doing my first photo story was pretty fun! I never really intended there to be such a gulf between the custom dolls and the Ex Cutes but it kind of turned out that way – it’s mainly because the custom ones are in a display case on my shelf since they’re more delicate, while the Ex Cutes all hang out on my desk and thus they don’t interact much. It’s true that the Ex Cutes get a lot more attention though, but to tell the truth they weren’t even really meant to occupy the same ‘universe’. I guess anything goes with dolls, really. (the ‘feud’, if it can be called that, is helped all the more by there being equal numbers on both sides)

This time last year I only had my customs and was still waiting on Yuta to finally ship to me, so it’s kind of amazing to me how many I have now. I can’t wait to see what dolls I have for a Christmas photo story next year – maybe I’ll even have a DD by then
