DD plans for 2016?

I hope it's okay for me to continue Minty's thread!

It was my first year as a dollfie dream owner, everything was so exciting!

My 2015 Plans were so naive and modest..

Hmm... maybe buying another DD. ☑ (Yes, 3 )

But before that, I'd buy my little Mayu some clothings and wigs and try everything on. ☑ (Bought Melty before buying more clothes, but yeah...)

Buying from taobao myself would be another plan, I never bought something with a proxy. ☐ (still don't have the courage for it, buuuuut I bought via proxy from y!a, half a point!)

Saving for a good camera would be the next step I take. ☑ (nothing to say here! got a quite good one )

3,5 out of 4! Not bad!

 

I even striked goals that I didn't know I would have:

Getting more than 1 Dollfie

Getting more than one Grail

Entering and Winning Volks Lottery for a Doll

Getting a Fullset Doll (2x)

Buying from Yahoo! Auctions

Stacking Dollfie boxes nicely

Getting a Semi-White Girl

For 2016 my plans are:

 

• 
  - Having some Doll friends..
  - Buying Melty's Outfits. I need them! I want her as a fullset too..
  - Getting Ranka's other Outfits
  - Buying a body for Mayu ☑ (July 2016 strike)
  - Buying some SWS Hands
  - More Wigs, Eyes, Clothes.. ☑ (January 2016 strike)
  - Not missing an Outfit Collection from Volks if I like it ☑ (February 2016 strike)
  - The Proxy thingy with Taobao☑ (May 2016 strike)
  - Getting another grail?
  - Start sewing..
  - Improving photography
  - Remodel our living room into my photoroom mekka (we are not using it anyways)
  - Rewriting my doll histories and updating with pictures

 

 

Wow, that's way more than last time.. haha!

 

So what are your plans for 2016?

2016 Goals

1. Bodies. I have two heads that need bodies. This is priority.

2. Figure out what to do with Miku. Miku... the one that dragged me into this hobby and I don't know what eye/hair combo to give her. It's mainly because I'm waiting on her twin to arrive next year and I can't seem to commit to a hair colour, style, eye colour or anything for them yet.

3. Successfully obtain the Ribbon Girl outfit for said Miku whenever it's released. Possibly hunt down a second one too, because twins.

4. Get some shelves/make space for more girls. I bought some sofas for them to sit on, which is great, but the sofas took up most of the shelf and now I have no room for when the two girls, that need bodies, actually get bodies.

5. Get another bin for their clothes and reorganize the current bins.

6. Buy them some more shoes.

I'm hoping to just finish the girls I have; two still need outfits and a couple need some adjustments to wigs and small parts, maybe. Though I'm sure I'll end up getting more girls, as I already have various plans brewing.

 

Trying to save money though; I really need to get some stuff done around my house and I keep spending on pretties instead. ^^; But I will almost certainly get at least one new girl in 2016.

I finished half of this year's goals, though I still consider it a job well done since the first one was the biggest.

Hmmm, my goals are more replacement oriented rather than new girl oriented. I had to sell so many bodies off last year and I'm still unsure of my ability to rebuild, but I don't want to lose anybody I have home already. As such my goals are like:

 

1.) Buy moar bodies. Even one or two a year, it may take a while but it must be done! Complete, huzzah!

2.) Try not to aquire more heads before I've unfloated all my current heads. Complete, sort of. I sold one head that wasn't working out and aquired my grail head, so it was still the same number of bodies needed.

3.) Make/buy more outfits to rebuild their wardrobe. Some of my girls don't like to share but only have two outfits to their name.  Failed and I've sold even more stuff in order to have them all on bodies too~

4.) Get around to some photostories and introductions that should've happened ages ago. Right now I have a job in retail customer service so I come home exhausted but hopefully after mid January it'll get better. Failedstill in retail, still exhausted

 

My goals for 2016 are small and so should hopefully be achievable.

 

1.) Get new eyes for a few of them.

2.) Rebuild the wardrobe, particularly for those who don't have a single thing that suits their tastes.

3.) Take new profile pictures for my signature once their looks are done being updated.

4.) Catch up on intro pictures, try to take more pictures in general, and get around to actually posting them online.

Well, I half succeeded for my 2015 goals, which were save for Snow Miku and get my custom project Kinuyo going. Snow Miku has all the funds for when she's ready to come home!

 

My goals for 2016:

-Buy new eyes for Suzume (Mariko)

-Buy a new wig for incoming Miku

-Save for bodies for Kinuyo and Fumiko (least likely to happen)

-Clothes for everyone

-Eyes and wig for Fumiko

-New eyes for Kinuyo (???)

-Faceup for Kinuyo

I try not to get *too* attached to doll plans, because sometimes you just don't know what'll happen. You never know what Volks will do, or what will show up second-hand for a killer price when you actually have money, to derail what you thought you were gonna do.

 

However, there are two things that I am determined to do.

 

1. Take TONS of photos with my new camera! Got my first DSLR via Black Friday Amazon sale (Nikon D3300 I named Nikola), and even with the little poking around I've done I can tell it's way better than my dinky old point and shoot. Still, LOTS of learning to be done, which means lots of photos!

 

2. SEWING. This I do have some degree of planning for. . . at least for the girls who are already home.

• Yukata/Yukata-inspired things: Nanoha (traditional), Miku (like the Volks Red Apricot set, but way brighter colors), Agatha (wa-lolita steampunk monstrosity)

• Halloween: Homura (finish her Akuma Homura getup), Miku (Halloween Miku outfit)

• Steampunk: Homura

• Christmas dessert-inspired formalwear: Agatha (candy cane redo), Homura (chocolate blackberry flamenco thing), Miku (green tea ice cream fishtail hanfu)

 

So much to sew. @_@

 

I would like to finally bring Feito-chan home, but that's depending on both funds and whether I can get her at a sane price when I have said funds. . .might depend on what my tax return looks like.

 

. . . and that would mean even more sewing!

 

 

So. . . . on point 1, we have a nice big check. Took LOTS of photos, even if I didn't get around to posting most of them. ^^; I should probably do a retrospective showing some of the best of the year when I get back from my mom's though.

 

On point two. . .NONE of it. Seriously, only just tonight started Miku's xmas outfit, only made some progress on Homura's getup, and. . . that's it, everything else is left undone. Yikes.

 

On the unplanned front, I acquired a Cuartos Darkhorn (repainting him sucked up a chunk of potential sewing time), and the Out of Base head I had in a jar for two years manifested a personality: she's now a sweet-but-morbid child named Abby Normal.

 

So for this year:

 

-DO ALL THAT SEWING, FOR GAWD'S SAKE POOF

-Try to get at least somewhat better about posting photos--I think I need to stop agonizing about context for them and just put the things up.

-Get more financial stability so Abby can have a body and join the family properly

 

Fate is still my unicorn, but Abby gets priority since a body is literally the only thing she needs--which is a lot less expensive than Fate's fullset, too. ^^; Someday I shall have you, Feito-chan. . . just not in the first half of 2016.

I'm a first time hybrid doll owner...so I have so many things I want to do in 2016.

 

-Buy a lot of casual clothes

-Obtain more shoes and accessories

-Work on my wig making/sewing/painting/face modding/photo skills

-Make lots of outfits

-Work up the guts to go to a meetup

 

And the biggest thing I hope to do is get my first girl. So if that ends up happening...I'll have to do most of the things on the above list twice in one year.

Sounds like a lot of us procrastinate on doing those peripheral things to enjoy our hobby, like photography and sewing! I would really like to get back into sewing, and I definitely need to take more pictures.

 

DD Mio Honda is on my wishlist, whenever she gets released. And there's a DDH-02 head that I have my eye on, and would have to get a body for her as well.

I got Mio Honda, but not in the lottery. And I did get the 02 girl and her body.

 

I really want to get a lot of Alice Collections clothes for my DDs, I want to have a school uniform for each one, plus an everyday outfit for each one also. And some Arietta Project eyes. All of my DDs will have them, eventually (I hope).

Didn't happen! But I did get a big batch of Parabox eyes that I really like, and a few nice outfits.

 

Really though, with my purchase of Saber in January, I SHOULD be done for the year!!

I wasn't done! After Saber Alter arrived, I added an adorable SQLabs Tsubaki boy, Mio Honda, my 02 girl, AND a Youmu Konpaku head!

 

Edit: I am upgrading my DDH-06 (Miki) to a Dynamite body! This is something I've wanted for her for a while now! Her current DDII large bust body will be used for the DDH-02 I want to bring home someday. And I AM planning to enter for Mio in the Dolpa 33 lottery.

I ended up putting the 02 girl (Suri) on the Dynamite body, and left my 06 girl (Miki) on her DDII body.

 

For 2016, I want to:

 

Get the Obitsu 60cm boy body for my Youmu Konpaku head, and get Miki the large shapely bust I promised her when she didn't get the Dynamite body. And Nia Teppelin is on my wishlist now!!

Plans, hmm, well.

 

I want to do something full body suit wise for Alna. Can't seem to find a DDdy bodysuit anywhere.

I'd like to do the Coolcat neck, shoulder, hip reinforcements for each of my DDs.

Already fixed KOS-MOS.

Still waiting on MOMO to get here, sadly. She's somewhere on a ship from Australia.

Won Rin and her school uniform outfit. Hoping to win Takane as well.

Want to purchase a Saber DD and Ranka (Sheryl needs her friend).

Get a couple of the alternative outfits for the DDs I have already.

I'm wanting to get either a DDdy or DD standard and make a character concept off of the character I play in World of Warcraft.

Style/frizz control their hair though Miku's and KOS-MOS' hair actual seem to be okay!

 

That's it though for now.

I was able to fulfill my plans for 2015. For 2016 I hope to get these things done:

 

- pay off Mio Honda head + outfit ~done

- buy another dds for Mio

- buy cute outfits and shoes

- sew some more clothes for my dollfies

I've been thinking about it a lot and I think I have a pretty solid plan now:

 

Back to basics. My girls need shoes, and clothes. I don't own any wig caps or "dollfie supplies", no additional hands. VolksUSA recently got the carrying bag in stock, I'd like to get one of those. After a VolksUSA order to get some of those things that I'd like to get, I'll probably save up a bit of money and do a huge Taobao order. Or do a CoolCat order and then a Taobao order. I'd like to get some of their stands but that is less important.

 

Some time this year I'd like to get my Obitsu girl reshelled, but that is super low priority.

 

Bit of an update to this post since we're almost in to August.

 

I got Nia some hands? That's about it. :C I'm so bad at money. In my defense, I moved. In my non-defense, I just got a promotion at work and my husband got a raise because of the move, so I really have no excuse now. Though I missed the Volks case, I'll have to see about finding the pink one. Since I have to search for one now anyways, I can afford to be a little picky. Also gonna add to my list: I'd like a nice little compact system camera.

 

Our post-move finances should settle down after this weekend, so soon girls, soon.

 

(Also I never got my Obitsu girl sold so she could be reshelled. D'oh.)

 

So I was actually kinda successful in my list this year. I did manage to get hands and outfits for the girls. My major concern at the time was that my girls had no shoes, they've got quite a collection now! I also need to get another bin to store the girls' clothes in, as the one I have is stuffed to the breaking point.

 

I never got that Volks case, but I also decided I didn't really need it. The girls don't leave the house often enough for me to bother, so if I travel with them, they'll just go in a backpack of mine. I also never made that Coolcat/Taobao order. I'm intimidated by ordering off Taobao for some reason, haha.

 

I didn't get a compact system camera, but I did get the iPhone 6s, which serves my purposes for now.

 

My Obitsu girl is still sitting in my closet waiting to be sold. I will have to renew my efforts to sell her here soon.

 

In off-list things, I brought home a new girl since I made this update! I brought home a wonderful Yoko, who can wear absolutely nothing I own because of her gigantic assets. Which brings me to my list for this year!

 

-Get more outfits that fit Yoko. Resist the urge to buy things that would be cute on Nia or Annie in favor of buying more things for Yoko.

-Finish up my hands collection. I only need a few more WS hands, and I have two NS girls, so I really should get two sets of NS hands.

-Upgrade the girls' bodies. They're all sitting pretty on DDIIs, but I'd love to have them a bit more mobile, so I will be upgrading them sometime this year. Nia's body is an issue since I need an older yellowed body. Annie and Yoko's heads have also mellowed a bit, but not so much that it's a problem.

-Should I win Rin in the Intl lottery, I will have to slowly add more clothes that suit her as well. I have a whole year for that, so hopefully my clothing collection will grow a lot this year.

 

I was promoted to manager back in October, and that's when all of my plans really started rolling in to place, so hopefully I can keep that momentum going in to the New Year.

Well, last year my goal was to get a Dollfie Dream Miku, but then I swam in the waters a bit more (Ok more like a lot.) and decided she can wait. Still don't have a complete Dollfie, but I'm hoping to put her together in this upcoming year. At the moment I have eyes that I purchased earlier this year and it's not too big of a jump, but it's better than no progress, right?

I'd say my goal for 2016 would be to buy Kud but I don't want to disappoint myself with that one.

 

So something more modest:

- Attend a Dollpa

- Complete Hanako's 1920s outfit (I need shoes and a wig by the time it releases in March)

- Buy more shoes/wigs in general

- Hopefully help my boyfriend win Rin (not so modest..)

- Learn how to take better photos!

 

Totally jealous of all those aiming to make their own outfits, I have a complete lack of sewing ability so I mainly just buy off TB.

I didn't post last year so I don't need to check off anything for that.

 

For 2016 my goals are:

 

Saving for snow miku. I have a weekly list plastered to my wall so I keep on top of my savings. Also have to put aside money for her extra hand sets.

 

Open my etsy shop. I'd like to think my sewing has improved enough to be able to offer commissions. I have a few packages going out soon to some people that will hopefully rate my stuff ^×^

 

buy bodies for my 5 floating heads. Somehow I went crazy buying a lot of floating heads this year ^///^

 

Find/ buy an Alisa head/eyes. I'm in love with her and can't just admire her from a distance anymore. She will also need a body haha.

 

Buy shoes. I need more cute casual style shoes that can also go with a variety of outfits.

 

I've got a few volks outfits left on my wishlist. I need to make a wish list post in case I'm not looking in the right place at the right time. Also to buy any that are still to come that I adore.

 

need to buy a few pairs of eyes from volks.

 

and there's a few clothing orders I want to do. Coolcat, tree design, alice collections.

 

somewhere in there I will probably have to be saving for Len and Rin. And their extra hand sets.

 

Hopefully volks doesn't release anyone that I can't resist :p

I completed my 2015 goals except for getting a display case.

 

For 2016.

 

Finish my custom Shion Uzuki.

 

Get Rin and Takane (Entered in lottery, but if I don't win either I'm going after market for these two for sure.)

 

Buy a few rescue dolls to fix up. I'm looking for Melty, Asuna, and also a second Yui Hirasawa in order to turn her into Tsumugi Kotobuki.

 

More clothing of course.

 

Photographic backdrops, some furnishings, and two more spotlights.

 

Complete collecting all the normal skin hands. I'm about 50% at this point.

Mine is a mix of DD and non DD but all join into one famile i guess lol

 

1> Obitsu 65cm male body for Gaara ( DD09 head)

2> Smart doll guy for El.

 

Then parts..

3> DD L hands for Gaara and Elizabeth.

4> DDSL bust for Izzy.

5> WS thighs for Error to get rid of staining.

6> one piece torso L/SL for Izzy.

1. The learning curve for new DD owners

2. Find a good DD online store

3. Clothes

Get Tohsaka and A Takane head for an OC Plus, complete that OC.

 

Hopefully getting a surprise grail.

 

Smart Doll guy for one of my male OCs.

 

Get body suits, handsets, those new wrist pieces, and a few other essentials.

 

May go nuts at Anime Expo if I can afford it.

 

Other things may happen, who knows.

I hope to actually have a DD!

Although given that I planned my first one to be Kagamine Rin and she hasn't even been revealed yet, let alone preorders (if she IS a preorder release and I hope so badly she is), and factoring in how long it took Miku to come out after preorders first opened, I don't know how likely it is to have her in 2016 ;-;

But I'm liking the idea of making a mini DD more and more - it mostly depends on whether there are custom heads I like at Wonfes. Most of my funds do have to go towards building my first ever BJD since I won the head/wig at my first meetup this month.

 

Since I plan to get smart doll Eiji early in the year, 2016 will definitely be the year I start moving from 1/6 to 1/3 and 1/4. It's a bit intimidating for someone so used to XS pure neemos but I'm really exicted about it.

My DD plan for 2016 is to buy my first dollfie dream (DDS Mayu).

This year, I only plan for 2 things.

 

1. To finally give Cirno a body probably a parabox body...

2. Bring home Aoko because dang it I need her.

 

Other than that clothes, accessories, clothes, accessories and more xlothes... oh, and photoshoots ALL the photoshoots. I have a whole crew of girls and have maybe only shown them once or twice xD

To at least get one DD head

But my big plan is to get a DDIII body and an 06 OC head and an 03 head to be mayushii from steins:gate :3

Soo…it's april and maybe i should state what my DD plans are for this year..

 

I think that the order should be :

 

-first priority (hoping to save enough money) is to buy a body for my Primrose (Alna white)

-second priority to sew outfits for my 3 girls (i need to have a body for Alna to sew something for her since probably will be a bust L DDIII or DDy)

- third priority (with equal importance) is to buy a sws 06 head , sharing Alna's body, to create my own Hyperdimensional Neptunia Purple heart in battlesuit /buy new heads to paint and mod, at least a 01 , a 07 and maybe 09

 

Well since i almost reached 3 and half of my 2015 goals has hot been a too bad year , at least from doll side (got to buy Primrose a body, i had the possibility to paint other people's 09 and 07 , sew my girls an hakama and got to buy a DDH-06 sws head from yumeiro recently for my project Purple Heart, even received an unexpected MDD girl as gift from Pharaviel)

 

Well my plans for 2016 are:

 

-first off: Finish /complete my fourth girl Amaryllis (need wig, fix an arm and needs dresses and shoes)

 

-same importance as first point: finding time to SEW FOR MY DOLLS

 

-second: Start and maybe finish my project Purple Heart

 

-third: Expand my portfolios both of faceups and sewn outfits completing new commissions ( still i hadn't the occasion to mod and paint a 01 )

 

-Fourth but not least: buying a couple of busts, hands and shoes, mainly hands because i need them XD

My doll goals for 2016 are quite modest.

 

1. One more girl to bring the count to three. If the outcome of the lottery for Rin is favourable (fingers crossed!) then this will be taken care of without trouble.

2. Get my clothes and accessories well-organised and well-stored. If I can't get to them easily, my girls languish for months at a time in the same outfits.

3. Take more photographs. Photography is one of the things I enjoy most about dolls - I want to push the envelope and take some shots that go beyond just "pretty picture of doll" and stick in the viewer's mind.

 

The third is most important to me. I firmly believe in balancing between creation and consumption, and if I'm not using my girls for creative activity then I'm letting them and myself languish.
