Miyuki on the Prowl

Miyuki is my otaku girl so it stands to reason that when she saw me get the Masterpiece Edition of Prowl for Christmas, she asked if she could open it and try it out *for me*..... something about making sure he was complete and in good order.....

Prowl was one of my favorite Transformer toys as a kid so when I saw this new version of him, I just had to get one. My parents got him for me for Xmas and I'm really happy with him. He's super detailed, very posable and he looks exactly like the cartoon version I remember so well.

Thanks! She does like the TF toys and plays with my vintage ones quite a bit. I think your Natsuki is a bit more into them than Miyuki tho.... I've seen Natsuki's collection.

I found that on Ebay and asked Dallas about it before showing my parents so I wouldn't be getting a fake. I wasn't sure about US and Takara versions tho, I just wanted a cool looking Prowl.

Thanks! I used to have ALL the original TF toys when I was younger but I had to sell almost all of them to pay for my wedding. A friend showed me these Masterpiece Edition toys and I quickly felt that nostalgia for my old ones again. I won't be collecting these as a line or anything but I do know there are one or two more out there I'd like to have since the characters were faves of mine as a kid.

I had wanted to do something like this when I got my Fans Toys Quake Wave (third party Masterpiece Shockwave), so it's nice to see that others have the same idea and carry through.

Thank you very much! Miyuki definitely loves TF toys but she prefers their robot modes to their vehicle ones. If you have any TF toys, you should definitely get some pics with your girls playing with them! I have an Aerialbot team that combines into Superion that I want pics with my MDD girls sometime soon. I enjoy seeing DD pics of the girls playing with toys.

 

Masterpiece Edition of Prowl? was it a old school all metal version?

 

The Masterpiece Edition toys are newer releases ( in the 2000's ) and are aimed solely at older collectors. These aren't cheap, Prowl ranges from $60-$90 depending on where you can find him and whether you get the US or Takara release. This one is all plastic, no metal. The original G1 version was diecast metal tho, I had that one as a kid and loved him. Sadly he got sold off years ago so that's one of the reasons I wanted this one when I first saw it.

Thank you! That is quite a list of pre-orders you have there! I like Ultra Magnus and Ironhide quite a bit but I'd really love a Wheeljack... he was another of my favorite toys as a kid and I love how they did his MP head just like the cartoon. The G1 I had just didn't have the right head/face in my opinion.... quite like a lot of the originals.
