Oops! No worries, I'm glad you think so though! This is a much better color palette for him. When I was using orange and red, it just make his color look totally off. I'm much happier with him now too!

I swear it somehow feels like I posted in here last week, not like 4 months ago!!

Not too much to report, I've been lazily working on Astra's new curly and fluffy wig off and on.

Mikuo has made his yearly hair color swap from winter to summer!

And I never mentioned on here that my desk is actually all themed around 9S, so he's constantly the star of my whole display! And honestly thanks to this cute little stool thing I picked up from Target, It's been so much easier to have him sit off to the side of the desk while I work on things!

I was really pleased with how the lighting on this one came out. It was actually sunrise when I took this because I had stayed up all night. Whoops. I love how certain lighting can make 9S look like he has a bit of a smirk lol!

I've been messing around with different backdrops to try to mix things up a bit and I like how this shot came out!

Been a looooong time since I messed with color editing, but I'm pleased with the result! I love these Mako eyes, but sometimes they look really blue or really gray. This was a case where they were gray and I wanted them to look blue...so I just touched that up a bit lol.

Just me popping by to drop a few more pictures that have come out semi-decently. Thinking about buying a lightbox...I don't have too many spaces for pictures in my apartment.

First up, some Nagisa! Been a while since I took pictures of them.

Still always experimenting with backgrounds, not sure I really like the all black sometimes.

I saw this overall set and knew it was a must-have for my MDDs! I said I'd be better this year with getting outfits for my SD boys and yet...Lol.

And lastly of course my usual 9S posting. I hate to say I play favorites lately...but does anyone else just have that one doll they just click with? Obviously Kaito is my other, but he's still waiting on elbow replacements, which is why you don't see him around much these days!

Every time I'm on the fence about these eyes, he makes this face and then I keep them...😆 but I am looking forward to trying some new ones in the future too.

So this is what happens when I get morbidly curious about what clothes fit who in my group. These are MSD sized shorts from rrabit I've had around. 😂 They do technically fit...I was actually pretty shocked, they do have an elastic band and that's the only way you're getting these on a full DD.

Decided to roll with it and somehow ended up thinking of a very vaguely sporty look?

This hat looks absolutely silly on Nines though. My MDDs will be keeping it.

Welcomed home a sort of new boy today! 🥺 (This brings me to having 3 9S heads...I swear I'll stop now. Just call me the home for abandoned androids lmao.)

I saw him on Mandarake and fell in love with his more BJD/SD style faceup! I usually don't like this style, but there was something about it!

With the yen situation and the fact that he was listed with some smoke damage, I decided to go for him. Lucky for me, the smoke smell somehow isn't on him at all. It is all over his clothes though, so I can't take pictures of my two twin/clone boys together until I get his clothes treated. I sort of wonder how that happened though...Glad he doesn't stink though! 😆 So he stole my other 9S' uniform for now.

A dark colored wig works really well for him too! Though I'd have to find him a different one since this one has a black wig cap and stains...

As for how I see him...I'm not sure at the moment! I plan on giving this body to poor Kaito, who has had bad elbows for a year or so now. So this boy will share a body with my current 9S.

Initially, I wanted him to be another interpretation of 9S, but I think I'm already calling him 9H...(a character who was sort of a prototype to 9S. He has dark hair like this lol!) But we'll see how it goes!

I spent so much time going through this thread and enjoying your photos. Your doll family is so cute. I love your Vocaloids, but I love your passion for 9S too even though I haven't played the game yet!

I'm glad you like my passion here too, I always feel super annoying for posting 9S so much. 😆He's so cute and my favorite character though...what am I supposed to do?

Of course I'm biased, but I super recommend his game if you ever get around to it lol!

I've been having fun treating 9S and 9H like twins for a bit before I finally pass the body over to Kaito lol. I did manage to get the smoke smell out of his uniform and I was very happy I did!

I of course have members here to thank for old threads about that. Dryer sheets + freezer worked like a charm!

It's just very funny when doll plans go so differently than expected. I did not expect to like treating these two like brothers so much...😆 I'm almost going to feel bad separating them. Both for body swapping and I may go back home for a bit in September and I might only take 9S with me.

Dropping by because sometimes I still want to post stuff if I think it may be useful to someone in the future. This time it's a post about my MDD boys! (I'm counting Nagisa since I treat them like a boy most of the time. I've technically never decided on their gender.)

So it's probably not easy to tell in these pictures...but this week, Astra got upgraded to the Kakuso male MDD torso parts! So since I was changing their outfits anyway, I thought I would post a quick comparison between the Parabox 40cm, Kakuso torso, and the default MDD bust.

(Trying to put it below a spoiler, my first time using that feature so sorry if it doesn't work at first)

Honestly I'm REALLY happy with the Kakuso torso. I was pleasantly surprised by the color matching and that the vinyl doesn't really feel any different to me from the usual, except for being more firm. But yeah, I can't really tell with most clothes but it's okay. It somehow is just really satisfying for me to know that this body now fits Astra's character better. I didn't think it really bothered me until I saw him like this and realized I like it more lol.

Dropping by for once because I realized today was a Doll-iversary for me! 😂 Time sure flies by so fast....I can't believe it's been three years already since 9S arrived home to me! So I did my best to try to make a cute set...

 

Well...if I were to get sentimental for a bit, it's really funny to how I really didn't pay him any mind when I first got him. I thought I was gonna sell him, I hated his default faceup and wig compared to the prototype pictures!! And here we are 3 years later and now I feel bad that I hardly pay any of my others any mind compared to him...He's certainly become incredibly important to me. I couldn't imagine any other doll taking his place! He's been such a source of comfort and joy to me through some rough times these past couple years.

I'm happy that DD last such a long time, I hope to keep Nines with me for many more years! 😄

Happy Doll-iversary to you and Nines time sure flies by, doesn't it? But like you said, Dollfies are fairly long-lived and even if a little mishap might happen there are usually ways to fix them back up!

I hope we all get to enjoy our boys and girls for a long time to come!

I'm definitely glad there are ways to fix them back up easily! Turns out he's gotten a cracked shoulder after 3 years and I just noticed LOL. I hope we all get to enjoy our DDs for a long time too!

Popping in here to show I actually did some sewing for once! 😂 I wanted to make 9S his outfit from the Switch port of Automata before Anime Expo this weekend and it went really well!!

Kimono was made by me with a pattern. The fox mask is a 3D printed one that I sanded and painted myself. The shirt I got from nine9style and changed the buttons to gold. The hakama is from rrabit. The sword is 2B's repainted to be 9S' Cruel Oath. 😁

Excited to catch some of you at AX! I also recently acquired 2B and she'll be coming with me as well in her regular uniform lol.

Barely getting around to organizing my files right now and realized I never posted my Anime Expo photos! I sadly missed the meetup, if I attend again, I will be skipping Saturday and doing Sunday and Monday next time LOL...I had so much fun taking 9S and 2B around, I'm always really shocked by the positive reaction they get at cons!! I was so worried before about getting stopped for the dreaded "these are so creepy" talks and people were nothing but positive! 😂 I'm so happy I was able to bring them with me to see Natsuki Hanae(9S' Japanese voice actor) and Yoko Taro!!! I joke that they met their father that day...In a terrifying leprechaun mask. IYKYK...

Despite my tests at home going perfectly, his fox mask wouldn't stay on, so...

I met up with my friend from Twitter/Discord and her Nines LOL.

My poor 2B ended up in a long distance relationship with my friends' Nines... 😭😂

Still organizing my pictures but I also attended Resin Rose BJD Con! I have pics from that too so those will be next lol.

The meet up is always on the third day of the convention, but which day that is can vary from year to year - AX is timed so that it's open on July 4th, so which days of the week it's open for can change. I mention this in particular because next year it's Thursday through Sunday (July 4-7), so Saturday is in fact the day of the meet up. 

Your Nines is as cute as always. My favorite picture has to be the one of 2B with your friend's doll, though. The pose conveys a lot of emotion through their body language, which is always something I struggle with getting right.

Darn...Saturday was too hectic for me, so I wouldn't come back that day unless they lured me in with another panel I felt I needed to be at. I basically didn't even get in to see anything that day, it was just too crowded...

And I have my friend to thank for the posing on that one! She has a good eye for these things and is a great artist, so it made sense it transfers over to posing as well!

My Uchinoko-Kawaii tote bag got here this week so I just wanted to post about it!

I've been going to a lot of cons this year, and taking 9S with me has been such a pain without the right bag...I ended up finding a large clear beach tote to use at Resin Rose, but it's unbelievable how hard it was to find one big enough for two DD!

My friend now wants to see 2B any chance we get when we meet up so she can take pictures with her 9S, so I needed a doll bag that holds two very badly...and now I finally have it!!

 

It's so nice to have a doll bag designed with doll owners in mind! I LOVE the way the front opens so I can adjust the wig, clothes, etc with so much more ease. It's also really comfortable to wear on the shoulder, but I will also be getting it a shoulder strap! Love that it comes with the option to attach one. The phone pouch on the back is SO nice. It was a nightmare managing my phone and wallet at cons before, now I have easy access. Overall, I LOVE this bag and I hope they add it to their regular stock because it would make traveling with DD so much easier for people IMHO.
