Does anyone have photos of a 09 head on an Obitsu 50cm body?

Hello there! I hope everyone's day is going well.

 

I was wondering if anyone had pictures of an 09 head (semi-white preferably) on an Obitsu 50 cm white skin body. I am planing on making a custom doll, and I wanted to see what it would look like before I purchased everything during my trip to Tokyo in February. If possible I'd also love to see a size comparison to a DD3 body too. My current girls are on DD3 and DDdy2 (Yoko's body) respectively.

It should be noted DD normal skin is generally a close match for Obitsu white skin. This can vary from batch to batch on both the Obitsu & Volks side

Oh my goodness, thank you very much Dollvari! I really appreciate the trouble you went to in order to show me what an 09 head would look like on a 50cm body.

 

I'm really in love with the 50cm body, due to how it poses, and it works perfectly for the character I'm going for. I totally agree with you on the color match, now that I've seen a semi-white DD next to the Obitsu white skin (I had no reference before since both my DDs are normal skin and I had read somewhere that semi white was a better match, but that's clearly not the case). There's a bit of a gap I noticed between the neck and the head, which is a bit of a bummer since that's what I was worried about. Do you know if there's anyway to fix that by chance?

Dollfie Dreams have a larger neck diameter than most heads designed for the Obitsu 50cm. I've had several Obitsu heads on DD bust pieces and have reduced the size of the neck on several for a better fit.

 

Dollvari's photo appears to be taken at an angle looking up at the under side of the head. This isn't a typical viewing angle and this gap will not be as apparent during normal usage. Having a wig on the doll, particularly one with shoulder length or greater hair will put this area in shadow, further reducing the appearance of the gap.

Oh ok! Thank you very much K-2, that's wonderful news to hear! I've read several of your treads regarding Obitsu customization. You run such a lovely website and forum site, and several of the threads there have helped me greatly.

DD busts are about the same diameter as 60cm Obitsu busts and will fit on the 60cm Obitsu bodies with little modification

 

The 55cm, 60cm, and 47cm (old style) bodies shown here all have the same diameters and just vary in height.

 

DD busts are much larger in diameter than the Obitsu 50cm bodies and will leave a rather large "step-in" gap between the abdomen and the bust.

 

If a larger or different shaped bust is what you are looking for, you should look over the various busts available from Angel Philia. AP dolls use the base 50cm body with custom molded parts.

Thank you so much! I didn't realize that the obitsu company made smaller busts. I had only seen their bodies with the normal medium size bust and the large bust before. The small bust seems to be the perfect size for the project doll I'm working on.

Thanks SO much for making this topic; I've been wondering the same thing for while too! And thanks a lot for the picture, Dollvari. My girl has an SQ Lab Misty head which is the perfect size for the obitsu 50cm body in my opinion, but I still wondered how a DDH-09 head would look, especially since I've read that it's not a very large head. I think the 09 head is pretty nice on an obi50!
