paint for non vinyl parts?

So it's coming down to it. I'm going to have to have felicia's ears finished and paint matched to her skin tone.

Right now they're tamiya quick putty beige. Sanding hasn't gotten rid of every etch/chip/scratch mark, and some of them are hard to get to when they're in where I can't get dremel bits or sand paper.

I have an airbrush, I also have a friend that paints miniatures.

Question is, what kind of paint and primer should I be using to match the normal skin?

Also, the bigger issue would be finding a good clear coat/sealer. The popular one around here seems to be mr hobby, but here's a catch, I don't think it's widely available in canada. Tamiya products might be easier to get. Any aerosol product will be hard to get as they can't be shipped air mail, so if 1-2 month waits are in order to get a can shipped by surface mail, I might as well look into alternatives.

I can't answer about the paint, but with respect to the sealant I live in the US and was able to get a can of MSC shipped from japan in about 2 weeks. I bought it on ebay, and it cost me about 20$.

At home: DDH-09 (Ryoko), blue DDH-01 MDD (Aoko), DDH-02 MDD (Hikaru)

Junkyspot sells MSC for about 13 a can, not including shipping, and you can buy a pack of 3 for 37! Seems like a pretty good deal. I imagine it's not easy to burn through a entire can of MSC very quickly, but, hey, it's a deal.

Shipping to Canada might not make it worth it, though.

Watered down acrylics seem like they'd work, given that those sorts of paints are commonly used. So long as it isn't oil based, I doubt there'd be a problem.

If you have anyone coming to Toronto in the next little while, you can send them to Anime Extreme down in Chinatown - they frequently stock MSC

But phone first to make sure they have it.

sounds like clearcoat is just clearcoat, so whatever my friend uses for her miniatures should be fine. She also uses acrylics for her stuff.
