Cold days [DDH-07 & 09] >> Upd. new photos

I took my girls out for a few photos, braving the -25°C weather. I do have to say that changing the hands in this weather isn't good for my own hands and the vinyl gets so hard it's more difficult than usual. I gave up on a full shoot because I didn't wanna risk cracking the plastic frame, and because Saya's coat needs to be shortened. She stole it from another doll of mine and it was made to be worn with long skirts and thus doesn't look very flattering on her right now. No proper full body photos because of that. =__;

 

I need to make Yuyuka a cute winter coat, she looks so cold. xD

The girls look really lovely in their winter wear! Love the sweet wig on your 09, and the soft turtleneck and warm headband on the 07!

They both look so pretty! I love the color and general atmosphere of the pictures, everything is so well-balanced (●´□`)♡ The blurry background really adds as well!

Thank you. I'm lacking winter stuff for bigger dolls, but I'm getting there! Need more scarves, coats and winter shoes, haha.

Thank you. I like snow too, but it's been really cold, like colder than -20°C for two weeks straight. It causes some problems and having to leave the house is not always fun. But it definitely beats a warm, rainy winter (we've had those lately, too). Can't even get any photos taken if there's no snow because the days are short and dark. =__=

Thanks. :3 I hadn't planned on having these two as buddies, but they do look cute together. Saya will probably not always be a 07, though. I will be replacing her once I find something better for her.

The light is all natural: it was a bright day (sun just managed to shine over a hill) and the snow reflects a lot of light off the ground.

Your girls both have fantastic style! These photos are also super lovely...well worth venturing out in the cold for! I have to commend you for going out in -25 c...I think probably -5 c is my limit for being outdoors in the cold.

We get -25 C here too but I've never taken any of the girls out in that weather (I don't take them in any weather ) so its interesting to read of your experience. I take it there was no wind? Wind chill is always a hassle when dealing with temperature extremes. It might say -25 but the windchill brings it down to -40 C here. I'm curious what that will do to the vinyl but I won't risk the girls. I have a spare hand laying about that I might experiment with though...

Thanks. It was extremely cold for 3 weeks in a row, so not much choice if you want to step outside the house at all.

There was a light wind, but nothing major. Mostly it was a really calm, sunny days. I don't really photograph my dolls outside if there's a lot of wind (unless I want that effect for the photos) because they tend to fall at some point. =__; I don't think vinyl will get damaged from low temperatures, but the inner frame can definitely get a little brittle if it stays there for a long time. I don't know what happened to Yuyu's wrist but it got really floppy after this session. She won't be able to hold anything in her hand right now because the wrist just flops around. I've been waiting to get her the new wrists anyway, so I don't care much but... it's weird.

Thank you. Not much of a choice here sometimes, if you want photos. xD No chance of taking them indoors because it's so dark.

Posting some more photos in the same thread, because these have the same theme. This time it was just -5°C and cloudy (it was snowing lazily), so the colour and light isn't as nice as last time... but I fixed Saya's coat and made Yuyu a coat of her own, so I had to celebrate with a few photos.

They are lovely! I adore the way you dress them and your pictures are amazing, as usual. I love pictures in the snow (must have been freezing but so worth it, all the white is gorgeous!) and you make really beautiful clothing. Yuyu's coat is the cutest, and I love her braids on the last pictures, I have to say!
