Building a body from scratch

Hi everyone!

 

So while I've been searching for a WS body it seems it's going to be very difficult to find one. So I was thinking of maybe buying the separate parts on the Volks International store and building her myself. The only problem is that in WS they seem to have a mix of DD2 and DD3 parts and not a full set of either >_<

 

SO the question is, are they compatible? For example:

If I were to build a body with

 

The internal upper torso frame (it says compatible with DDS, DD3 and DDdy bodies)

A DD2 bust piece

DD2 waist piece

DD2 Hands

DD2 thighs

DD3 arms

DD3 feet

and DD3 shins

 

Would that even work?

No, the build of the bodies are different, only exception I found is that you could use DD3 arms on a otherwise complete DD2 body.

And if I remember correctly the DD2 parts on the Volks don't have internal frames only vinyl parts.

The bust for DDII could work, though the fit may be a teensy bit off. The hands are actually the same between the two bodies, so you're totally fine there. Kitsune's right about the thighs though: the DDII version is outer vinyl only (for replacing stained parts), so that part you'll have to wait for a restock.

You would need a DD3 waist too because again, the 2 wouldn't have the frame part inside, plus it probably wouldn't fit with the inner bust part anyway.

Oh man Just my luck I suppose. Well I guess I'll just work on being patient and trying to find a used body..

Well, in theory the only internal frame parts you see on the doll when assembled are the elbows, wrists, and feet. So couldn't you buy the DD3 ns or sws parts, remove the internal frames, and put the frames into the DD2 ws outer vinyl parts?

 

The downside is that you end up paying 2x as much for one body.
