DD Head on an Obitsu 48cm? Ebay reliability?

Recommended Posts

Saturnnnn

Hi ^^ I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a DD head would fit on an Obitsu 48cm. Pictures would be much appreciated too. I want to start out with an Obitsu/DD hybrid but I'm just not sure how a DD head would look on that body. Also, does anyone have any experience ordering doll stuff from Ebay? I found the body I want for a decent price on there but I'm not sure how reliable it is. The shop does have a lot of good feedback though.

Also please don't yell at me if this is the wrong section, I'm not very good at sections ^^;

Yes they do. Mimiwoo has a good tutorial on attaching heads to Obitsu bodies.

DD heads on the 48cm will look similar in proportions to the same DD head on an Mini Dollfie Dream, except the 48cm is a bit taller. Take a look at Baldylox's MDDgirls in the Photostory section here. They look really cute.

I've bought a lot of stuff (hundreds) on ebay in the 10+ years I've been there and only run across 2 a-hole sellers. It really is all about the seller and their reputation. Just do what you can to protect yourself and your funds (shipping insurance, tracking, PayPal, etc.) You might want to mention the shop's name so others who have purchased with them can give you tips, feedback, etc.

I don't think they yell much here. They would just move your post to a different section.

Hey thanks about my girls!

I have a lot of MDD sized girls that use the Obitsu/Parabox bodies and the heads fit the sizing really well. The skin tone matches up great too. Most of my girls are on the 40cm body but I do have 2 girls on 45cm bodies and one on a VMF50cm body. I find the MDD bodies to be a lot more cute looking in style but the Obitsu/Parabox ones are WAY more sturdy and posable IMO. Plus, it's easier to get Obitsu bodies and parts than it is to get MDD ones from Volks. Volks always seems to be missing parts on their website while Parabox/Obitsu usually has things in stock. They're sometimes out of stock on stuff but they seem to restock pretty fast.

As K2 said, check out the photo story and photo sections here to see my girls on these bodies. Hopefully you'll like what you see! There's also a few threads in the question and answer area that do body comparisons of the MDD and Obitsu bodies, check those out as well.

I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Thanks so much!! BTW, the Ebay seller's name is masatkoshima1977. I wish I could take all the extra steps to protect myself when buying from Ebay, but I'm not old enough. I managed to beg my mom into letting me get a DD as a super late birthday present, so she's the one paying for everything and I have very little control of how things are shipped and insured. I'm sure I can talk to her about it though. Although in the end, I might just end up getting a regular DD.

I remember seeing your photo story long before I was set on getting a DD. I'll be sure to check it out again. Also, your girls are adorable!! ^^

Not much selection in the DD head realm I'm afraid, but it will help give you a rough idea...

I made a hybrid with a DD 06 head on obitsu 50 body, which it very close to the 48 body.

I did have a hard time getting the head to connect to the body, so I caved and bought an adapter on Yahoo Japan Auctions. I really like the adapter, it's so easy to switch heads and the SQ lab head I have goes on easy too. If anyone out there needs a link, the seller is grayforce http://sellinglist.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/user/grayforce? and the particular adapter is this one http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m154749831

Here's a few quick pics of some of my Obi bodied girls:

Minako wearing the MOMO default set. It's a little loose on her but it still looks really good on her VMF50 body. Kino is on the MDD3 body.

Umi is on the 45cm body and it works out well in regular MDD clothing.

Here's Sumi ( on the left ) on an older MDD body next to Hitomi on a 40cm Obi body for a size comparison.

Kaitlynn is on the 40cm body as well, she easily fits most MDD clothes.

And here's Louise on the 45cm body wearing an MDD set with shirt and pants. It fits her nicely, better than I thought it would since she's a bit taller than the MDD.

Hope these help you out!
