Greetings from California!

Hello everyone! I'm new to the BJD world. I've been a figure collector for years, but now I'm branching into Azone 50cms (AZO2). Eventually I plan on purchasing a Dollfie Dream, either when I visit Japan or at Anime Expo 2016. I have the Azone (AZO2) 1/3 Hybrid Active Figure of Takao from Arpeggio of Blue Steel on pre-order, as well as the AZO2 Westernland Yui. Even though I don't have any dolls yet, I've started purchasing alternate outfits for them .

Welcome to the world of vinyl dolls! I really like the Azone Takao doll, she loves very mature for one of their dolls.

Usually the Azones look very youthful to me LOL. Which Dollfie Dreams are you interested in?

A bit late to see this, but welcome! It's so nice to see more people interested in AZO2 girls. I think they really bridge the gap between MDD and DDS size nicely while still looking aesthetically pleasing(and not too overtly sexy xD), since I know that not everyone likes the look of the standard obitsus LOL.

 

Takao looks quite nice! It's true that a lot of the Azone's go for a youthful/cute look throughout all of their dolls. Some of the Black Raven(?) series dolls look really cool, even though the heads still look moe. xD I hope there'll be more variety this year.

I'm glad the AZO2 line came along-- for myself I feel it's a good introduction point to the 50-60cm ball jointed doll world. They're a bit more affordable, simpler to obtain, have great pose-ability, and as Elianti said, have a more shapely look (than some of the regular Obitsus).

 

I've been tempted by some of those Black Raven dolls. I ended up purchasing a 50cm Black Raven Limited Ed. outfit when I visited Tokyo last October, even though I didn't have any BJDs yet. And thankfully I've seen a photo that shows it will fit on an AZO2 I didn't really know much at the time about the difference between an AZO2 and the Obitsu 50cms, so I'm glad it'll work out after all.

 

Azone has been displaying a one-of-a-kind Sahra 50cm doll at their stores these last few weeks. If they decide to actually make them, I think I'll try to get one! Then I'll have a regular 50cm Obitsu too!

 

Getting into the world of Dollfies seems so daunting, with Volks making their dolls so limited. I was admiring the Saber Alter 2nd Ver, Alisa (God Eater), and Aoko Aozaki. I've seen so many beautiful pictures using those heads. Of course, it seems like the only one possible to find for a fair price is Saber. Or another possibility is the Snow Miku. I'm sort of hoping Volks will sell her at their Anime Expo 2016 booth. Dollfies seem neat as there are so many spare parts available to customize them.

Hey there welcome! Congrats on your pre-orders, I'm a fellow azone 50 fan (Amane pink ver is one of my dream dolls!) I'd love to have just one in my collection. One of my friends has a Ellen of time and at first I thought I wouldn't care much for them but after holding her in person I realized I really need one in my life! lol. They are so much more detailed then you'd think. I also really like Luluna, Mocha and Alice. Your lucky to be getting a Yui! She's super cute. And the Black Raven series is awesome and probably my fave! Who is your favorite model from it? BTW if you haven't yet, You should join the Azone discussion facebook if you have one, We talk about newest releases, and people post every day on there and there's quite a few 50s in there too. Yeah i've seen the big Sahra. She's cute but I feel like her eyes are kinda different from the smaller version >_< I wish they weren't so spaced apart. That being said i'd love it if they made a big Lycee or Maya sense those are my favorite Sahra's girls ;3; I agree with azone being a good first introduction to dolls. They are very simple to manage and care for, they are also more cost efficient then BJD and you don't have to worry so much with the customization. Right now I only have pure neemos and one DD on the way. I hope you will enjoy your time here and be posting pics of your new girl on the azone thread here or in the azone FB group. ^^ you'll find many DD owners also collect these cuties. Which DD do you feel you have interest in for the future? Are you more into making your own custom, or are you leaning towards a fullset?

The Black Raven series is really nice! I never even realized that Azone made an Amane pink version. She's so beautiful; she must have sold out fast (especially being a special release). I really like the Luluna Preface blonde (gold) ver. I almost ordered her once. And I might one day if she's still available at a good price. The Lilia-Night on Halloween is also really beautiful.

I realized that the Black Raven outfit that I purchased from Azone in Japan was the Cecily Fear of Darkness II outfit. Expensive, but I love it.

 

That would be wonderful if they started a 48/50cm line of Sahra's a la Mode girls. Lycee & Maya are cute! Just yesterday I pre-ordered the 50cm Sahra's a la Mode waitress costume. I can't wait to get them! I'm hoping they continue the line with more outfits in 50cm/AZO2.

 

I'm aiming for a fullset Dollfie Dream, and then plan to gradually customize her. I really don't know enough about Dollfies yet to custom build one.

keep in mind that not all 48/50cm AZONE will fit your DD. I started with AZONE myself too, before moving to DD.

Hello and welcome. Hope you have a great time in the forum. I like the Azones, I'd like to see pics of them. My first doll was a DD a Yukino 2nd ver. We named her Amora Yuri (#amora_yuri on Flickr).

If your interested, we're going to have a Dollfie meet-up here in Anaheim in mid-March. It's open to everyone, but it's not limited to DD's only. Some people are even bringing their other BJD's for us to see as well. If you think you can make it down, we'd like to meet you and your Azones. You don't even have to bring a doll, just bring yourself and enjoy the day with us.
