Help Finding Second Hand Selling Platform

Hi! I'm relatively new to the hobby and I accidentally bought three wigs from Leekeworld that were too small for my dolls (7-8 inch). I can return them, but I'd be out so much in shipping charges and handling fees, it doesn't seem worth it. Are there any selling platforms (ebay, craigslist type) for DD's/BJD's that I could use? Ideally I'd like to sell for slightly below retail price to someone local, so no one has to spend money on shipping charges, or at least not very much. Any ideas/recommendations? The one I opened seemed like a good quality wig.

Leekeworld wigs are fairly popular around this forum from what I can tell. You might try posting them in the Marketplace.

 

Den of Angels has a marketplace for resins of all sizes, but their marketplace access rules are quite strict. I think it's something like 6 months membership and 100+ posts in that time to get access. They also want things like your feedback profiles on other marketplaces to make sure you are honest before you even get limited marketplace access.

 

Lots of doll stuff on ebay, but ebay sellers are known for their steep markups. It's usually the last place I look not the first. Granted I'm not afraid of doing business with Japan through proxies, so I'm not necessarily a good barometer.

You can sell them on Figure.fm though.

 

Den of Angels also has an extensive marketplace, but you must reach a certain post count to be able to use it.

 

I personally think your best bet would be joining Den of Angels (if you are not already a member) and then posting until you can use their marketplace. If they still require invitations, you can send me a PM on here with your email and I will invite you to DoA.

It's 60 days and 40 posts for limited marketplace access. It means you can't host a group order or do commissions but you should be able to sell wigs. I think registration on DoA is open right now, though, much easier than before...

Thanks for the advice everyone! I am a member of DoA, but I don't have enough posts for Marketplace access there, since I'm more into vinyl than resin at the moment. I took a closer look at what I purchased, and while it won't fit DD, it will fit MSD. So perhaps I'll look into Figure.fm. I haven't heard of them before, so research is required.

I’m average eBay seller. I can honestly tell you this… eBay’s fees + PayPal’s fees are a nightmare! This is why you have the markups. However, the traffic on eBay far out weights all other sites.

There are several BJD groups on Facebook that serve as a marketplace-- you may want to check them out! That way, there are no hoops to jump through with DoA or seller fees on eBay!
