Thank you for the info! Now at least I'm not afraid to purchase an SD wig lol.

Yumiko wears an SD wig. Yeah it's a bit loose, but the miracle of Pittato means that her wig stays put.

However: do not tempt fate and get a 9" or 9"-10" wig for a DD, because even DDH-04, which is the biggest head in Dollfie Dream land, is too small for one of those.

The first wig for Yumiko, the one that Chad had on her, was way too big. Leeke 9"-10". God what a nightmare! And the wig got ruined from falling off Yumi's head so many times.

As you can see, the Titian short wig is more becoming on her than the Leeke wig.

I also have one SD wig on a DD girl. It's the pink twintails wig that is seen on Miyuki here:

Here's the same wig on Manami:

Just as Ms. Geek says, this wig is slightly too large for the girls. Even with Miyuki being the larger 04 head type, she requires a head cap to keep the wig from sliding off. I just used one of the silicone caps given out by Cool Cats. Since this is a light colored wig, I dont have to worry about staining so using the CC caps is fine. Just know that if you do get a dark wig, the CC silicone caps do NOT provide ANY protection from stains. A friend of mine found this out the hard way on one of his girls.

I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

@MsGeek - Thank you for responding! I'll be sure to stay far away from 9"-10" wigs. Beautiful girl by the way .

@baldylox - Thanks for the heads up about the silicone caps! Very useful tip if I ever accidentally end up with a wig that's too big . As a side note, if you don't mind me saying, your girls are gorgeous!

DD can wear SD wigs. They can be a little loose depending on the head mold. You can use a wig stopper to secure the wig.

Here are some of my girls in SD wigs:

What an unearthly gorgeous girl! I love her eyes... wow. You have great taste, Mitsuki. ^^

With wig stop and head caps you can usually make most things work. On my Kaguya I have a Volks MSD wig that works really well on her- she's 'child-like' so the fact the bangs are short works really well for her. (for me anyhow!) Because it's white I avoid staining fairly easily.

Wig caps are almost always necessary but when they add too much bulk:

- I use a cut piece of neutral colored tight or stocking that has been washed multiple times,

- Attach wigstop to the inside of the upper part of the head cap and then,

- Stretch the material over the wig cap and pop the head cap onto your girl.

I'd only use this method if you don't have the actual cap touching the surface of your daughter!!! It's the wig caps that stain like the bleepens so beware!

Thank you for complimenting me and Sakaki. She has DD Shirakawa Sayaka's default eyes:

They make her look like she is gazing intently at you. I wish Volks would release theses eyes as standard. I also love DD Sasara's round blue eyes.

I agree that Kaguya's short bangs make her look more child-like and stylish too.

Thank you for the less bulky wig protection method.

Um, has anyone here ever tried putting a 7-8 size wig on a DD?

I think nobody tried because it's too small. Most DD wigs are 8-9" (it's the common size of DD head) and even some of them are tight.

I tried, and it doesn't work. I have some 7-8" wigs for my MSD-size girl and they won't go on the HDD-03 head, which is one of the smallest DD heads.

In all honesty, it depends on the wig... I've had a Volks Mika default wig (Mika is MSD size) that has always had enough stretch to fit over SD heads... and yet is elastic enough to cling to YoSD heads... it's truly a strange wig.

As for purchasing though, yeah, unless you can try it on the doll in person, I wouldn't buy under an 8-9... and that goes for MDD too... since their little noggins are the same size as DD heads.

Besides, if a wig is too big... you can:

A: Use the balloon head condom

B: Use a rubber band around the head to act as a grip

C: Just pin the wig in the back on the head cap to the right size with a safety pin

D: Suede the headcap...

I'm sure this list is lacking in other tricks. (I prefer the balloon method... just make sure you buy a white/clear balloon to avoid staining.

And what Mitsuki already mentioned, You can use Volks Doll Wig Stopper / SD Pitatto Wig

Or similar product, like here - http://us.sk-coolcat.com/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=other_20&Category=158911

8-9 is the ideal wig size IMHO.

Technically I never bought mine from leeke world before... but I bought them from a site call "Zephyr" instead. Fits perfectly, don't even need double tape heh

I'm going to weigh in on this 7-8 size versus the 8-9 size since I have BOTH of these wig sizes. DDH-03 actually fits amazingly well into the 7-8 wigs, but that's a small head - I think Saber Lily's head may also fit the smaller wig but Yoko's head is MUCH too large for that. ^^;

Hmm... interesting. Didn't know DDH-03 head is that small. Each DD head sure has different sizes!

I should do a photo of how DDH-03 looks in the smaller wig - next time I order Elle a wig I'll likely get her the smaller size - though I may try a silicone cap to see if that can help with the fit.
