Hometown Dolpa Kyoto 13

The website for HT Dolpa Kyoto 13 is up,

http://www.volks.co.jp/htd_kyoto13/

March 13th at Pulse Plaza in Kyoto. They're doing a thing this time where the guidebooks and the admission tickets are separate things to buy. I'm planning to attend :3

They've really changed up the rules on how to enter Dolpa these days, huh. Be careful you buy the right thing! At least for this Kyoto DP, the website says there are essentially three different ways to get in:

*Y800 entry ticket only: You can go in at 11am.

*Y1800 entry ticket + guidebook: You can go in at 10am, get a bingo card, get a gift.

*Y3000 ticket + guidebook + X-pass: Get guaranteed one of the first 300 spots in line, plus the above.

Being early in line doesn't help you get dolls anymore since they do lottery at Dolpa for later delivery, and don't let you buy them at the event. However it would be helpful for buying Ginger Tea clothes or limited Sumika items.

Interesting stuff.

Ooooo... Sheryl's blue military uniform might be on sale! Hopefully it is part of the website aftersale as well.

Actually it doesn't help with the Sumika line either (・・')

I want to prioritize the dealer floor this time because last time I spent too long in the Sumika line (like over an hour and a half), and a lot of interesting stuff there was sold out. I got insanely lucky going to the After Event at Akihabara being ~4th in line, but this time I guess I'll just take part in the click war when I get home I may try going to the Sumika line, and if I get a bad number I'll just walk over to the end of the regular lineup.

Can you buy tickets online if you're not currently in Japan? I'll be there on vacation during the Dolpa so I'd like to attend. Can I buy them from a Volks store in Japan, and can it be any store or does it have to be in Kyoto?

You can buy tickets and guidebooks online and have them shipped overseas, but there's a limited time window to do so because books only become available starting a few weeks before the event. Whether it will work for you depends on when you leave for your vacation.

You can buy them at any Volks store in Japan; they will be at the checkout register in the doll section of the store.

If you're in Kyoto for Dolls Party, go over to the Nipponbashi area of Osaka (aka DenDen Town) for doll shopping - it's like Akihabara there. Also, the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka will have a large Mandarake and an Alice on Wednesday right across from each other - another worthwhile trip to take.

Actually tickets will be available the day of, right at the event. It was like that last year, and quoting the website, machine translated,

* Day-sales, later opening is ready as soon as start.

We recommend advance purchase because it may be crowded.

I'm going to buy it online though.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be arriving March 4 so it might be safer to buy tickets at Volks Osaka. Sometimes express shipments decide to take ages to arrive here. I'm pretty familiar with shopping opportunities in Osaka (past visit to a friend living there) but I've never tried attending a Dolpa.

To clarify, at-door sales are not a good idea for Dolpa, unless you have no other choice. They don't start selling tickets until the event officially opens, which means you have to first wait in line for a ticket, and then go to the back of the have-ticket line to wait again until you can get in the door. It means you're sure to be last and miss out on stuff.

Be sure to buy before the day of the event, either online or at a Volks store.

I'm actually arriving on the 6th ^^ I'll be in Kobe before Kyoto. The last time I ordered the tickets I did have more time (they were on sale earlier and I was leaving later), but they shipped it to me super-fast. I'll see how it turns out this time. I ordered it on the 14th, they shipped it on the 23rd, and it arrived on the 25th.

Yeah, I hope so! I was wondering when they would announce them with events going on all the time (I think they were shipping the Macross preorders, then there was advertising the Rin/Takane, the event, the after event, and shipping Rin/Takane...). If they aren't releasing new DDs for the Dolpa, maybe it's so they can finally tell us more about Rin and Len.

I think they are too busy with production of snow miku...

I hope they will stop voicaloid stuff after rin and len (i can dream...). It kills the creativity. Too much easy income :/

just my 2 cents !

This may be a bit of a long shot but what if the Rin Shibuya rerelease is in Dolpa? I looked back on the original thread announcing her rerelease and it looks as though they haven't announced her release date yet... Or more details, for that matter aside from she's getting a rerelease and a prototype on display rather than a billboard.

Like I said I could be wrong on this as I don't have an idea of when they usually announce the DDs for Dolpas, but it's a theory.

I don't think they'd have an un-announced re-release at a Dolpa. More likely, there's just no DD for this Dolpa so they can catch up on production (Snow Mikus, likely) and maybe they're planning on announcing the Rin / Len pre-order soon. (Altho I have a sneaking suspicion that Rin / Len won't be formally announced until the fall.)

Excited for Sheryl's military outfit. Do you think they'll release enough outfits for it to be available in the after party event or for those outside of Japan?

According to the official website here: http://www.volks.co.jp/macrossf/en/dress_sn03/

It'll be available on the After Event (of course) on April 2nd, but it'll also be re-released later in summer!

I have to figure out how to get my hands on that blue check outfit. It's precious.

Waiting for eternity for Volks to release more Idolm@ster girls.
