Got my first DD.. are they always this loose feeling?

I got a brand new DDdy Miko that someone just wanted the head/clothes from, so basically a stock DDdy3 body that was unused in box. I took it out of the box and immediately noticed that compared to my smart doll the joints were very loose. The smart doll is the only thing I have to compare it to, which you can hold just her thigh and it will hold up her whole body without moving much at all. My DDdy will just droop under its own weight, and im sure it doesnt help that I put a Peach Pai Plus on it that is a little heavier, but basically it hardly stands on its own.

Is this normal? Am I just used to the smart doll which apparently has a superior skeleton? I have on order a reinforced internal neck piece since I have a SQlabs head on this and it doesnt sit right on the bent dy3 neck. Should I look into reinforced metal skeleton parts as well?

I can't compare to a Smart Doll or Peach Pai, but of the 14 DD that I have the only looseness I have found to any of them is when they are in a sitting position and you pick them up the legs will shift from a sitting pose to more of a kneeling pose on their own. It doesn't happen on every one of them though. I've never had any of them droop, and I tend to pick them up by he thigh when removing them from a saddle stand. They all stand perfectly straight on a stand and can stand on their own although some are harder to balance than others.

I would observe if you add a heavier bust and if that SQ labs head is resin then you may have too much weight on the upper part of the frame. The DIII frame was design to maximize movement, and earlier version of it did sacrifice strength to get there. This caused an issue with joints cracking, so they re-enforced parts of the frame in a later revision of the DIII. Not sure how much of the DIII design applies to the DDDy though.

I'll go out on a limb and say they would have designed the frame around use with Volks busts and Volks heads.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

Well I just want you guys to know im a noob and my legs were not pressed in all the way... I am not used to how the DD leg pegs kind of slide up and down and I felt like I was gonna break it or something but they were sticking out a bit. Pushed em in real good and shes sturdy now.

Sigh. I feel so much better now lol. after i already ordered coolkat reinforcements oh well. I guess they cant hurt

The cool cats re-enforcement are a good investment. I can't speak for the DDDy, but given the frame issues on the older DIII bodies I put them on all my girls to be safe. They are a pain to get on one-piece torsos, but on a two piece they are an easy install. You may find her joints are a bit tighter after installing them.

I'm glad you figured out how to push her legs in! Sometimes limbs kind of work their way out a little.

Some of my DDs are a little more loose jointed than others, but I do love how nicely they hold poses compared to my heavy resin BJDs. I also have a couple whose feet almost fall right out, even though they were brand new from Volks.

Yeah I already have the Wolfenreich 3d printed replacement shoulders that support the peach pai better and they are awesome! They definitely were slightly too tight and I had to sand them out just a tiny bit but the arms are super strong with them on and it supports the pai nicely and makes sure the silicone doesnt get caught on anything. So I figure getting the thigh reinforced cant hurt either.
