KnittingFury Posted March 25, 2016 Hi! My name's Izzi and this is the first forum I have ever joined. I only hope to meet lots of new people who share my interest in dollfie dreams. To be honest I am a very young dollfie owner, but I want to set the record straight that my age doesn't at all affect my ability to care for my dollfies, apart from a slight lack of income! Luckily my girls aren't greedy and we are a nice happy family. I have two dollfies at the moment (And counting!). There's Aria, my DD Yukino Ver. 2, and I just recently got my hands on a DDS Nanami head- body coming soon. I hope to be able to post some pictures of them when I get the chance, but the bane of DD owners in the UK is that it's quite difficult to get hold of outfits without a large customs charge. When I bought Aria she came with a totally unexpected 100 pounds customs charge, something that didn't exactly help my family's already disapproving view of my doll collecting hobby... I am an avid music lover, as you may have guessed from Aria's name! I love playing music and listening to music. However, mine and Aria's tastes in music aren't really too similar... She prefers classical music to play on my piano, however I listen to dubstep in my spare time (Yes, fear me!). Let us only hope when I get my next dollfie she is up to a little bit of heavy metal! Well, I guess I have waffled on long enough for my first post, but since I have just been out doing a photoshoot I might go and post some pictures of Aria. Thanks for reading! niko Posted March 26, 2016 (edited) Hi! Welcome! Customs charges are really the worst. It's really annoying having to pay a lot of money for a doll, and then having to pay even more to get it in the country. I wish there was a DD shop in Europe. I'd love to see pictures of Aria! the Yukino DD is really beautiful, I hope to own her too someday. Edited July 20, 2017 by Guest
KnittingFury Posted March 26, 2016 Haha! It's nice to know someone else has gone through the terror of Customs... A DD shop? In Europe? I would die of excitement since I basically go through DD supplies daily Yeah, my mum started to accept it and even started to buy clothes and things for my doll on her birthday, but still doesn't quite understand paying so much for a doll. I do understand her view of course, and I'm so glad my parents let me continue the hobby, or even agreed to buy me one in the first place! I know some people don't really like the Volks standard models, but I did fall in love with Yukino on first sight and she does look really sweet in photos- I promise to get some on here soon, but I'm not very good with technology
pandy Posted March 26, 2016 Hey there welcome! Hope you enjoy your time here and get a chance to post pics of your girls when your Nanami is put together, I really like Nanami she's soo cute! do you plan on getting her sis Natsuki/Moe someday? ^^ I'm so sorry about the ridiculous custom fee D': dissaproving family members sounds familiar, my friends family is like that too and she don't even have her first dd yet lol. The different taste in music sounds interesting, So, How did you discover dollfie dreams? And I will say I'm kind of surprised to see so many new hobbyist being kinda young but there's nothing wrong with that. I hope you feel welcomed here regardless and take your time to post and look around the forum. Instagram★Flickr
KnittingFury Posted March 27, 2016 I always really liked the DD limited models so finding Nanami was stroke of luck... I really like Moe's head too, so I might get her in the future- let's wait and see! My odd story of discovering Dollfies was actually when I was looking for Blythe and Pullip dolls. I always liked the idea of having a special doll that was a collectors item, just the responsibility was tempting haha! So I was scrolling through Google and then I saw a beautiful picture of a Yukino 2nd Ver. and investigated further... Upon seeing the price I showed my parents. I never thought they would ever even consider buying her... Got called into the living room in December to find a very special Christmas present! Since then my parent's seem to be slightly regretting this decision haha! I'm interested to see how other people got into the Dollfie Dream hobby. I'm very surprised to see some other young owners on here- it's very nice! Looks like you got your friend into the hobby too then? My friends think I'm kind of crazy for spending so much haha!
