iPOUT Posted March 25, 2016 Long story short I ordered parts of a used mdd outfit from ebay and they have noticable stains on them. To be exact it was the shirt, skirt, ribbon, and cape from Noumi's full set. I'm not mad since I got them for a very good price, but I have absolutely no item how to clean the stains. The stains are for the most part just on the cape and shirt. I will probably post pictures later if needed.
BeyondTime Posted March 26, 2016 There is an extensive tutorial here on how to machine wash doll clothing. The subject of the blog is color fixing, but the machine wash process is the same one you'd use to wash dirty clothing. http://www.figure.fm/en/post/37254/Tutorial+How+to+Color+Lock+and+Stain+Proof+Dollfie+Dream+Clothing.html I have never machine washed doll clothing so I can't begin to comment on if it is safe or not. I would agree spin cycle is probably bad for fragile doll clothing, so front loaders that lock and which aren't fancy enough to let you disable the spin cycle should probably be avoided. You also have to be careful about washing items that have dark colored fabrics stitched together with white fabrics. The dark colors can bleed onto the whites. When I have had to wash doll clothing items I've done it by hand in Woolite for Delicates, and used Resolve for spot cleaning as needed. Twin Pines makes a spot remover for doll clothing. http://www.twinpines.com/Perk I haven't used it, but their vinyl stain remover Remove Zit is well regarded by people here. Maybe someone else can comment on if Perk is worth the $16. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
Marilyn Posted March 26, 2016 I'll echo the sentiment about being very careful with outfits that have both light and dark fabric. I hand-washed a white outfit from YahooJP that had ribbon details, and even though I was careful, one of the pink rosettes ran slightly. I'm tempted to try taking a doll outfit to the dry cleaners since we have a place that charges $2.29 regardless of what's cleaned. It might be worth doing just to see the look on their faces when they're handed it… Dollfie Dream Cheryl |♥| Smart Doll Ebony Futaba ♥ Order a doll… empty the bank account… feel like so. ♥
