what kind of games do ya'll play?

last month was my third year in FFXIV, so decided to take a then and now photocombo ... although I didnt quite properly remember just how bright lavender the hair was when I started out with the Miqo'te ...

also intentionally the minor mood difference between the two... but I guess thats to be expected when you spend a certain time with something.

 

Oh yea... cant forget to mention Fallout New Vegas ... this is a giggle for any movie buff...

The assault popoto (Incidently also Dunesfolk, with form and function) is now semi-retired, and is pretty much consigned to FC workshop/inventory running ... if Id actually ever get around to sorting that side of things.. heh

the only alt im giving more or less time for (I also have a Au-Ra loafing around) is my level-boost solo experiment Hyur, that how far you can go in the story without having to resort to a party:

... which is currently stuck behind Niddhogg, though that should be soon sorted once I get the character to level 80 this week thanks to Khloe...

Animal crossing for life! And some sneaky stardew Valley for good measure! 

I play FFXIV too, and as a Lalafell! I only picked it up at the beginning of this year after playing WoW on and off since 2009, but man I already feel such a connection to the game! ^^

I am now enjoying a nice RPG adventure with my friends - it is called Divinity II, and it is really well made. Too long of a game, really, but quite enjoyable! The fact it is fairly old doesn't impact the gaming experience, which is high quality nonetheless. 

I play FFXIV as well! I am a boring old Hyur though. I keep meaning to make a Lala alt, they are such cute little terrors.

I´ve been playing Animal Crossing New Horizons for more than a year 😅

Another Final Fantasy XIV player chiming in. Although I have to admit I haven't played for a while now. But when I do, I'm a dark skinned Miqo'te who enjoys swinging around axes and whatnot. :3

Other than that, I play mostly RPGs. And I've been having quite a lot of fun playing Genshin Impact recently.

Been really big into Ace Combat 7 and played that for a good while. I take breaks from it until I decide I want to start a new game. It's honestly addictive. Been wanting to get a PS2 emulator to go back and experience Ace Combat 4, 5, and Zero. Been a big fan of the soundtrack for all of the series and it's hooked me since.

 

I've also been going into Planet Coaster and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 because I like having my virtual sandbox to just relax and build stuff in. That or Persona 5 Strikers (when I ever find  myself finishing it. I'm terrible at Musou games and got really frustrated at a jail far into the game).

Ace combat is quite neat! I remember playing Ace Combat 2 on the PS1 back in the day. Although, I have to admit, I just looked up a video, and I seem to remember it looking a lot better than it did. 😄

 

I play either grand strategy games or simulation type games. My current love is Crusader Kings 3, but I also play Sims 4, Civilization 6, Banished, and occasionally some Skyrim.

I feel like once Ace Combat jumped into the Strangereal universe, it found its footing with the franchise. From what I've seen, AC4 has an amazing story that kicks off the entirety of its flagship superweapons. Also the music is so effing good, I can't stop listening to it.

I also play FFXIV! And I got into shaders.

This is my favorite glamour; the headpiece was difficult to get. When I progress content I use this set so it means things are getting serious if I'm wearing this. Garuda and her weapon are always with me~

 

For something more traditional. Watching the ships come into port in the early morning and enjoying the sunrise. 

 

Shaders are about the eat up a lot of my time.

Shaders can make this already good looking game look amazing.

For some reason the FFXIV shader addons havent really been appealing to me personally... but then again im a stubborn git who tried to learn photography and not photoshopping, with a varied result ... anyhoo...

the latest FFXIV patch came and went, and I guess I am where I want to be with equipment more or less... since not a heavy metal hardcore raider and all...

And yea... been spending too much G-posing at some point, though havent done it in over a year now... because motivational reasons... though the augmented ranged Cryptlurker set is quite fab which is my main boring glam at the moment...

Also been working on a second round of Cyberpunk now as a corpo versus the first as a nomad, and Subnautica Below zero got a chunky enough patch to warrant playing it again

Speaking of Subnautica - the original game was one of the free "Play at Home" games on play station a couple of weeks ago. I had it on my radar for a while but never picked it up until then (wasn't sure if it would play well with a controller - and my PC is a potato, when it comes to gaming). Turns out it plays decently enough with a controller and it's lots of fun.

I'm also playing a fair bit of Kerbal Space Program, Xenoblade Definitive Edition and recently New Pokemon Snap.

I do like it quite a lot - but I used to play the old one to death, back on my N64. If you liked the old Pokemon Snap, you'll have a blast playing the new one. Otherwise it may depend on what you're expecting from the game?

Everything in the game feels crafted with lots of attention to detail (and in that regard it's leagues ahead of Sword and Shield). Many cute Pokemon and funny interactions between them. The story itself isn't too long but if you want to explore all the things you can do on the courses, you can sink quite a few hours into the game.

Post-game also gives you a high-score for every course, for that extra arcade feeling.

Wow!  Nice armor set although I know nothing about FF XIV online. I had been considering playing FF as well as W.o.W., but just am not really social. 

I've played since it came out ESO for awhile until my Xbox failed me!  Replaying some old Nintendo games on the Switch (Legend of Zelda Link to the Past); PS4 Ghost of Tsushima; Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4...

I still need to play Ghost of Tsushima someday. I've heard great things about it.

I reinstalled Fallout New Vegas on my PC to try out the Frontier mod and then uninstalled it after the writing was almost laughable and hard to play through with. Also once Fallout 4 got the animerace mod, I feel like I can't ever go back to default vanilla Fallout 4. Still a fun game though, especially with those settlements.

Keep in mind that FF XIV forces you to do dungeons as part of the story. You’re not required to be social, especially if you’re playing DPS jobs, but just a fair warning that there’s a minimum of required interaction with others.

 Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is the same, but I've also had to back away from online games due to toxic people from time to time.  I really don't mind being social, but sometimes its difficult.  DPS jobs are stressful.  I was DPS in ESO and it was just draining having to parse and farm for gear etc!   I hated having to parse. LOL.

FF XIV always looked like fun, but I'm not sure how they determine DPS and if you parse like in ESO.
