Bloodflower Posted November 5, 2012 I'm right now trying to find some new games to play, but recently I've been playing Ib and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. I'm giving both a recommendation to gamers out there. yama Posted November 5, 2012 I've got very little time for games but I still try to play Guild Wars 2 for a few hours every Saturday. I'm yama.2489 on Stormbluff Isle. My main is a Mesmer and I got her to level 33 this past weekend. I'm big on the exploration aspect of MMOs and a very casual gamer so GW2 is perfect for me. I also like to play the occasional adventure game and Monkey Island 2 is my favourite there. The last game I finished was Machinarium, which I liked very much. I'm considering picking up the two so far released chapters of Deponia at some point. I'm also looking forward to the continuation of The Longest Journey/Dreamfall that was announced recently. Oh, and I'm of course following Double Fine Adventure since I backed that on Kickstarter. ^^ Hi! My name is yama. I am niced to meet you.™ ↑ All Most of my Volks junk. Galvatim Posted November 9, 2012 I beat Halo 4 the other night. The campaign is only about 7 hours long. It's too bad the Spartan Ops portion is X-Box Live Gold only... Overall, a lot of fun, although the storyline is getting a little silly... (Ancient spacefaring humans did battle with the Flood and Forerunner? Yeah...) blueboy57 Posted November 13, 2012 Damn...maybe I won't ask for Halo 4 for Christmas lol. I've been playing a lot of Assassin's Creed 3. It's pretty awesome and really long, especially if you do all the side stuff. Plus there's this connection for me (and probably a lot of Americans) since it's set during the American Revolution. It just makes it better getting to play through historic events that helped form our country. Before that it was Dishonored. It was pretty awesome. I can't think of very many first person stealth games so it's kind of in a category all it's own. Then there's the steampunk element. Speaking of which has anyone ever tried to explain Steampunk to someone who hasn't seen Steamboy? lol...it's friggin hard. Anyway, never finished Dishonored before I got ACIII so gotta remember to go back and do that. DD Family: Kara (Power Girl) HDD-02 & DDDyIII
JoltFiend Posted November 18, 2012 I've picked up a few games recently; Forza Horizon for the X360, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward for the Vita, and AKB48+Me for the 3DS. I've also gone back to playing Diablo III and WoW since I was able to get a copy of the Mists of Pandaria expansion for dirt cheap. It's hard to find time to juggle all these games
DJStarstryker Posted November 20, 2012 Got the three Idolm@ster Shiny Festa games in Akihabara for good prices on Sunday. Fun stuff. But then again, I'm a fan of Idolm@ster and of music games, so it fits me well. Are you ready to rock? ^_^
zeni Posted November 20, 2012 Huge fan of fighting games, especially arc system work ones, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Arcana Hearts series and little bit of SF4 now and then. And my friend owns persona 4 ultimate for jpn ps3, as its not released in EU yet and full region lock on it Too weird to live, too rare to die. @home: Alter2 Aoko Aozaki Alice Kuonji
Anna-neko Posted November 24, 2012 currently blazing thru Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward This game needs to come with a Radical-6 warning sticker... as it eats time like no other! Go in thinking just gonna do a quick chapter or two before bed & suddenly its 6:30am, the DS battery is screaming for juice and my brain is overflowing with all sorts of conspiracy theories for where the story is going with this or who's Zero Sr
AdeptZero Posted November 26, 2012 Picked up Tales of Xillia 2 earlier this month but haven't gotten a chance to play it. I still need to finish the first game as I believe I'm 2/3's through the game. I guess at least I've got something to look forward to after 5 exams in December.. DJStarstryker Posted November 26, 2012 Recently picked up Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia from Akiba. Started Fate/Stay Night earlier today. /Finally/ got to the part where Shirou summons Saber. The amount of text in this game is quite immense, even for a visual novel. Shaipnoy99 Posted November 30, 2012 I'm a fan of RPGs myself, but I have this terrible habit of playing one until a new one comes out and then I rarely ever go back to the previous games. I have so many unfinished ones, it's sad I tell my co-workers my story of how prior to Final Fantasy XIII, the last FF I finished was SNES Final Fantasy III. Aside from RPGs, I also like racing games, puzzle games, Diablo style games (for some reason, Titan Quest: Immortal Throne has been getting almost non-stop play), and music/rhythm games. Rocksmith has been the main reason I've been turning on my PS3 every day and neglecting my X360. Sounds like me in a nutshell. Although most of my ps3 games are still wrapped in plastic. So I guess you could say I collect these types of games lol. But I also play FPS like COD:MW3 and BO2. JoltFiend- what class/faction do you play on WoW? JoltFiend Posted November 30, 2012 I just got back into WoW, and I rolled a new Troll Shaman. I had a Panda Monk running Horde, but I wanted to delete it and make it Alliance, since I made it on the server where all my Alliance friends were playing. I can't delete since I still have some sort of inventory that's keeping me from doing so. Prior to coming back, I was playing a Worgen Warrior.
Kouriel Posted November 30, 2012 I like playing RPG games like Dragon age and Mass Effect. I love the old FF games. Sadly, FF13 didn't get me very excited. I love Silent Hill. But I'm too scared to play them myself. Luckily, my boyfriend plays them for me and I can watch them like a movie.
Eos Posted December 5, 2012 Barely started on Final Fantasy XIII... The tutorial is freaking long! On other days I'll be on Dragon Nest
SchroedingersCat Posted December 9, 2012 I like playing RPG games like Dragon age and Mass Effect. Bioware's RPGs have sucked away years on my life, I swear. Why do they have to be so good? I used to play WoW quite a lot, but since Mists came out I just don't enjoy it anymore. I feel like they made it too grindy. The dailys are a pain and so time consuming, the heroics are too easy and don't provide enough reward to justify the boredom. I suppose the game evolved into something that's not aimed at me anymore On the other hand, it's given me plenty of time to get into other games I've been meaning to play. On Kingdoms of Amalur at the moment, and the depth of the world is incredible. It feels like a modern version of Baldur's Gate in a lot of ways. More Diablo 3 is getting played too, and lots of Mass Effect and LoL. Now with +/- 15% more uncertainty!
finnleo Posted December 9, 2012 Happened to find a very discounted Stray sheep edition of Catherine at a games store, and my masochistic side took over, and started a replay of it with an actual EU release (previous one i had was a US edition)... now trolling the first time answers by doing a "Im a very bad man" run of the story.. heh. That will make it easier for many fans. Nigoki Posted December 10, 2012 I've got pretty broad tastes; Fighters, FPSs, RPGs and RTSs tend to be my favourites, but I often go through phases of just playing the hell out of one genre or another, and there pretty much aren't any genres I've played that I haven't enjoyed at least one or two games over the years. That said, the last game I finished was Halo 4 and right now I'm working through Persona 4 Golden on the PS Vita. I tend to prefer playing on a gaming PC where possible, but I've collected each of the main consoles and handhelds, and I'm not opposed to playing console or handheld only games on them when they come out. I still want to play that game. But my gaming backlog is incredibly long and that one is becoming lower and lower priority the longer it's out and I don't have it. Yeah, it is. It's only on Honey Sound, which has Chihaya. Shiny Festa is actually incredibly easy to play even if you know zero Japanese. It being a music game, it has practically no storyline. I'm thinking it's not going to be localized. But you never know. I have been surprised in the past for games that I thought would never be released outside of Japan. Misheru Posted December 10, 2012 Thanks. I have been thinking about getting it anyway. I made it through Idolm@ster 2, even if I didn't understand everything. Namco has quietly registered Idolm@ster and shiny Fiesta Trademarks in both the EU and North America, so they may be considering bringing one or more of the games to us - though I hope against hope that if they do they do *not* attempt to 'localize' (aka ruin) any of the songs with an English rendition. Highlander Posted December 19, 2012 JRPGs and such - mostly White Knight Chronicles 2 on PS3 recently, I lead an in-game adventurers guild in WKC2. I also play driving sims (ege Gran Turismo), platformers and mild action titles. And then there are the more unique games such as IdolM@ster 2 on PS3 (using online guides since I don't speak/read Japanese). Ah yes, the curse of the translated song... Let's hope they don't do that. Love to see Idolmaster here though? I haven't played WKC2 though, how does it compare to the first game? Highlander Posted December 20, 2012 Ah yes, the curse of the translated song... Let's hope they don't do that. Love to see Idolmaster here though? I haven't played WKC2 though, how does it compare to the first game? White Knight Chronicles 2 is much better than the first. The battle is much smoother and faster, I recently went back to play the original and the contrast was incredible. The older game seems so very slow by comparison. There is a little more to do in battle now as well since the type of attack and element used can have quite an impact on the damage done. Online you can play with up to 6 on a quest and have the option to quest with two of your NPCs instead. The game has guilds now as well, and of course the completion of the story. The graphics are a bit upgraded, not hugely, but a bit, and you can now advance as far as level 80, guild rank 30. The player also gets their own Knight to transform into for battle - the knight is upgradeable. There are dozens and dozens of quests. The only downside is that there are several things that were implied before launch that we have not yet been given. Without getting into the entire saga and argument, we are missing a 10 part sequence of quests that tell a story that stars the player's avatar, something like 60 other quests (30 individual quests with a 1 and 2 version), many armor and weapon items and gear for the player's knight. I'm possibly not the most unbiased person to ask since I lead a guild (believe it or not my guild is called NekomimisFTW!) in the game and have something like 2000 hours of play in the last 18 months... But it's definitely an upgrade and worth the current price of $20. The Highlander ~The H side of H&M House of Vinyl~
SchroedingersCat Posted December 20, 2012 Sounds like they put in some serious effort then. I enjoyed the first game, but it did always feel a little slow. I may have to try out the sequel. Now with +/- 15% more uncertainty!
