How was your Halloween?

Recommended Posts

Mine was................boring as always. Strangely or not I felt a little more empty inside this Halloween,\. I figure its because since I got in liking DD's not having one is making me depressed lol I always feel happier when I'm on the forum and I read everyone's posts and looks at all the pics of their beautiful daughters. I felt like I missed out on something special. If I have a daughter by now I'd be taking pics like crazy, shoving candy and soda down my throat, and making fun of horror movies with my daughter....oh well...my grandma came over to see my 2 year old sister but basically I was on the forum almost the whole day researching all I can about DD's.

Anywho enough of my dramatic side...how did your Halloween go? What did you and your girls do to celebrate?

Check out my Flickr account for pics of my random artwork: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikoakiko23/sets/72157627987461066/

Hopefully I should have pics of a first daughter by next year ^^

I dressed up as a cat and wore a purple wig. I brought a couple of my DDs to work. We had zombie cupcakes with green frosting and cookies. I had some little plastic jack-o-lanterns that are DD size, so my DDs went trick-or-treating. One of the other labs even had tiny gummy bears to offer. We traded them cupcakes and cookies.

In the evening, I went to my friend Tommy's house. I passed out candy and hung out with Tommy's two dogs while he took his kids trick-or-treating. It was fun to see all the costumes.

Thank you, MikoAkiko23! I hope you can get a DD soon to spend holidays with or just to eat lots of candy with.

Sadly, I had to work a RenFaire the 29th and 30th, so this Halloween for me ended up mostly consisting of resting. However, my littlest doll Skye (my little 1/6 scale zombie girl) and Ichiko had little trick or treat pumpkins and got some candy corn each. ^^ I sadly didn't really have each doll in costume this year, as a new boy suddenly arrived at the house, and Ichiko seems to have taken a bit of a liking to him ( Photostory soon for that one. ^^)

However, typically my Halloweens just involve watching horror movies, since where I live, we don't tend to get any trick-or-treaters.

This year I went to my parents' to help with the trick-or-treater thing. They moved this year, from a neighborhood with zero Halloween traffic to one with tons. Mom and I both got dressed up and set up a couple Halloween themed tables in the front yard, with the jack-o-lanterns on one, and Agatha with some other spooky knicknacks on another. (If you're wondering: I was a blue-and-white fairy, my mom was a Renaissance noble, and Agatha was a witch.)

Thing is, despite having five whole bags of candy, we ran out by about 7:30 or so! Then had several people actually come up to the *dark* house and ring the doorbell; this set off the dogs. Avoiding having them bark like that was the whole reason we'd been in the front yard to begin with, so having people not get the message "Dark house = no candy" was kind of annoying.

Beyond that, though, it was definitely a fun Halloween. I got to carve a pumpkin for the first time in about nine years (le gasp), spent some time with the parental units, and even got to see someone dressed as a Starbucks Latte.

In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.

I actually just switched back to my old position and hours at work starting yesterday. Started work at 5pm so I sadly could not join in on the Halloween fun :/ And over the weekend none of my usual friends were throwing parties/doing scary mazes/etc so the Sailor Moon costume I purchased sadly didn't get to see the light of the moon puu~ I'll just have to save it for next year and at least then I'll be able to get the boots for a complete outfit

So you definitely weren't alone MikoAkiko in not really being able to do anything for Halloween. For next year let us both be able to take pictures of our girls enjoying Halloween ^O^

Sounds like you had a good time Mitsuki! Zombie cupcakes, sounds delicious *o* Plus your DD's got to trick-or-treat which is always fun for them

Was the RenFaire good this year LordNoir? I've never been to one :o I'm glad you got to rest yesterday and that you got your new boy! You'll have to show him off to everyone here

Halloween is not a big thing in Belgium. Surely not for "adults".

I went to work with my Miku Hatsune hat and celery and only a few remarks were sincerely positive. Most were fake, the question whether I was feeling ridiculous wearing that...

It is a pity because I work at an American company, but people don't really give a damn about the day.

In the evening, we tried to attend some special movie session (4 horror/suspense movies in a row from 10:30PM on), but it was already sold out. The tickets were only sold at the movies and we live in another town. We ended up watching Contagion. I really loved it!

Not much Halloween like, but we enjoyed ourselves.

Even if it isn't a big thing in Belgium, people should be more respectful of those who want to celebrate such a fun holiday. I've always gone with the saying that if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. I'm glad that you wore your Miku Hatsune Hat and carried her signature leek (Miku doesn't carry celery, but she could it is a vegetable after all ) and didn't care what others thought! At least there were some people who appreciated your mini costume!

I would have surely told you that you looked very cute because I love Miku

I edited my original text just in case (and your text too, sorry)... I shouldn't have been so specific.

It is a pity, but that is how it was.

Anyways, I did enjoy myself in the evening. That is what counts.
