Customizing Rin v2

I feel your pain. I've been through my own little personal hell trying to get eyes that work the way I want in my girls.

At least with being able to go to Dolpa you get access to some of the nice resins that are otherwise hard to come by.

Glad tortei eyes worked! It's a pity when resin eyes yellow. 

I'm glad you're happy with the Tortei ones, I like Tortei a lot! (Mel and Bri have Tortei eyes in the same style but different colours - a different style to what you got but they're really bright and catch the light amazingly)

That's 'cos I haven't posted my ordeal, though only with mostly (cheaper) Volks eyes in my case.

I'm not sure it was more though, but for sure I've given @foo a run for it.

Ok these work. The color of the deep blue one is better but they're not metallic so they don't glow at all. The lighter blue makes these have more contrast, and they generally look good all the time.

RIN HAS EYES AGAIN!!! I can take photos of her again! And change her outfit, she's been in that forever because I just couldn't do anything with her.
 

Gods, I just love what you do with your dolls. Your Rin is just so perfect.
 

I think the light blue really suits her, it softens her look, and it goes really well with the color of her wig. The Lizanna Sapphire was perfect for her, but this is really nice too.

I wish Juu Yuki was still around because I would love a pair of those Sapphire eyes for my Rin.

 

Edit: So I went and checked out some of my resin eyes. I have resin eyes by Blue Rose Garden, and eyes by Lizzanna. I have them stored in two different containers, and a mix of each maker in both containers. They were all purchased around the same time, say within 6 months of each other. One of the containers gets some exposure to light every day, and the other is kept in a dark closet. Both have clear lids.

Regardless of where they were stored all of the eyes had a small and equal amount of yellowing, and the Lizzanna eyes are no more or less yellowed than the Blue Rose Garden eyes with one exception. There was a pair of Lizanna eyes that was still in it's original packaging, which was kept in the dark closet, and which was visibly more yellow than the others. I suspect you are correct and there was a bad batch of resin at some point.

I know this photo is a couple years old, but I just have to ask - how did you do the background for this?  That's the house in Kobe City that inspired her house in the game, right?  Did you just photoshop it, or did you actually go there in real life?

I went there on vacation and took a photo of the house, Rin actually arrived from Volks USA a couple weeks after I got home (that's why the caption is she's sorry she's late). This photo was done by displaying that photo on my monitor and having Rin in front of it, and the lighting is coming from a window. I actually had to flip the image of the house horizontally (it really looks like this) because the light had to come from the right side of Rin. I expected to flip it back but when I did the photo just looked weirdly disorienting to me so I left it like this.

I'm totally loving the brown hair on your Rin! Even though I know she has black hair, I've always felt the default wig was pretty harsh for her face. Combined with those gentle eyes makes her look so much sweeter than Tohsaka
