Help me put together my dolfie dream

I want to make this character. I was going to get the smart doll ebony futaba, but the face doesnt look right to me. Could it be fixed with mods, or is there a dollfie dream head that looks more like the character?

Also, eye and hair suggestions please?

^^; I don't think this is a wrong place for this thread, but for me at least patching the youtube link to a working state and trying to see what the character looks like in the video was difficult. Do you know the character's name? A still picture might be easier to say anything about this... I really couldn't see what her eyes are like or to be sure of her hair colour (purple?)

 

If she's tan there probably isn't much for choice in Dollfie Dreams as the only tan one is Kanu Unchou, but on the other hand she is more mature type so I'd think she could pull of the outfit the character has

I found the 3d model(btw I would not look up that characters name if I were you; I had no idea.)

The doll in the picture has the right skin tone, but the head doesn't match. I can't decide whether a ddh-07 or ddh-09 would look best or if there's a head I haven't even heard of that would look best.

Also, I have no idea what to do for the hair.

I'd say a DDH-09 as imo it's closer to what you'd want. The 09, however, is like the 08 and not quite as readily available as the 07. So if you would prefer not to hunt for it, I'd say go for the 07. Like Maarit mentioned, Volks has only done Tan with Kanu but there was another one, Sanji from their Lost Angels story. Neither of which appear to be as dark a tan as you'd like. There have been attempts to tan Dollfies and some of the results can be found here, if you wanna try that.

 

As for a wig, I have a LeekeWorld wig on my BJD and it feels wonderful, but if they don't have it there's also Crobi and Lullaby Poem. If you're also unsure about eyes, I have a pair of White Dolly Story eyes floating around and they are pretty. Dollfies generally take a 20-22mm size, but aside from WDS there's also lizanna (sp?) and other companies which can be found on [http://www.jadepixeldoll.com/where-to-buy-animetic-eyes-for-dollfie-dream/]Jadepixel's blog.[/url] (Which btw, also has more info on DDs like guides and a few sewing patterns like a head cap to prevent the wig from staining. )

 

The doll in the picture is a Smart Doll Ebony, released from a company (Smart Doll/something Culture) guy named Danny Choo. You can look at his other models not only here in the designated section (Look in "The Lounge", it's the last option), but on his website where he goes into detail on how they're made and the history of the company. It's pretty interesting (And at times funny) to read through. Smart Dolls (SmD) are about the same price as a DD, but they offer standard fullsets (Rather than slips, they come in T-shirts, jeans, etc.) and modern clothes. The fit between them and DDs is somewhat similar, but somethings will fit on their own company's dolls, but not the other (I.E. Shoes).

I figure I could straighten the wig and style the bangs. are there tutorials for that?

If you want to do any straightening, then make sure the wig you buy says it's made of heat resistant fibers. The methods used for straightening(or curling) wigs typically involves either a flat iron or hot water. If it isn't heat resistant, those methods will damage or destroy your wig! You don't want your wig fibers to melt.

 

As for tutorials, you can follow ones for straightening and styling synthetic cosplay wigs, other kinds of dolls with synthetic hair, etc. Just watch the amount of heat you're using carefully as you go along.
