starkitty Posted May 17, 2016 Just received my Hatsune Miku. I ordered her from Volks USA under their Miku EXPO 2016 North America promotion. Placed the order a few moments after it opened on May 6, 11:00 AM (Pacific time) - no problems on the web site and she arrived quickly. Couple of questions for Miku owners- 1/ I did not know she came with a full set of "normal hands", so I ordered a set. Now I have 2 - any suggestion how I can return or sell them ? 2/ Where can I get a short wig in about the same color ? 3/ Any good ideas for places to buy casual clothes for her (when she is not performing). Meanwhile I will enjoy cute Miku.
sinclair Posted May 17, 2016 1) I knew, but ordered a set anyway, as well as the paper hands. Now I don't have to worry about her getting her hand dirty. As for returns, I don't know. You can always try selling them on eBay. Someone is selling them for $68 there. 2) Don't know, but you could always find another Miku wig and cut it yourself. I bought a 2nd wig and plan to take the twin tails out so that she just has long hair. This will give me a couple hair styles without messing up her beloved tails. 3) I got some from Volks and eBay. But I would also love to find more myself.
Jezrah Posted May 17, 2016 Oh I wouldn't recommend taking the twintails out of a Miku wig. The part goes all the way down the back and will still be there even if you take the hair down. It won't rearrange like human hair. There are several shops that offer wigs in teal, it just depends on how picky you are at matching the Volks one precisely. Twin-tails and ponytails are usually put on a wig that is specifically set & trimmed a certain way to look like it was pulled up... If you take off the tail, you'll find just a tiny short stub underneath, which will just look ugly. Often the stub might even have the base coated in glue to stay stubby vice versa for tryin to put wigs into ponytails BTW - you end up with parts showing half the netting underneath as those straight-down long wigs aren't meant to be pulled up. This is why clip-on tails are such a blessing! Any straight wig can suddenly become with ponytails
sinclair Posted May 18, 2016 I learned something new, and luckily before I took the wig apart. Can you tell I'm new at this. Now like her hands, I have an extra wig in case I really mess up her hair.
zaylea Posted May 18, 2016 I was surprised when my Miku arrived and there was 2 sets of hands. The way her site was worded, I thought she had 1 regular and 1 outspread hand. I would probably just keep the spare hands in case they got damaged later. They could be hard to replace eventually. I've been finding myself wanting a short wig as well, but I haven't looked very hard yet. I feel like a teal or purple short alpaca wig could be really cute. I did find that the Tangle Teezer is really great for taming her pig tails in the mean time. I have a Standard Model Saki (so, SD10) and I have a lot of clothes from Volks and Dollmore in SD size that fit Miku as well. The best fitting clothes are of course the ones Volks makes that ONLY fits SS/S bust DD's, rather than the one size fits most type things. Otherwise, they're going to be a little baggy, which may or may not look bad depending on the outfit. Coolcat has a lot of casual clothes for DD's as well, just make sure you pay attention to the bust sizing
Anna-neko Posted May 18, 2016 I learned something new, and luckily before I took the wig apart. Can you tell I'm new at this well hey, before you know it you'll be just like the rest of us with full drawers of them! Sometimes you want your girl to have baby-pink braids, other days it's a flowing white with streaks of purple waves... or like 5 wigs in completely different styles but same perfect color You can always use that second wig to braid the twin-tails for new looks, or do the twist-and-pin updos PS: keep an eye on the forums for the Leeke World group orders. Their wigs are soooo nice, just sayin
ninagrim Posted May 18, 2016 I might have an answer for #2, If you look up cotin doll world shop they sell wigs made with an almost identical color match to the Volks Miku wig and they offer it in a few different styles. I have never contacted or ordered from them but they have an active facebook and an option to contact them through their website.

You can use a proxy to order from their Japanese site (I use the proxy dv8cag.com, they're awesome). Here's the link to Cotin Doll's wig section of their Japanese site: http://jp.cotindoll.com/shopbrand/ddwigs/ And this wig is the shortest Miku colored wig they sell: http://jp.cotindoll.com/shopdetail/000000004588/ddwigs/page2/recommend/ The prices are fairly high but they post a lot of good photos of their dolls wearing the wig, so I would trust buying from them ~$35 isn't bad for a good wig, and dv8cag's shipping+fee would probably be around $10-$13 for it. As for clothing, rRabit and Coolcat has nice casual clothes Coolcat also has an etsy store you can order from. rRabit's clothes are more Mori style and cutesy-casual. Nozomi02 Posted May 20, 2016 For My Doll's Vintage Green color is amazingly close. The color is slightly darker than Miku's default, but it matches the darker colors in her eyes, so still looks nice. I bought this wig for Miku for traveling, so she doesn't have to be bald, but I don't have to worry about her default wig getting messed up. http://formydoll.com/shop/step1.php?number=1890&b_code=B20090308035539&c_code=C20090308035648 At home: DDH-05: Kimiko DD Snow Miku: Miss Yum Yum Smart Doll Ivory: Yuki Smart Doll Chitose Smart Doll Eiji: Hotohori DD Saber Extra DDH-07/SmD Hybrid: Maki Smart Doll Harmony Smart Doll Twilight DDH-10 MDD: Anzu Futaba Smart Doll Crimson Kai: Takeshi
