How did you react when you saw your first Dollfie Dream?

that what i would do too to get the adresses if the places have a website .-)

I think I found out about them when the DDdy body had launched and I thought, "What huge boobs! I kind of want one...." Then I made the mistake of looking at all the limited edition ones and I was totally sold. I love anime so seeing some of my favorite characters come to life it's the best! ^^

Lol, those limited edition ones sure can make a person fall hard . Especially if they're based on your favorite anime characters!

Am I the only one who didnt like the DDs at all, in the beginning? I was chocked, they looked really creepy and kind of crazy in my eyes.

But...one day last year, I saw Yukino and I fell for her right away. I wanted her desperatly. But I got Sakuno first.

A friend on the internet sold her to me 9th of February (I hadnt seen that girl before, and she almost didnt have any mouth, a bit odd I thought, but I went out on the net and found photos of her and got madly in love with the little creature. And when she came home to me... Oh, what a girl... Photos cant make her justice. But... I couldnt get Yukino of my mind... and finally I found a fantastic person on this site who wanted to help me, and at the same time, I found her second hand in mint condition. So, I adopted her too. the 20th of February. And today the 5th of March Im getting the third one...(On layaway, off course)

(Tell you later today when everything is confirmed). Yes Im crazy and I am an addict...

There may very well be others out there and perhaps on this forum who may have not liked the way Dollfie Dreams looked at first, but then grew to like them a lot . That said, I'm glad you were able to find your first two girls and I hope things work out okay for your third!

Nope, you're not the only one. I was that way with bjds too; I only admired the realistic sculpts. Soon enough, the more stylized ones started growing on me. Now I keep looking at each new DD release with excitement . And as for how I reacted when I first saw one, I saw a DD at a convention and thought "wow, big boobs".

I saw a 'M' bust, and I was already going "Wow, nice bust!" My first time seeing a Dollfie Dream was on Danny Choo's website.

for me it was the anime eyes and face and the giantic breast..... why i want i and why i get one. my boyfriend normaly hates all of my dolls but this one he love and he was total agreed in buying.

 

that was the fastest, expenisve doll buyling and without a fight .

 

now he is thinking abaout one for him too.

 

but he want wait if i can sew some catsuits. he want a superhereo like black cat from spiderman

Bwahahahahaha! Totally know what you are talking about. I love expensive doll buying- especially when you're both excited about the purchase. ^_____^

My first exposure to DD's was on Danny Choo's site. I think it was a post showing off Mio and Yui from K-On! in their DD form. Yea, I'm still new to DDs.

 

At first I was very intrigued by them. I wasn't too crazy about the joints as I was very much into collecting PVC figures but I knew that if you wanted them to move they needed joints. I never thought they were weird looking but when I heard how much they cost! INSANE!!! hehe

 

It didn't take too many more visits to Danny's site till I found I was intentionally looking for posts he did about Dollfie Dreams. As I mentioned in my introduction on this site I decided I'd buy one but only one of them.... deep down I felt that wasn't going to happen but I tried to convince myself.

 

I now have Lily (my 3rd girl) coming home in 3 days time!

Seems like quite a few people learned of Dollfie Dreams via Danny Choo's site lol. Now hold the phone about that Lily...............................................She is so beautiful and unique!!!!!!!! I mean, she's one of those super limited, super duper hard to find and/or afford DD's! How did you manage to get her?!

Well my first one was Volks' Image character Aoi (who I later modified into my daughter Ash), well when she came in the mail I kinda bounce about my home holding the box... Sat the box down and did a little dance around it only to freak out cause she was naked in the box... Wow...I was so silly back then...

Well, in my case I didn't freak out, but one of my roommates did. Apparently, he doesn't like dolls; he said that dolls creep him out. And then, he went on about Chucky (Child's Play). But come on! Euphie's adorable! I pity the guy, and he's 23 years old!

 

But nonetheless, it's nice of you to share your story with us.

Lol, but don't feel bad. Being excited about your first girl's arrival is pretty normal I think .

The first one I saw was Danny's Saber. I thought it was so cool! I was familiar with the fate/stay night anime, and Saber was my favorite character from the show. Then I looked for more info online, and saw Rin. Found out they were not for sale anymore, and I remember thinking what the heck is this lottery thing? I didn't know anything about them at the time, and so I figured I'll just look at the pictures since I won't ever have one...

 

At the time, my sister was collecting barbies and fashion royalty dolls but she was already trying to stop spending money on dolls. I wanted to mess with her, and showed her some japanese dolls like j-dolls and momoko dolls online. She liked them enough and ended up getting a few of them, all this time complaining to me about how I got her hooked on more dolls. But then after I saw her dolls and how much fun she was having, I started thinking about DDs again, and wanted to show my sister one. See, I didn't buy it for me, I just bought it to show my sister a 60cm doll.

 

What ended up happening is that I got Aoi, and I was like wow! she's so big, and well endowed; she's expensive, but worth it. Then I got into it too, and now have three. So this all started when I was messing with my sister, and it backfired on me, and I ended up getting hooked as well, and spending more money than her. On the plus side, I think we've gotten closer because of this, so I'm not complaining

That's so funny about you and your sister! I tried to get my brother to see how cute DDs are but he still likes resin more. He likes the kind of sad and in need of comforting look some of them have. I love my DDs because they look happy or confident. I also have some like Sasara and Sakuno who look a bit troubled but still really cute.

I got lucky with the Lottery entry back in December. It's just been a few months of waiting but she's standing next to me now as I type.

 

jun97 - I loved your story about it backfiring on you. The main reason I went back to look at DD's more on Danny's site was to double check I got the price right or send a link to a co-worker about them. (at least that's my excuse) Seeing them more and more kept me interested. haha
