K-2 Posted March 5, 2018 We can't claim it as an original idea. We saw balloons used for latex dresses on 1/6 scale dolls. Finding the appropriate sized balloons for 1/3 scale dolls was the biggest issue. These balloons were from ebay and about $1.00 a piece. I ordered a half a dozen so I wasn't too worried about screwing one or two up. Sorry about the pink one, Kizuna. The balloon latex is rather flat and dull. We tried shining Chitose's black dress with Armor All wipes, but they didn't shine the latex up much, so Kizuna ordered a latex shining product from a store that sells latex attire. K-2 Posted March 7, 2018 The latex shine product arrived today so we set about glossing up their outfits. This is Chitose's red dress before application, kind of dull and matte. The beGLOSS Perfect Shine was applied by spritzing some on a microfiber cloth and then wiping Chitose's dress. The results are no less than spectacular. With such positive results, Kizuna had to have her gold dress done also. The difference in the gold after application wasn't as dramatic as the plain colors, but none the less the color perked up considerably. The color depth and gloss are amazing. There could almost be a tutorial just for putting these dresses on, but I doubt Kizuna and Chitose would want to be seen in it. I tried a number of different techniques but this one was the easiest. First, check your nails for rough spots and do a bit of clipping/sanding if necessary. Next embarrass the heck out of your girls by removing their head, arms, and bust (if medium or larger). Rotate the dress to orient the part you want in front. Slip the dress (wrestle) hem first, down over the neck/shoulders on to the waist area. Replace the bust. Rotate the dress again if needed. Carefully try to pull/stretch the skirt down over the hips and the top up over the bust. It's going to bunch up a lot so just be careful stretching it into place. I had to "adjust" the uncut top (the clear dress) on Kizuna as the balloon had enough pull to get her medium bust (breasts) all out of whack, pulling them to the left and/or right.
