Inside of smartdoll heads? (female or male)

I was curious, because i'm in the process of buying my own smartdoll as of now. but the one thing I've seen nothing at all of, is the inside of their heads?

I was hoping for perhaps some pictures of the inside of their heads perhaps? Male or Female, but i'd love pictures of both if that's possible at all.

Thanks for the video! I have seen that one before, but it really doesn't show the head very well still.. what i'm mostly worried about is I know with many ABS/Vinyl dolls, around the eye socket they have extra sticking out inside the head, making use of different eyes very difficult. and I've heard people say smart dolls do have that lip inside around the eyes, and some say it doesn't? So its all very baffling from the split comments, and lack of visuals.

You're in luck! I decided to change Kaito's eyes today. (He had some glass ones in for a while cos I'm slowly starting to collect more different types of blue eyes cos I like the idea of Kaito being able to change his eyes whenever he ruddy well feels like it)

I included the two kinds of eyes I've tried in him as well. As you can see they're pretty round, whereas his default Eiji eyes are a lot more flat. There arent really any 'eyewells'' that some BJDs have (not sure about Dollfie Dreams as I dont have one yet), the eyes are entirely held there by the putty/blutac.

You can barely see it draped over the headcap there too but I kept the little tag Danny puts in the heads that you can also see in Nozomi's pic. They're just a weird way of identifying when the doll was made (Mine I believe is the same as Nozomi's, 2016/1, or January this year) but a silly part of me thinks that its like a little charm he puts in to give them a soul.

 

I hope that answers your questions. I'm pretty sure the girls are no different other than their eye holes being bigger but I could be wrong. I've seen plenty of pictures of the girls with many different types of eyes though.

I am so utterly glad they don't have the weird lips around the eyes like obitsu's, it makes normal eyes unable to be put in at all~! This is fantastic to see!

 

And I must say, its awesome to see you give me this reply, I love your boy, Kaito is so pretty~ I see him all the time on tumblr, I sorta watch you constantly, been shy to hit follow XD eheheheheh

Oh that's really flattering to hear! You dont have to feel shy or anything, I'm just a 'nobody' in this hobby after all lol. Kaito is my first 'big' doll so I've been learning basically everything from him, although I want to get a DD and a 1/3 resin down the line so I can compare them all.

 

I was just looking in the DD marketplace and saw some pics of inside a DD head and its the exact same as the smartdoll so that answers my own question about that. I didnt know the obitsu had those pocket things until I looked it up myself.

Then I guess I shall man up, and follow you on tumblr! *nervous laughter*

 

But yeah, obitsu's are quite bothersome to deal with eye wise, And so many said they have lips inside their eyes so often with smartdoll that, I assumed it was like obitsu's!

Though good luck on the DD hunt, its hard to get one nowadays, most are pretty expensive last I knew on the market, even pre owned, or else i'd own a MDD by now. especially since they look like little sibblings to Smartdolls!

Thank you for posting the pictures - I now know that the label inside my Mirai's head means she was made earlier this year. I didn't know if it was an original label or one put in by her previous owner.
