Gamma Ray Posted May 27, 2016 I met up with my friend Marilyn for some beach photos yesterday. I brought my Dollfie Dream 2 Yukino, and she brought her Smart Doll Ebony. We took a lot of photos of our girls having a friendly evening on the beach. I decided to leave the bags in the shot because if I tried removing them, I knew I would have completely ruined a shot or two. They're officially part of the scenery. I rotated a few photos just to make sure the horizon was correct. My full set of photos is here: Many, many, many thanks to Marilyn for joining me yesterday! It was a total blast! sinclair Posted May 29, 2016 How fun, looks like a grand time. I would of been to worried about the girls getting dirty myself. Did you do anything to keep them clean, or are you just that much more careful then I tend to be?
Marilyn Posted May 30, 2016 Adding a few: And the shot that made me wish I had put Ebony's M-bust on. She didn't look quite so flat-chested until she was side-by-side with Yukino: For anyone wondering, this is what the lighting was like when we got there: You can see what it was like shortly before we left in GR's photos. The sun waits for no one… How fun, looks like a grand time. I would of been to worried about the girls getting dirty myself. Did you do anything to keep them clean, or are you just that much more careful then I tend to be? The girls were on a beach towel, but it was a beach, i.e. sand everywhere. Speaking for myself, I'm enjoying the hobby more now, taking small risks. I still treat my dolls carefully, but I'm OK letting them be in a real world environment for an hour for the purposes of photos. But of course I took Ebony apart and vacuumed her top to bottom, then lightly wiped her down when I got home. If I had one thing to do over, I would have put on mosquito repellent. I opted not to because I wanted my hands clean to handle the dolls and my camera, and the little vampires made me pay for it. The minute the last sliver of sun disappeared behind the clouds, they pounced. Next time, I douse myself in repellent and bring wipes to clean my hands after. Gamma Ray Posted June 1, 2016 Thank you for sharing your pics, Marilyn!!! It was really cool to do these photos with you. Thank you I really, really love the shot you got from above of our girls reading the book. It looks very cute. I wish I thought of doing that kind of angle. You've got a good eye for it And don't worry about Ebony's chest! Smaller breasts are beautiful, too Regarding sinclair's post, I can add this: I'm not sure, but I think my Yukino might have gotten some marks on her legs when she fell forward onto the sand. The reason I question this is because, looking at the sand in the second pic in my original post, there's not really anything dangerous there. It's just sand. Perhaps the stand I was using impacted her legs in some way. Her upper body, including her face, was totally fine. Much of it was covered by the swimsuit, but her face was still very exposed. The reason I think there may be some correlation with the sand is because, if I remember what happened last August correctly, when my Iplehouse EID Jessica (a resin BJD) fell backwards in sand and some rocks, some similar colors appeared on her body. Since she's resin, the color washed off easily. Right now, my Yukino's undergoing a 10% benzoyl peroxide cleanup since simply using a magic eraser didn't do the trick. It's entirely possible that the marks were there long before the beach, and I didn't notice them until I went looking for them after the beach. Marilyn, you might want to have a closer look at your Ebony just to make sure. Perhaps, just to be safe, next time I'll try to locate a larger towel or put two of the same type of towel side by side. I did take my Iplehouse SID Eva (another resin BJD) to this beach in the past and had no problems, so there's a possibility that I'm just being overly cautious. Marilyn Posted June 2, 2016 It's entirely possible that the marks were there long before the beach, and I didn't notice them until I went looking for them after the beach. Marilyn, you might want to have a closer look at your Ebony just to make sure. Ebony has a tiny mark on her thigh, but she's had that since she came out the SmD bag . I didn't notice it the first week I had her, and when I finally did see it I chalked it up to wabi-sabi. The sand—which stuck mostly to her oppai —didn't seem to have an effect…maybe because she's a different vinyl and/or darker tone? sinclair Posted June 7, 2016 I've got a cute swimsuit for my Miku now, and she's been wearing it for a couple days, but we have no beach for her to go enjoy. Perhaps I'll go get a kiddy pool for her...
