Tan Chitose Arrival

The shipping box was very nice! Brand very visible and recognizable. Maybe not great if you have a reason to hide your hobby. But for the husband and I, it isn't an issue. Keeping the shipping box for sure.

 

 

 

I adore the bag design! Everything fit inside it so perfectly, too.

 

 

 

I want to take this moment to clarify that I expected the little baggies for the items to be flimsy and 'cheap'. They're actually pretty thick for what they are! The seals for the bags are going to hold up for a good while if taken care of properly. I'm impressed! (I mean I expected good things off the bat, but I'm still impressed).

We were SCARED at first by how EASY her head popped off. Then relieved and thankful when we realized that was how she was meant to be and not broken. I want to cry every time I have to behead one of the Volks girls. Seeing how easily Chitose's head popped on and off was a breath of fresh air. The arm was a bit more difficult to remove, but easier than Volks. The arm seems to be lubricated? That's pretty cool!

We ADORE her default wig. It was so well packed and required minimal work once set on her head. It's a bit difficult to keep in place due to gravity and the style of the wig. I imagine some styling gel, etc. would help. However we don't really put anything in our wigs. Either way, high quality and insanely cute.

 

 

 

A little merch/brand love...

 

 

 

This is a Miruya wig. And we both ADORED the color and cut on her. However, while this fits our Volks girls very well, it is far too large on Chitose. I was so upset!! I adored this wig on her.

 

 

 

This black wig we got from baldylox also looked cute on her! It was a tad bit, even with a fabric cap. As you can see, the bangs shag over her eyes heavily. Cute none the less!!

 

 

 

We decided to let her stay in Sumiko's secondary wig for the time being. We think this is a Leekeworld wig if anyone is interested.

 

 

 

We didn't mess around with the telescopic stand much BUT IT IS A GODSEND.

 

 

 

3 Volks Dollfie Dreams and 1 Smart Doll!

Hubcap thinks he is going to name her 'Junko'!

So we will have Yuuko, Sumiko, Rinko, and... Junko!

 

 

We weren't expecting her to arrive today. Hubcap has been watching her tracking like a hawk, and she was still in Japan last time he checked! A very pleasant surprise. We're hoping to get Smart Doll Ebony next, now... We're smitten by tan Chitose!! Thanks for popping in! More pics on the flickr album linked via images here!!

Thank you so much!! She has some clothes and a wig on the way in the mail. Hubs is planning on switching her eyes out with a yellow pair too, eventually. I was iffy about getting a tan doll myself, but after seeing tan Chitose irl I've decided I definitely need a Smart Doll Ebony.

Oh, I wonder when he switched to date stickers instead of the little paper tags inside the heads? The stickers look more professional I think.

I'm super happy you got her for a couple of reasons. One is because you and your hubby are awesome dollie parents! She couldn't go to a nicer home. Two is because *I* have been wanting one of these girls and now that you have one, I can see her up close!

That tanned skin is soooo beautiful! ...I wish they would quickly release the Hand Set 2 in the Tea skin color, I'd love to get a tan Chitose if those hands came out!

Thank you! I have no idea he even did something like this in the first place! My only concern is over time, if you're not careful, the sticker may fall loose and loose it's adhesive. I guess we'll find out!

Thanks Billy!! Oh yeah, he watched and waited for preorders like a professional addict. And then he stalked the shipping all the same, hahahah. I'm glad to hear she looks good with our current girls. And of course she will be coming to the next meet! Hopefully in a wig and outfit that she can call her 'own' (even tho they all share).

 

Also thank you! We try to make the dolls comfortable here, hahaha. We can't wait to have everyone meet her. Maybe she can persuade you to adopt one as well.

Right?? I love this skin tone so much!! Hubs is really hoping for a hand set 2 in her skin color. Although I've heard switching hands on Smart Dolls is a bit intimidating?? What are your thoughts on that? Personally I was really scared just rotating her wrists as is.
