Which do you prefer? Acrylic, silicone, or glass Eyes?

Purchased a pair of acrylics myself recently . What about you guys?

All of mine are acrylic. Most are animetic eyes from Volks. I got a couple from Safrin Doll and some custom ones from Dollfie World:

That's nice, to be easy to work with I mean . So far acrylic eyes have 2 points while silicone and glass have 0, lol.

I'm pretty sure all my girls have the Animetic eyes. I like those best.

Neato! Acrylic's are on a roll with 3 points! Four if I include myself lol.

All my DDs have Animetic eyes. Mitzi, my Obitsu girl, has 16mm Volks metallic "Black" eyes. (more like dark amber) Z, my Obitsu boy, has 16mm custom Ersa Flora brown metallic eyes with one pupil bigger than the other. I also have glass pairs and other acrylics, but at this point all of them are sporting acrylics. I like metallic backed acrylic because they can get really cool catch-lights in them when I take pictures. They sparkle. They look more alive.

Nice variety you've got going on . I've never seen metallic backed acrylic eyes before, but with your description they'd probably look uber cool!

Indeed they are . What size are these if you don't mind me asking?

I want to say they are 18 mm. A bit smaller than the usual DD eye. Most of my other eyes are 22mm or 24mm. Other than Aoi, my girls still have their original eyes.

Wow! Aoi looks so intense with those eyes. I think the DD eye sockets are more shallow than typical resins face molds have, so they don't create the same shadows in the eyes.

I recall when Aoi was first posted with those eyes... intense isn't the word. SCARY is! I wouldn't cross her with those if you paid me to!

 

I'm glad she has her blue eyes now, they are so much more suited to her.

Those are Aoi-chan's Divinity II: Ego Draconus eyes. When she has those in, she can turn into a fire breathing dragon. At least that's what she says... Divinity II is so hard, you have level grind forever just to beat the first boss... I kind of lost interest and went back to The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.

Aoi-chan certainly has the dragon look with those eyes, that is for sure. I'd tend to believe her about that dragon transformation too... you never know what she's up to when you're away.

They are pretty adorable .

I don't even have my first DD yet, but I have decided to go with some acrylic animetic eyes for her.

For BJD's I always preferred glass or lately urethane ones, but a DD needs anime style eyes IMO.

 

Maybe someday someone could start making anime style eyes from urethane. I love them in BJD eyes, they are sooo shiny and catch the light so well. (*´∀`*)
