Which do you prefer? Acrylic, silicone, or glass Eyes?

I'm pretty much limited to acrylic or resin eyes because I only like animetic styles for my DD. I think I'd like glass or urethane though!

I prefer acrylic -- just because I love animetic eyes so much.. there have been a few glass ones I thought were really pretty but I'm not a fan of most 'normal' looking eyes b/c with dollfie dream/sqlab heads generally having such wide eye sockets, the eyes end up being rather small making this kind of look o__o (if that makes sense.. XD)

Hmm! This got me thinking! xD

Are resin eyes same as urethane eyes? *stupid newbie asking* o_O'

If so, is there some company making anime style resin eyes? :o Or urethane, or whatever, any other than acrylics only?

I know that Enchanted doll eyes does some unique custom eyes, maybe they could do some anime style ones. That would be coool, I love ED eyes. ヽ(´ー`)ノ

In order, I prefer urethanes, silicone, then glass. I almost never use acrylics unless I'd have eyeless dolls - though I do like Souldoll's acrylics because they seem more lifelike

If I'm not mistaken -- SQLabs are resin : )

Like a lot of others, I tend to prefer the acrylic, mostly due to the animetic eyes. I do think that the glass eyes seem to work really well for males, though, often having smaller irises. Tamayuki definitely looks much more boylike with his glass eyes than with any of the animetics we have around.

All but two of my resin kids are in urethane eyes. Glass is my second choice and that's what those other two are wearing. I've used silicone where necessary to get the best fit, but I don't like the look. I'll probably go animetic for DDs, although if I can find a resin or urethane eye that gives me the effect I want, then that will be my first choice.

Do resin eyes yellow over time like the dolls' resin?

Some of them do, at least the whites may fade a little or so I've heard.

I still prefer urethane eyes for their depth so far, even though I only own one pair, but they're more useful on regular BJDs rather than dollfie dreams since what makes them stand out is their ability to catch and reflect the light despite the small eye openings some dolls have.

For Dollfie Dreams I'm more than satisfied with just acrylics since they have such large eyes.

For resin it's definitely glass. For dd, I'm happy with the acrylic because I like the anime styling of them. Would be curious to see them in urethane though.

Do resin eyes yellow over time like the dolls' resin?

I know this is an older question, but I was sorting through my eyes the other day and I noticed that two pairs of my resin eyes have become quite yellowed. I bought them back in June 2012, so it's been a while, but they are significantly yellower than they were a year ago.

I may see if an oxiclean bath is able to clear up any of the yellowing...

I favor good glass for their durability and clarity, but will gladly take acrylic because they come in more exotic colors.

Never owned silicone eyes. I'm told they're good, but I use silicone earplugs for eye putty so I'd have to switch to something else. Honestly that's enough reason for me to stay away since I am already satisfied with my current setup of earplugs and glass+acrylic eyes.

For my resin dolls Silicone all the way. I absolutely love silicone eyes. Almost all of my dolls have Soom Silicone eyes or glass. Acrylic if they're really pretty like the safrin doll ones or the enchanted doll ones.

For my DDs Acrylic is pretty much the only way that I have been able to go. I have some Twin Snow eyes in my girls and am a huge fan of the Volks Animtetic style as well. I don't like the super shiny foil look in DDs though, I like reflective metallic eyes, but not the ones that look like there's tinfoil in the doll's eyes.

I really want to try resin ones though.

I have all three types but right now acrylics by Safrindoll, although they don't make anime style eyes as of yet.

For my Obitsus, I prefer glass. For my DDs, there aren't a lot of animetic choices. Except for SQLabs (only resin anime eye I know of), it is acrylic or nothing. I wish we had more animetic options.

Rise has enchanted doll urethane eyes in since she has a realistic look going for her and I absolutely love them @_@ I find that they capture light a lot better alongside glowing and shimmering compared to glass.

My 01 head uses Twin Snow acrylics since there doesn't seem to be too many choices

I've never used silicone eyes so I cannot speak on behalf on them, but most to least favorite:

Urethane, glass, acrylic.

I like acrylic eyes, but I'm really picky about them. I usually just buy custom ones. ^^;

Most of the eyes I've had are glass, but I think I'll stick with acrylics for DDs in most cases. They suit their overall style better to me.

I've had some silicone but I thought they were kinda meh. ^^; Plus they seemed to attract every stray hair and fuzzball in the room...and when you have an exceptionally fluffy cat like I do, that's a big problem!

I do want to try urethanes though, at least one pair. It would be nice if I could see them in person without having to buy any myself, but I have yet to meet anyone locally who uses them.
