Tbh I'm surprised to see that 24 hours later, both Candy Pop dresses are still available. Given how much interest there was for these dresses, I expected them to be sold out very quickly.

 

... I super wanted the blue one... but the exchange rate is so terrible, my "oh hey, I can buy this!" became "dammit!!! cannot afford" ;_;

I just placed my order! I was surprise to see all the items I wanted are in stock even though I'm late I feel like tomorrow I will receive a message from Volks telling me the items are sold out because this is too good to be true I got the candy pop mini dress and the beautiful MSD shoes advertised with the dress.

 

I also saw that all the DD hands in normal and semi-white skin colors are in stock! so I ordered the ones I didn't have because they were always out of stock... I think I now have all the hands in both skin colors. =D

 

This was a shopping success!

So... has anyone got their stuff shipped?

Not yet; I'm not counting on shipping notice till Friday. And I got other things on my plate keeping me from worrying whether or not Volks has their crap together right now.

I snagged a DDH-10

She's got super chubby cheeks, reminds me mainly of Prisma Illya. For eyes I think narrow 22mm work best so far, the round ones don't leave any white space.

Also I noticed that this particular head isn't perfect match for NS vinyl, it's noticeably red. First time I've encountered that with a DD head.

 

 

 

Her cheeks are so round and cute! This head's proportions are really perfect. That's odd about the vinyl not matching though. Hopefully it'll mellow out in time?

I got her through Mandarake, the dresses I ordered from Volks haven't shipped yet. I did notice a shipping delay note last time I logged into the site, I guess they're still catching up.

 

And I'm not too worried about the color difference, once she's got a faceup it shouldn't be too noticeable.

Ooooh, okay. It's kind of a relief to know that I'm not the only one still twiddling her thumbs waiting for a tracking number. I kind of suspect that they gave Rin and Len shipping priority.

 

And I agree, with a faceup and a wig, it's not gonna mater much. You probably won't even need to do that much blushing I think. Can't wait to see what you do with her!

Well I didn't even get an order confirmation yet after 8 days. And it upsets me so. I really should've known how TERRIBLY slow Volks is dealing with orders. I'm really not the patient type... I would really want to avoid buying anything from them if it's not necessarily.

I already received my order today. It was imported only yesterday but went through all instances like a lightning.

Last my order was seen was leaving Osaka on a plane, according to tracking. That was late afternoon yesterday my time, so it should be hitting LA soon.

 

. . . unfortunately I"m leaving town tonight. >.< The delivery dude had BETTER pay attention to the sticker on my door to take it to the apartment office instead of leaving it on the porch. T-T

My dresses arrived last night! My friend had picked them up from Dolpa and was going to bring them when she visited me along with Rin, but forgot them so sent them in the post. Which is fine by me because that gave me a whole week of enjoying Rin in her default clothes + the dress I already bought her, as I knew once I put the candypop dress on her I wouldnt want to take it off.

 

I wasnt just eager to see the dress on Rin, but also just to see it on a DD because none of the display models wearing it were DDs (I did get to see an MDD wearing the mini one at a meet though.)

It's really, really, really cute. Every time I look at it I see new details! Its not clear in the web photos, but it does come with a decently stiff panier attached underneath. Even so, I put my own panier on under it to increase the puffiness. (my 'panier' is actually just the fluffy skirt from the other dress I bought her)

However theres a few points about it I just wanted to bring to peoples attention just in case.

That's the hairclip from the mini set. (I bought the mini set too because it would be perfect for the character I want Kid Delf Corni for, even though I dont have her yet and wont for some time, I figured it'd be best to buy limited items in advance if they're perfect)

This dress does require some boobage lol. Since Rin is flat, the gappage is sadly very noticeable. And this is after I adjusted the back:

This isnt actually how its meant to be done up at the back. The top straps are meant to attach to eachother and the bottom parts to eachother, but my making the top straps attach to the bottom parts, it tightens the chest area a lot.

You wont have to worry about that if your DD actually has boobs but if you've got a smaller chested DD this can help it to fit better. ...athough if you can sew worth half a damn you could probably just adjust it yourself...

This way of adjusting it does make it look kind of weird at the back BUT the sailor part hangs over it anyway so its not too bad.

The mini clip works well because the colour scheme just makes it look like part of the dress anyway. But obviously not everyone bought both so I'm sure theres other things you could use. It'd be a shame to pass on this dress just cos of boob size after all.

(Since the MSD one is all one piece, I dont think it has this problem though.)

One last thing. While I'm not 100% sure this dress is the culprit, it's likely, although it's surprising. I think it stained Rin's hand and arm, but I have no idea how. I only think this cos i only noticed these tiny stains after she was wearing the dress, and the stains look kind of purple (not so much in these photos but they do IRL). Im amased that such pale purple could stain, but I'm also surprised its just these tiny pinprick sized stains. Hopefully I can get it off, but to be safe I'm currently not posing her with her arms touching her sides just in case.

Please post pics of your girls when your packages arrive! I really want to see how it looks on a DD with some boobage, however minor (seeing as Rin has basically none) Would also be curious about whether anyone else had a staining issue cos I'm still not 100% sure it was the dress. Also would love to see the mini dresses on your MDDs.

Rin looks so cute in that outfit!! Thanks for pointing out the flaws it has. It's good to know for when my dress arrives.

Should have added that the top part seems pretty adjustable (theres two 'sizes' it can be depending on where you put attach the hooks, and three if you count the method I used) so large busts would probably fit just fine. I'm curious if it would fit a DDdy now.

Good gracious Torino, I'm so jealous right now. She looks so lovely in the dress. It's quite unfortunate the dress require more boobies. To think that my Shizuka is an S bust DD... :/ I hope it wouldn't look too loose on her. Otherwise I might need to get some breast implant on her.

 

Though finger crossed I'll be getting anything right now. It's been 10 days I haven't get my order confirmation yet. Perhaps they're all sold out? I stand by what I said, I wish they could've been faster, instead of holding my money for over a week not confirming my order. I'm not even asking for a shipping notice, that'd be too much to ask. Just give me the damn confirmation.
