Atlanta BJD meetup Nov 19th & 20th UPDATED

As of right now, I am still booked for 2 nights of hotel in Atlanta. Since the event itself was canceled, the hotel reverted to the standard rate of $129/night + taxes (originally $109 for the event rate). We should get a headcount of who's going to be there and when so we can plan activities for both days. ^^

There's still plenty of time to cancel that room reservation made at the convention rate. I just rebooked my room at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia through trivago/booking.com and got the same room type I had before for $93 a night.

Thanks for pointing that out! I just rebooked my room through another site and got a lower total rate.

I'd like to start by finding out who all is going to run their panel (anyone beside Asianed and Billy?) and when they want to run them. If they are going to be gracious enough to run their panels, I thought we could work around them. Then we can "fill in the blanks" from there, either before hand or on the fly.

Becca and I are rooming with Ed so both of us are able to do our panels if people want to see them. We won't be bringing the hoard of dolls tho since room will be super limited but we still plan to bring a few. I have a Windows 10 stick computer I'm using to plug into the room TV to do our panels so if anyone wants to use that, bring your stuff on a USB dongle or a mini memory card to plug into the stick computer.

My panel was about photography, we can always turn it into a photo workshop weekend!

Do you folks have a preference of when you'd like to run your panels?

It sounds like most people are going to be there Saturday. Early? Midday? Later? Sun up to sun down?

I was thinking we do panels starting around 10am so people not staying at the con hotel have a chance to wake up, eat and come over. So we do a panel or two, break for lunch then come back for the rest and afterwards we could do supper.

 

Of course I'd thought doing panels on Saturday would be the best idea since a few people coming into town said they'd only be there for that one day. I didn't want to leave anyone out by doing the panels on Sunday. That and I'll be heading home Sunday around 1-2pm so I'd like everything done before then.

 

Anyone have any input on that?

I wasn't planning to bring along nearly as many as we did last year since we won't have the room we did at the panel. But I still planned to bring along a few different types of non Volks girls like examples of Azones/Pure Neemos as well as Obitsu/Parabox bodies and heads. And of course, I'll have Manami along as my ambassador for Peach Pai. I'll also have Katerina with her M+ Peach Pai so people can see they make them in more realistic sizes.

 

I'll also bring all my Smartdolls as well as a stick computer setup that will work with ANY doll.

We will probably be getting into town around the same time. I figured we might be able to do a supper meet type thing with anyone who is already in town if people want to. Otherwise we'll just meet up at the con hotel and go to K-2's room to do panels. After we do those we can break for lunch and then either finish any panels that weren't done before or go out into town for some photo ops.

 

Oh, here's who I plan on bringing. If anyone wants to see one of my girls that's not listed below, let me know and I'll see about bringing them along.
