Why Volks sell out of stock item?

I saw a couple days ago on Facebook that Volks was going to sell Saber's gym set and swimsuit set starting July 1st. I wanted the swimsuit for my Yaya. So learning from the Miku release in May, I got up just before midnight and got online. It was still early, so I checked some email. When I saw it was 12:00, I reloaded the website and the "you can't order until July 1st was gone, but it was still out of stock. Did they really sell out in 20 seconds? Or did Volks like totally forget to update the page with what they had in stock? I'm not happy.

They probably didn't have very many, and did indeed sell out in 20 seconds.

Well, I just refreshed the page before I headed out of town, and they had it in stock, so I was able to place an order. So it does seem like they forgot to update it until someone came into work in the morning, or they really meant can't order until business hours on the 1st. Either way, Yaya will have a nice black swimsuit for next summer.

They pretty much always mean business hours unless it's otherwise stated, since someone has to be there to initiate the sale.

 

Also, if you mean Alter's swimsuit it's actually dark grey not black. It looks distinctly lighter than her figures.

Jezrah is probably right. Based on my experience with them, VolksUSA probably doesn't have a sophisticated enough system to automate items going live at midnight (they seem to be running a bare bones shopping cart system, which is why tends to be so crashy). They're probably manually activating the sale when they get into the office.

Just to help you see the color, here's a few shots of my Saber Extra wearing that swimsuit. This is out on the beach in full sunlight.

It's got black accents on it but overall it's a gray color. And we had that on her all day and it never left any stains. I don't know if it was on her for a longer period if it would leave any marks but I think it might be pretty safe.

Ha ha, I got it at a Goodwill store but it's actually made for teddy bears. There's no label showing who made it but I bet you could get a similar one from the Build A Bear stores.
