SmartDollfie Posted July 5, 2016 Hello loves, I have to start out by saying (well I don't have to but I want to). I have always seen the MDD's as child sized 1/3 dolls. Rather than a 1/4 scale adult doll, simply due tot he scale of everything on them. Despite the rather generous chest options. I have a 09 head just sitting around, waiting to have something done with it. As it was meant to be my original girls head, though I realized how hard it was to come by and got a 07 instead. But now I have the 09 ... Well it looks very juvenile, very baby faced. Perfect for a kid sister or brother. My questions are : 1 - Is the smallest bust noticeable as breasts under clothing? 2 - Is there enough vinyl on the chest plate that I could sand and reshape it to be flatter? 3 - What are the bodies like in terms of usability? By this I mean, are they loose feeling, like adult DD's can be? 3b - Does the chest plate move around too much, or feel overly bulky at the waist? 4 - Do you find the Cool-Cat re-enforcement's to be as good for MDD's as for adult DD's? Cheers, SD
baldylox Posted July 7, 2016 Hello loves, I have to start out by saying (well I don't have to but I want to). Hello! I agree with you on the MDD looking like a child or young person. I think that's what Volks intended with them in the first place since most of their released characters have been young girls. I think the 09 head would work well on the MDD body too. Now for your questions! 1 - Is the smallest bust noticeable as breasts under clothing? The S-bust that almost all MDD bodies come with is pretty flat but does have some shape to the breast area. But I think it's pretty dang flat overall. 2 - Is there enough vinyl on the chest plate that I could sand and reshape it to be flatter? Possibly but I wouldn't go too far or you risk sanding a hole in the bust by going thru the thin vinyl. 3 - What are the bodies like in terms of usability? By this I mean, are they loose feeling, like adult DD's can be? That all depends on if you have the original MDD body, a modified/repaired original MDD body or the new MDD3 body. The originals are ALL well known for how floppy they get as well as how brittle and prone to breakage around the waist, wrists and elbows they can be. Now all of that *is* repairable and can make the body pretty stable and easy to use. But doing those repairs take time, patience and lots of know how with small tools and materials. A well repaired one can be very nice but just know that the issues can occur again, even after repairing them. I know this because I've repaired quite a few of them and some have broken again even after being careful with them. The new MDD3 bodies are a HUGE step forward in design and sturdiness tho. They've addressed almost all the issues of the older bodies and can pose really well without stands. I have 2 MDD3 bodies and both are so much nicer than the older ones... if you can get one of those then you're good to go. 3b - Does the chest plate move around too much, or feel overly bulky at the waist? I'm not sure what you mean by movement but all mine seem stable and don't wiggle around on their own. And they don't feel bulky to me, they are pretty small and slim for their size. 4 - Do you find the Cool-Cat re-enforcement's to be as good for MDD's as for adult DD's? I only have the Cool Cat replacement neck pieces on two of my MDD bodies so I can't say anything about the other supports they make. But the neck pieces are very nice and give you more movement and posability in the head and neck areas. I do own full sized DD reinforcement parts and I love those. If the MDD sized ones are made like the DD ones then I'd say they are well worth buying. Hope that helps you out a bit! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. lightly Posted September 18, 2016 1 - Is the smallest bust noticeable as breasts under clothing? Tragically, this is indeed the case. I've resorted to binding the chest so it falls in a flatter/more natural way since I need it to be firstly a kid and secondly - sometimes - a boy. (At least until Volks releases a boy MDD body. ;_____; )
Ie-Aster Posted September 19, 2016 I've resorted to binding the chest so it falls in a flatter/more natural way since I need it to be firstly a kid and secondly - sometimes - a boy. (At least until Volks releases a boy MDD body. ;_____; ) :/ that's both unfortunate and weird that it's so, especially because a lot of MDDs including character ones are supposed to be children (case in point: the young Candy and young Mirai that Volks did as MDDs a while back) Does the binding manage to flatten the chest--is the vinyl soft enough to be deformed in such a way? At home: Mei (DDP Lucy custom), Aku (DDB Takane custom) En route: L. (DD Matoi)
lightly Posted September 19, 2016 I know, I grumble darkly about why such kiddy characters have budding breasts. I mean, I know puberty starts earlier these days(??) but... Oh I don't flatten them via pressure per se, just wrap around the top and slightly over the body stocking so as to make the fall of the clothing look like it's over a more male chest? Rather than - body stocking and the awkwardness that is a visible line/shelf around the chest area when it's a kid.
