*new body* Dollfie Dream Pretty

Actually a Google search led me to a post on this forum by Jadepixel

 

I'm out of the loop on Azone but I just saw they've made an updated version of the 50cm body last year, called 'AZO2'. I prefer the proportions a lot more than the original 50cm! It looks very similar to DD, just shorter.

The Azone 50 does seem much more buxom than the DDP, but the old body's a decent match (not as slender still). Edit: lack of slender-ness is probably fine actually.

I'm grounded! That is definitely gonna be Sakura Kinomoto! It's only logical that way thinking all the anniversary they're having this year. I've been disagreeing about Sakura being an MDD because MDD to me looks more of 6-9, while DDS looks 14-17 (which would be good for Sakura thinking that she's currently in middle school). But DDP would be PERFECT for former Sakura and the Sakura now. Volks has been missing the 10-13 age category I'm glad they invented this thinking the possibility of Madoka Magika girls, Yoshino, Shinobu, Shiro and more.

 

It would fit the TRC version of Sakura too. It almost certainly opens up options for PMM Dollfie as well. God help us in the aftermarket for those...

 

For my own maniacal designs I can now make a custom Hotaru Tomoe from Sailor Moon.

 

If it is compatible with Azone 50 it should spur the creation of a lot of new outfits for both.

Oh man I'm really excited for this!! I'm also having that problem where I want an in-between size, but because the MDD body reads more to me as a child, it'll be nice to have that. I know there are obitsu bodies but I just don't like the knee caps. I just can't cope!

That's exactly what I thought after seeing this new body I'd love to have my own Sailor Saturn, but was thinking a DDS would be to big for her. Actually I think DDS is best for Sailor Moon, as the shortest in the crew. And an MDD is for ChibiUsa, so Hotaru definitelly needed something in between.

Im sure the frame will be a nightmare at first, unfortunately that's nothing new for them though.

I'm in agreement with everyone. I've been dying for a more mature looking but smallish body. I love the DDS size, and prefer it over the DD3, however I really want my yuri couple to be different heights and DDS/MDD doesn't really work since MDDs read as children for sure!I'm insanely excited this is coming out and providing us with more options yusssss.

 

Also agreed, does anyone know the measurements yet? I'm dying to see what she looks like next to DDS. How about any sort of idea when they will announce a release date? God I'm so impatient.

Woo-hoo! It's great that we'll finally have a body whose size is between MDD & DDS. While I love DDS it definitely disappointed when it came to the height since it's only slightly shorter than a DD. I have my Custom Akane from Ranma 1/2 and always planned in the future to have a Custom Girl Ranma. This new body will be perfect for Girl Ranma Really looking forward to more information & pictures

 

The only thing I don't like about the frame that I can see from the current picture are the pegs for the hands. They look like the pegs on the MDD body which I don't really care for. Personally I've always found it harder to put hands on and take them off on the MDD hand pegs than I do on the DD hand pegs. But it won't bother me too much if that ends up being in the final frame design~

 

I'd definitely purchase Azone 50cm clothes for this body if they fit well since there are so many cute outfits

Interesting, looks like from foo's comparison shot that DDP is using DD hands, with the new type wrist joint. I'm guessing the DDP is about shoulder height vs DD (including her head). I can't tell if her feet are DD or MDD size, but probably DD size to match the hands and share shoes. Volks blog mentioned when big hands were released that the larger hand size was more proportional, so I guess that's why they didn't sculpt new mid-size hands. MDD hands are cute but too chubby for this figure.

I just realized something else! This body will be PERFECT for my SQ Lab hybrids! I always felt their heads are a bit too small for DD (just my own personal taste >w<). Since the default SQ Lab body is much more petite and stands at only 53cm, DDP seems like it will be about perfect.

 

Personally I like "big" hands. I always felt that the hands of a lot of dolls were too small. A human hand is about the size of a human face, but many of my dolls have much smaller hands. So I felt some mismatch taking pics with hands-near-face poses in the past.

Those pictures were taken at Wonder Fest in Tokyo this weekend. I know because I was there and saw this exact display! They actually had a case with DDS Rin & Len right beside the Dollfie Dream Pretty. It looked to me like the Dollfie Dream Pretty body was a bit smaller than Rin & Len.

 

If it helps here's a photo of Rin * Len I took; maybe someone can do a side-by-side comparison since the cases the Dollfie Dreams were in were the same size...

Oh, I hadn't even thought about it, but it's true! I've always avoided SQ Lab heads for the same reason -- they just seem too small on a regular DD body, but they might be perfect on a DDP!

This is the countdown for the new pre-order project, which we all suspect is going to be on the DDP body, but we have zero confirmation at this point.

 

The pre-order project is what's going to be limited, which is true of all of the pre-orders: they're limited by time (order between X and Z), quantity, or some other factor.

 

I don't think we have enough information to conjecture as to whether or not the DDP body itself will be limited (or if it will even be sold separately in the near future).

Well right now the newest things are the boy type body and the DDp body. They made a count down site just for a pre-order so I'm guessing it's something worth a bit more.

I'm so excited about this new body! I hope it won't take too long until they make a standard release of it, I want a collection of short girls lol. xD The skeleton looks very intriguing, I'm super curious about its poseability! *u* ❤️

 

Now I just hope we'll see the DDP body for the pre-order doll and that the character would be Kinomoto Sakura. I would love that so, so, so much! ;u; ❤️ But I'm trying not to get my hopes up so that I won't be too disappointed if the pre-order ends up being something else...
