I don't recall them 'half doing' a new doll release. With the large ver. hands release it more points towards them aiming for more realistic proportions. So I'd assume that the DD hands could be more appropriately sized for the DDP. Volks is not in the business of 'good enough.'

Yeah that is kind of my feeling about them as well. I know they aren't perfect, but they put a lot of effort into these releases.

I want to say.. the more I see DDP, the more I'm sure that I definitely want one! As much as I like Yayoi and Iori, I knew that their head sculpts wouldn't work for my plans so I didn't preorder either of them. I hope the wait for DDP bodies to be sold by itself isn't too long. I'd really love to have a DDH-11 DDP.. though it would be extremely hard to get. ^^""

 

Now that we have DDP girls in this forum, I'm looking forward to even more owner pics, especially with different heads and outfits! For anyone else who was interested in body comparisons I found several DDP/DDS/MDD/Obitsu ones in twitter and posted them in Yayoi and Iori's thread here. Continuing from that here since this isn't necessarily Yayoi/Iori related..

Imo, her head does look pretty big on a DDP, but it can also kinda work? It would have been great if she was a DDP from the beginning..

Huh, confirmed. The sculpt is so similar I thought it was the same, but at the same time it seemed strangely perfect,

 

 

Also, the hand frames now click into place (you can see the ring on the rod), and they have the new rotating wrist joints but they're more stiff than the DD ones, so they should be able to hold more weight (the DD ones just spin freely).

 

That photo was taken right next to an open window, it's still really dark & rainy here (ｰｰ') Here's a quick comparison photo I took last night. I was hoping to take a better one during the day but the lighting's not much better,

 

 

It's not good as a height comparison because Iori's got the tallest heels on her shoes and her stand is thicker, but one thing that you'll notice is that DDPs have fairly long legs (which looks good IMO). I think that's the primary reason when MDD clothes won't fit DDP. Also, if you have an MSD stand and a DD stand, you may be able to put the two of them together to work for DDP. Iori can sit on a DD u-type stand, but the U-clamp is way too big for her. If it was an MSD clamp instead it'd probably be fine.

Awesome, thanks. I did see a recent photo with idol heart hands too, so maybe we will see some DDP option hands in the near future. I’m going to check Anya for those wrist changes too. Don’t expect she’d have them, but you never know. Her bust shape looked different than The DDS looks to my memory, but I need to pull out an old DDS M and compare it to be sure.
