New and needing a lot of help!

I've been lurking on the forums for a while now trying to pick up what information I can to put together my own doll. It might be a bit optimistic but I'm going to try to put together of a character I play in a game.

 

I'm a bit nervous though, my idea is rather specific and I am not familiar with all the correct jargon, especially when it comes to buying clothes and shoes so I'll have many, many questions and hope you all will be very patient with me.

 

First! If I'm looking at ebay and other sites for clothing and shoes and I've noticed quite a few don't use the abbreviations like "DDS, MDD, DDdy" etc for their sizings but use instead 1/4, 1/3, 1/6. Can anyone explian to me how these match up?

 

The boot availability may factor into what size Dollfie I put together since this specific character would never take her shoes off. I adore the boots commonly shown with the Head Chef outfit, actually I adore the whole look but I hear it is nearly impossible to buy these days.

 

Does anyone have suggestions for brown boots?

Sizing is roughly as follows

 

DD/ DDS is 1/3

Mdd is 1/4

DDdy is SD16

 

*1/6 size is for yo-sd dolls/ dolls around 26cm sizes

 

Within those sizes are so many variable sizes so while mdd can fit 1/4 clothes sometimes you may buy 1/4 clothes only to find they dont fit (either theyre for slim msd 1/4 or they just dont fit the mdd bodies but can fit other MSD sized dolls.

 

Your best option or if in doubt is to ask sellers if their clothes will fit your doll or ask for measurements and use it to measure your doll before buying.

 

 

Same with shoes!! SD shoes can be sized from 5.8cm through to 7 or 8cm!!

 

im pretty sure dd need /wear 6.2 /6.5 cm shoes, so always check or ask for the Inside shoe measurement if it isnt listed

 

As for where to buy, there are lots of places! Youll find them in the clothing and accessories thread but off the top of my head there is coolcat, nine9style, i think leekeworld has some?

How do I get a specific size for an dollfie outfit?

 

Example :

I really want this outfit. However it usually says "suits DD (M-L bust)" etc. If it only says "Suitable for DDS and DD" does that mean one size fits all boobs?

 

Volksusa store - Sailor Uniform Set (Black)

DD and DDS are essentially the same size, as far as clothing goes. Only very tight fitting stuff may pose an issue. Or pants, since the height difference is primarily in the legs.

 

M-L busted outfits will obviously fit on an SS/S bust, but will be baggy, which may look bad depending on the style of the clothes and the look you want on your girl. There's nothing preventing you putting larger clothes on smaller busted girls. Putting S-M stuff on L girls becomes an issue, where it simply won't fit, or it will be incredibly tight (or will be totally fine, in some cases).

Ah, I meant that this is the first outfit I've found that doesn't specify bust size. Is it safe to assume one size fits all?

The 'features' tab on volksusa store shows it fits all standard bust sizes, so yeah. Should be fine for any non-Dynamite or MDD girl

Yeah, VolksUSA is for the North American market only. You need to buy from the Japanese site (which has an English option) or simply browse some third party stores, or commission a custom outfit. That's what I do. ^^;
