Miku's 1st Night Home

This is a couple months old, but it's taken me that long to sit down and get my computer set up so I could work with my photos. This was Miku's first night home.

 

Me: There you go Miku, I got you out of the box and all dressed up.

Miku: Thank you, I did not like being in that box for the last couple years. I'm so glad I'm out and clothed. Can I call you Daddy?

Me: Of course you can. Now hold on while I go get my camera to take a couple photos of you.

Miku: Okay Daddy.

Me: [Leaves to get camera. Returns with camera a minute later.] Miku? Miku, where are you?

 

 

Me: Um, Miku, what are you doing?

Miku: ...

 

 

Miku: ... What are you, what did you do to them? Am I next?

Me: What? You mean those plushies? They come that way. They are huggable toys.

 

 

Miku: So you aren't going to do something to me to make me like that?

Me: No no sweetie, they are for us to play with together.

Miku: [sigh of relief.]

[Door bell rings.]

Me: Rats, now I need to go answer the door instead of taking your photo, I'll be right back Miku.

Miku: [Nods head.]

Me: [Goes to door for a couple minutes, and then returns.] Miku, are you ready for your photo shoot now?

 

 

Miku: Zzzzzzzz...

The Wife: [Comes in room.] Looks like Miku feels right at home for her to fall asleep like that. Good for you Dear.

Me: I guess I can't complain then, can I. Guess I'll let her sleep and take her photo a different day.

The Wife: Yes, there will be plenty of days to come for the two of you to spend time together. By the way, I have a feeling that you've lost a plushie.

Me: !?!

 

And she has hardly let that Cardcaptor Sakura go since.

tsk tsk, boots on the bed =P

D'aww, your Miku is such a sweetie! My Miku actually just pinched me With her elbow because I took off a slip she seems to like. I love her but owww.

It's a body suit used to protect the doll body from staining.

That and it was an easy way to get the number tattoo on her arm as the official Miku skin has the number already on it. Maybe some day I'll get brave and put the tattoo on her arm and dress her without the skin.

The tattoo is a decal that comes with the doll. She's suppose to have it, I'm just not any good at putting decals on, so I haven't done it yet.

Her default outfit is prone to staining.

I've had Dakota smack me in the head, more than once, when she felt the need. (Her right shoulder joint is super loose.) Even so, the times when she did it it seemed to pertain to the situation.

It's what 1st came to my mind after I got her. What can I say, she was from the 1st release of Miku, and spent that whole time in a box so she had no idea what would happen to her. That's a long time to be in the dark thinking up things.

 

I'm glad everyone seems to like my posing, I dislike it when they look so stiff, so I try my best before I share a photo. Speaking of which, I need to go through some more and post some more in the photo threads.

I totally agree with you about the posing. It can make such a huge difference between creepy/unnatural doll and lifelike. Even when I'm setting our kiddo's down between shots and whatnot, I really hate them looking like they are stiffly laying there so they are always getting repositioned. Another thing I do to avoid the 'creepy doll look' is to give them something or someone to look at rather than stiffly stairing forward. People don't do that in groups unless at the movies or something similar so I don't want to pose the Kiddo's like that without a darn good reason. Also over time their eyes get dusty (really adding to the 'glassy eye look') so I keep a cheap paintbrush around to dust them off when needed. This makes the biggest difference to Tama who is the only one of ours with glass eyes.

 

Yes, post more photos! I really like seeing so many different lives of the DD, where they have been and what they have been up to.
