Boredom: Needing a change

[Apologies ahead of time for the cell phone quality pictures, a camera is on the way very soon I promise!]

 

With some special new girls officially put on order, Ichiko has been rather impatient about waiting for them to arrive. I can't really blame her, as she's been around only my boys dolls since she arrived ( Poor Haru doesn't even have eyes to herself yet, but she should be getting her eyes any day now...)

 

I was a bit surprised to see Ichiko in the dining room today. The dining room table usually ends up being used like a desk for work matters, but it seemed that Ichiko had claimed it as her own space today.

 

 

LN: Hey Ichiko, what are you doing here?

 

Ichiko: I was trying to find something to do. Az gave me this book, but it's full of pictures of gross gore stuff.

 

LN: ^^' Well he is a Necromancer after all, I'm pretty sure the only books he has laying around are for his day job as a Mortician...

 

Ichiko: It doesn't matter, it's still gross!

 

LN: I can't argue with you there. How about you and I do something special then? What would you like to do?

 

Ichiko: Could.. could we possibly go shopping?

 

LN: What?

 

 

Ichiko: Would it be ok? I've seen on your computer pictures of other girls getting to go shopping or getting new things. I really want to try something new in my look, would it be ok?

 

LN: ^^' I can't say no when you look so cute asking... Ok, which website do you want to shop at?

 

Ichiko: We don't need a website.

 

LN: 0.0? Huh?

 

Ichiko: That's why I'm the luckiest girl ever. My house has a website store in it! ^^

 

*Ichiko gets up and leaves the room, I follow*

 

 

Ichiko: See? There's all kinds of clothes and shoes and everything here!

 

LN: 0A0 That's my stock for the shop Ichiko, we can't take things out of there or else what will I sell at the conventions and online to be able to buy everyone in the house new things?

 

 

Ichiko: But... would it be so bad if I took one thing? Just one?

 

LN: ^^' Well..... ok. Just one. How about a new hairstyle?

 

Ichiko: Oh yes, that sounds wonderful! ^^

 

LN: Ok, I'll get the drawer out for you so you can pick a couple to try on.

 

 

Ichiko: Oh thank you! ^^

 

LN: Ok, but you have to be really really careful with them alright? Pick out a couple to try on so I can put the drawer back.

 

** A few minutes later **

 

 

Ichiko: Alright, I picked out a few to try on. ^^ This is so exciting, getting to try something new, something different.. oh which one should I try on first?

 

LN: I really like you with the color you have now, but maybe something a bit longer??

 

 

Ichiko: What do you think?

 

LN: The style really suits your outfit, but I'm not sure if it suits you. It seems a bit childish, don't you think?

 

Ichiko: Yeah, maybe for a girl a little bit younger. ^^ Oh! I want to try the short one next. I saw Baldylox's Rei and her short hairstyle is so cute!

 

 

Ichiko: Do I look like Rei?

 

LN: Yeah, but I don't think short hair is good on you. ^^' It's cute, but just not quite you...

 

Ichiko: I know you like black, but I want to try a different color, something new and different. ^^

 

 

Ichiko: ^^ I like this wig, I feel like Alice in Wonderland.

 

LN: You really do look like her, especially in that dress.

 

Ichiko: You think so? *smile* Onwards to the Emerald City!

 

LN: o.O? Er.. Ichiko... That's the Wizard of Oz....

 

Ichiko: ^^' I knew that....

 

LN: One more wig, do you want to try it too?

 

Ichiko: Oh yes, just one more. ^^

 

 

Ichiko: What do you think?

 

LN: That one's cute on you. ^^

 

 

Ichiko: yeah.. I think I'll keep this one.

 

LN: Are you sure?

 

Ichiko: *nods* This one is much straighter than my old hairstyle, and it feels a bit lighter too.

 

LN: You know, it does match your eyes..

 

Ichiko: ^^ I love it, thank you so much.

 

I cleaned up all the wigs sitting out and left her alone for a few minutes. When I came back to check on her, she seemed much happier.

 

 

Ichiko: So.. er... is there any chance I could get a new outfit too?

 

LN: 0A0!

 

......I think maybe... I am spoiling her too much.. >_<'

Oh my! I had no idea your girl liked my Rei! That's quite flattering that she would try on a wig similar to Rei's! I actually like that short one on her a lot! She's really pretty in it and it shows more of her face.

 

But I think that her final choice was the best for her. It's a good color and it suits her face shape too.

Aww that was just adorable, Ichiko looked like she enjoyed herself immensely! It helps to have items already on hand, but Ichiko may start asking for some shoes & a new outfit to go with that new hairstyle of hers Love the wig by the way, very beautiful color on her!

Aw! That's awesome that she gets to try all that on. ^_^ I can envision her offering to model for the site once in a while too; I mean, the temptation is there.

 

By the way, does Ichiko know that Wizard of Oz actually was originally intended as a takeoff on Alice in Wonderland? Apparently Frank L. Baum liked the idea of a girl in another world but thought the sheer weirdness of Alice was off-putting, not just to himself but to the children he thought to be the topic's ideal audience, so took the bare bones of the premise and made a story he thought more palatable. (I haven't actually read the originals of either, so I can't say whether or not I agree.)

I don't think she was aware of that. I've been playing a lot of Alice: Madness Returns lately, so because of that the house has been in a bit of an "Alice" mood. ^^

Billy, the color is called "Coffee" (#M30 if you're familiar with the colors labeled for hair used in wigmaking and extensions.)

 

Here's a page for a similar styled wig with a picture of it in Coffee shown after the green. In real life, the wig color is fairly close to the picture on the Alice's Collections site ( just a tad lighter in color in person.) I consider it a "rosy-brown" color. ^^ I ordered it alongside a lot of other odd colors from my last Alice's order for stock to see how it differed from the #27 Brown. I'll see if I can get a picture of it under natural light tomorrow for you if you'd like. ^^

Her eyes should be coming in any day now though. I've been watching the mail for them, I promise! I am a good dollie owner! >.<' If the mail ate them... I'll be horribly sad..

 

Her eyes are the Anzu brown Type G from Volks and they do look nice with her new wig. I really like her in long wigs, because then when she wears kimono I can put her hair up in kanzashi. ^^ Ooh.. that gives me an idea for a future photoshoot....

Oh yes, a wig can make a lot fo difference! Even just changing eyes can change up any BJD completely! ^^

XD Apparently it's a book full of anatomy meant for mortician's use, rather than one of necromancy. Az says his necromancy book is red. However, I am curious as to why your girls would have such a book around, are they plotting something?

I agree. I like that it showed a lot of her face, but for some reason Ichiko just doesn't seem to be herself with short hair. ^^
