SisterKyoya Posted August 22, 2016 Tama: "Mommy, shouldn't I wear a hair net? Isn't that what you are supposed to do when you cook for people?" Mommy: *giggles* "Since we are at home I think you should be fine." Tama: "I'm gonna take my shirt off so it doesn't get dirty." Mommy: "Good idea." Tama: "Mommy are boys supposed to cook in their underwear?" Mommy: "You're wearing your swimtrunks so I wouldn't worry about it." Tama: "I know that but Daddy cooks in his underwear a lot. And Lucas said that boys are supposed to cook just wearing an apron..." Mommy: "Don't you ever cook in just an apron, especially around Lucas. Daddy can wear what he wants because he's Daddy. But little boys like Tama need to wear at least some shorts and not your underwear." Tama: "Okay Mommy." Mommy: *has a look on her face like she needs a long talk with Lucas* Tama: "Can we use this bowl? It's my favorite because it's so little." Mommy: "We might want to use the biggest one just to be sure." Mommy: "What do we need for the recipe?" Tama: *starts reading the card* "Brown rice flour, oat flour, psss... psh.. psssst... I can't say that word." Mommy: "Psyllium." Tama: "But there's a 'p' in there." Mommy: "It's silent, that's why its called sill-e-um." Tama: "Silly husk powder..." *giggles* Tama: "Now I mix all the dry stuff together right?" Mommy: "Right." Tama: "And then we mix in the fake eggs into the fake flour..." Mommy: "Flax eggs aren't fake they just come from seeds." Tama: "All of the wet stuff is in Mommy. Do you want to stir first?" Mommy: "Nope, you can if you would like. Just be careful not to splash." Tama: "Okay." Tama: "Ooof. This is getting really hard to stir." Mommy: "So what do we do next, Prince of chefs?" Tama: "Um... we kneed it." Mommy: "I don't need it, but I kinda want it..." Tama: "Mommy..." Mommy: *giggles* Tama: *strains and pushes on the stiff dough* "I think I'm getting a little sweaty..." Tama: "Mommy you do a lot better than me." Mommy: "You just need more practice, and probably a smaller recipe..." Tama: "My arms hurt. If I knead fake bread does that mean I get fake muscles too?" Mommy: "It doesn't really work that way." Tama: "Now it gets cut in half." Mommy: *mumbles* "It looks like a butt." *snickers* Tama: "Now the yummy cinnamon filling gets smeared on." Mommy: "Cinnamin-anim." Tama: "Cinnamin-anim-anim-anim." Mommy: "Cinnaminanimanimanimanimanim." Tama: *giggles at the weird sound* Tama: "Mommy why do we cut the cinnamon rolls with a string?" Mommy: "Because that's how Grammy Pammy taught me. Plus it just makes them easier to cut without mushing them with a knife so they stay pretty." Tama: "Mommy what is this. It doesn't taste like brown sugar..." Mommy: "It's the powder left after chopping up a whole bunch of walnuts. I got them from Grandma after she didn't know what to do with it." Tama: "Yay! they are in the pans! Uh oh... We forgot to turn on the oven." Mommy: "Oops!" Tama: "Mommy, these don't look right. Are you sure they are cooked? They didn't poof or anything." *stirs the icing* Mommy: "Yes they are cooked. Using different flours from wheat means it acts really differently. Maybe next time I will try my oat bread recipe so they will look a little more normal." Tama: "We have to put lots and lots of icing so it looks like it's covered in snow." Mommy: "Summer snow." *giggles* Tama: "Next time we need to add lots and lots of gingerbread spice. And more icing with extra vanilla." Mommy: "Sounds to me like you just want frosted gingerbread cookies. Christmas is still many months off." Tama: "But Daddy said they are getting Christmas lights and trees at the store!" Mommy: "Tama, you know the rule. No Christmas before Thanksgiving." Tama: "Not even a little?" Mommy: *briefly goes into another room before coming back, seeing a slightly less full pan* Tama: "Mommy these cinnamon rolls are kinda musty." Mommy: "Are they now?" *there is a doubtful sound in her voice* Tama: "Yah. I must have another." ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

SisterKyoya Posted August 22, 2016 I'm just afraid that he'd do it gladly for Tama's sake. If Lucas keeps it up Dakota's going to take notice, and she's surely a force to be reckoned with. It's going to happen sooner or later because Lucas has a pretty dirty mind. He has yet to realize however how truthful to a fault that Tama is, without trying. That's my little boy. Too bad, so sad for you Lucas! No matter what you try to do, you can't change my innocent little Prince. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
