This was my first look. It surprised me that she was looking at me. That rarely happens.

 

 

Not the best pics but I'm hoping the shadows will help show off the curve of her sculpt, and how her eye makeup looks because it can change a little by the direction you look at it. I love her smile! Perfect!

So far Volks is three for three in the SWS limited, at least the three I have. Takane, Kos-Mos, and Anastasia are all gorgeous.

 

For that matter their standard Mirai is great too.

These three im@s new molds are very beautiful. I love Anya's lips specially. Thanks for sharing your Anyas, nice cat Wolf, and Sister Kyoya she was indeed looking at you sweeet snowflake.

So in preparation for some photo's tomorrow I did some stain testing with a spare torso, and Anya's extra outfit. So far the blue top and the pants haven't stained it. While this is probably only valid for my climate her in the Bay Area CA, and certainly isn't a long term test; it should be safe to put her in it for a little while for photo's.

Her outfit is so beautiful, more than I'd imagined it would be. But I'm so daunted by the black lace on many of the edges I'm going to have to modify it by backing it with white lace before any of my girls will even put it on. It's a shame because the skirt is the perfect cut for Lillian.

Photos look very good so far.

I totally regret not ordering her. She has such a pretty face and I love her outfit. I'm just not fond of her look in the default wig, I think that's the reason why I thought I wouldn't like the doll in gereral.

I got lucky that I had another, but perfect, use for her wig...

Do you think Volks will do a Click War for her as they did with other pre order dolls?

Now he just needs the right shoes to go with that outfit. I kept hoping that this wig would work for him but I hadn't hoped it would work so well. This is only the 2nd wig Tama has had and I was concerned it would make him look too different. But not at all and it actually matches his eyebrows. Tama keeps calling this his 'Ouran' outfit. He says if he can ever go see Hunny Senpai at the Host Club he would wear this outfit. This was the original style of clothes he was supposed to have, and the wig just makes it more perfect.

No, I believe all the Cinderella Girls have the standard two piece torso. The only one I don't have is Ranko, so I can't say for certain with her. As far as I know the only unitorso's are the 765 Pro girls, and all of them except the new DDPs are unitorso. They all have mid-riff revealing outfits that show skin starting from right below the breasts, so Volks made the one piece for their 765 Pro iM@S project.

She's not going to vanish off the market anytime soon, and they haven't even shipped the batch two dolls yet. You can always wait a month or so to see if Nier ends up being one of the December Dolpa dolls.

It'll be less than a month if they are - Volks News will be out mid november which I'm guessing will be November 13th at the latest (its always a monday after all). And they usually tease stuff before the actual magazine is out, so we could know as early as friday the 10th (or even friday the 3rd if its a week earlier - the september issue ended up being a week earlier than i expected) Won't be too much longer that they announce the date it gets sent out, anyway.

iM@S releases can vary a lot in how pricey they get. I got Mio Honda at retail price, and there were a bunch at that price at the time. You can still get her for ¥68,000 now. Volks even had so many people flake they did a second drawing for her. Uzuki wasn't much more expensive, and I think mine was ¥80,000. There are Takane's on YJA for ¥25k less than she was averaging on YJA at release time.

 

I think I paid around $750 for Makoto on ebay with her Wild Strawberry set thrown in, and she has gone up since then. Chihaya wasn't much more expensive, but without the extra outfit thrown in. She has also gone up. She's a great character in the TV series too, and a beautiful sculpt. Both of them seem to be getting rarer, which is probably why the price is higher.

 

Miki is the really expensive one. She's usually around ¥200,000 or higher.

 

These are pre-orders, so I'd expect the price won't get too bad for a long time, but I am also surprised I don't see more Anya's listed right now.

 

I don't even see any Iori's listed right now. Yayoi is around ¥70,000.

dunno if this is the right thread to write this but its pretty simple. There are 5 Volks Newses a year. As far as I know these dates are consistent.

 

Mid Feb: info on March Dolpa's (Kyoto) spring dolls

Early April: info on May Dolpa (Tokyo) early summer dolls

Mid June: info on August Dolpa (varies) late summer dolls

Mid September: info on preorder project

Mid November: info on December Dolpa (Tokyo)

Release is always on a Monday.

 

Note that not all Dolpas have DDs (for example March Dolpa this year only had SDs, but did have DDs the previous year)meaning an upcoming volks news doesnt necessarily mean a new DD coming.

Upcoming dolls are generally teased on twitter before the magazine is out, usually just with one photo or so (so you have to wait for the magazine to see more detailed photos/full body pics/more info on the release) - typically on the friday before?

As for how dolls gets announced it usually depends on the license-holder, ie they tend to announce idolm@ster dolls at idolm@ster events, vocaloid dolls at magical mirai, some get announced at wonderfest, some get randomly announced throughout the year and some appear out of nowhere in the magazine itself (or shortly before) without even being announced in advance. As far as I know (and I could be wrong, i'm just going by what I've gathered from the year and a bit I've spent in the hobby), dolls that have previously been announced arent just randomly shown out of nowhere, only in the leadup to a Volks News release. This might have happened in the past though.

Batch 2s started shipping almost a month ago.

Sigh, I guess the Volks USA orders must be batch 3 or 4. They already got items that came out after she started shipping, like the Miku 2020 outfits and Volks News 76, but they still haven't gotten Anastasia to ship out. I was hoping I could give her to my wife for Christmas.
