It'a not just you, I thought exactly the same thing right when I saw the picture. Her mold is more similar to Ranka's than Len's to Miku's in my opinion.

Well this can't be it, the pre-order project..? Does anyone have the link to the official countdown page (alright found it nvm) I thought it should be tomorrow, Japan time. Well if I counted right.. Well if it is, I'm kinda disappointed it's not Sakura as we all hyped. The thing with Idolm@ster is that I don't watch this series and I'm not quite familiar with the characters. Oh well I'm not gonna spoil someone's parade. I do think Yayoi's cute.

 

If this is not the pre-order project, don't you think Volks have a LOT on their plate this year alone? I mean they produced two new base bodies!

Of course I doubt these are pre-order since seems No other doll shown in leaked volks news 70 so even if announced tomorrow i guess the pre-order will be shown more on Volks news 71

Like I said in the other thread, it does say they're preorder. It uses the exact same phrasing as the countdown page, 2016年DD受注限定企画 - 2016 DD preorder project. Unless I'm missing it (which is possible with the giant glare on the page), I dont see 抽選 (lottery) anywhere. It says 'preorder period from october 8th to december 4th'.

Volks said on twitter that Ana would -also- be preorder, so that's 3 preorder dolls.

Volks also teased beforehand that volks news 70 would have info on the preorder project...

 

and again like I said, there's still the chance of the countdown preorder being unrelated, which would mean there are FOUR preorder dolls, which would be unusual I believe but more unusual to me would be making such a gigantic deal about a new doll and having it be something as ordinary as idolM@ster. (I'm not dissing the series or the characters, I'm just confused. IM DDs is nothing new and this amount of fanfare you'd think would be reserved for something brand new and exciting) . After all, if Iori and Yayoi's preorder doesnt start till october 8th, what would the countdown even be for? No point in making a countdown to reveal them if they were getting revealed the day before by Volks on their official twitter account.If the countdown IS a 4th preorder doll. I'm surprised its not the Volks News 70 cover though - unless they didnt include it anywhere in this volks news to make sure it wouldnt be leaked before the countdown was over?? (then why not just...release volks news the day AFTER the countdown instead of the same day....theres so many things about this that are weird to me)

 

(also surprised at the difference between countdowns people are having. I'm in Japan and it says 14 hours. I guess the timer is automatically set to reveal at 12pm on September 12th regardless of timezone, which is kinda weird, because its meant that people in the US have been seeing it a day slower all this time )

 

edit: how the heck are people getting Volks news scans anyway?? It's not meant to be out till tomorrow >:C (i'm only salty bout this cos I wanted it to be a surprise, as I should be getting it in the mail tomorrow too lol. but that's my own fault for looking on twitter and here )

Im curious now to see if there is a 4th pre order doll..... it would have to be idol master as theres usually a theme/same series going on for p.o dolls right?

 

I dont know idolmaster so would it be a boy/guy or maybe a tan character?

I don't care who it is as long as it's a boy. For a split second or two I did wonder what Iori would look like as a boy. That is until Ringo slapped me upside the head. Please don't tell me she's trying to collect fairy tale friends now. "But Mama, wouldn't she make an adorable Snow White?"

You're making me nervous with this statement. I hope you're right about the 4th doll. But then, wouldn't it be too much? That they'd literally release 4 dolls at once for pre-order even? I also can't brain why Volks would want to release these 3 as a preorder and not Rin and Len? Clearly those two are far more recognized, popular and, 'iconic' in Japanese pop culture.

The ONLY reason I can think of as to why the 4th doll - if it exists - isnt the Volks 70 cover is so that it couldnt be leaked in advance. After all, Volks 70 is already leaked and its not supposed to be out til tomorrow.

 

And as for why they're preorder (even if they're not the countdown ones they're still preorder) and Rin/Len werent... I mean I certainly dont doubt that these girls are popular but so are all the other idolM@ster girls that were lottery only. I dont know what makes these ones all that special enough to be preorder besides their new bodies. But like I said...Volks gonna Volks.

Wait so Iorin and Yayoi(and Anya too???) are all preorder dolls? I'm a fan of im@s, so I'm really happy that they'll be released as DDs, but if we don't get any announcement tomorrow about any other preorders I'll be pretty disappointed that they were chosen to be preorders over Rin and Len. Is it because they are using the DDP body? I'm not that well-versed with Volks in general but past im@s releases were the first(or among the first) times that Volks featured new parts or entire bodies, right? I wonder if this is just a continuation of that--but even then, they could have just been lottery like the other girls..

 

Iori and Yayoi ARE pretty popular to some im@s Ps(especially among uh lolicons..), but not nearly enough to justify choosing them over Rin/Len! Vocaloid is way bigger globally than im@s so this just doesn't make sense. And of course with all the hype I was hoping that the preorders would be from another big series that is completely new ground for Volks. *shakes head*

 

Now if by any chance we get a Hibiki(tan skin!) or SideM(guys!) announcement tomorrow, then that would be AWESOME, but what are the chances? Three im@s girls at once are already a lot..

My personal bet so far is that Deko, Yayoi and Ana are the joint fes release DD models... the ordering period would fit this since the ending date is rather near Joint fes

 

you seem to be forgetting volks's new strategy with the event order releases so far. Rin and Len were a totally different thing as the normal after even routine had been. wasnt this a fairly new concept of japanese customers who put in the order slip within a set time actually got a doll without any lotto angst, that us international buyers still have to wait on?

 

The actual Pre-order project where everybody gets their doll is still a possible own concept that could be announced at any time, and yet still delivered a year away. If I recall wasnt a previous preorder model announced rather close to an event model before, so its not that new of a situation.

I finally realized who Iori reminds me of. She's a DD I've wanted to do for a while but never expected her to pop up so soon, especially after Bea was just finished this last week. AND she's on the size body I wanted but never had a clue if Volks was going to make them. Everything about her is near perfect for a Skipper I wanted to do. Iori's sculpt works even better than the one I was thinking about getting eventually. Now that just leaves Kenneth...

 

I may even be sorely tempted to see about shrinking down Gizella to the DDP size. I'll have to check on that though. More than once I've thought that she seemed a bit big for 13 years old on the DDS body. I've got some thinking to do...

Loving Iori. The DDP is definitely growing on me.

Iori is a pretty good mold BUT I have zero interest in the DDP or MDD size, and there's something about the proportions of her head that hint she might not look perfect on a DDS or DD body.

Was totally expecting Iori with the announcement of the DDp ^^ She definately one of the more popular girls left. Part of the reason I wanted them to release the DDp was so they could do Iori. Shame she doesn't come with her casual set but looks like we're gonna have to make it.

 

Can't wait to get her. Seems like they're going to make them all doesn't it? So maybe a tan Hibiki DDp and then there's the twins....

I agree, Yayoi looks like Ranka with her hair and eye colors swapped.

I'm pretty safe from these cuties, other than the fact that I might join a split to get Yayoi's eyes and wig!

If its idolmaster: No tan skin Hibiki=No care. Gimme that dark skin and ponytail please.

Look forward to seeing more pictures of Iori and Yayoi, both look very cute. I am a little taken back (like most) that idol master dolls are the preorder... At least they are cute haha.

These two are really adorable! I'm not sure if I'll get them though. I'm trying to think if there's any characters of mine they might look like.

hmm... this new body is kinda tempting. But if I 'downgrade' Her Grace unto an even younger base, she'd probly strangle me in my sleep
