DDP Iori Minase and Yayoi Takatsuki(and Volks news 70)

Ah, I love Yayoi's sculpt! I'm surprised they didn't go for the smile for her. Hopefully, if the cards are in my favor, I just might preorder her. I see her sculpt has the potential to be very versatile but I'm not sure if I want to keep her on the ddp body.But something tells me she might not look to hot on the DD3 that might sway my decision to get her. I'm excited though. Hooray for draining my wallet!

Looking at Yayoi with my Gizella (Ranka) it seems like the only difference is the eye shape, maybe.

 

The more I look at these two, the more in trouble I'm getting. There's no doubt I want Iori, but at first I disregarded Yayoi until I realized that Gizella could use her body. Then I realized Skipper would completely want the matching clothes. Unexpecteldy Ringo started harping about wanting Yayoi's hair (It the color of hair she was supposed to have and the style fits what she's currently doing). But her head sculpt was pretty meh compared to Gizella who I love to bits. I really don't like selling off stuff so I was trying to think if I got her what the heck would I do with her. As usual I wondered if she would be suitable for any of the boy characters I still have waiting, and she could work for Hidaki from Katawa Shoujo but the eyes would need some massive modding. So I shuffled through my mental list of who I'd like to do and I think she could work really well for Hatoko Kobayashi from Angelic Layer with a minor eye mod if it even needs it. My previous choice for her headsculpt was Nanoha but I doubt I'd ever get a hold of her, plus her eye shape is completely wrong compared to Yayoi. I already knew if I made her into a DD she would need to be aged up a little to 'grow' into an MDD body.

 

I really am very surprised that in one fell swoop Volks managed to do two girls that are more perfect for girls I've been wanting to do that work better than the limited sculpts I was afraid I was going to have to track down and eat the cost of. I haven't been this plesantly happy about new DD girls in a long time. Now if Skipper would quit freaking out abou those two outfit sets and how she could mix and match between the two as she's eyeing Ranka's & Sheryl's various outfit parts still sitting in the box... Oh my gosh, I'm so happy!

I thought the same thing. I really want those for Makoto and Chihaya, but of course they are going to be fit for DDP. I don't know if that outfit was worn by other IM@S characters in the games, but it if was then maybe we'll get lucky and they will offer the outfit in multiple sizes like they did with Star Piece.

 

If they do then my Anastasia pre-order will get a good deal more expensive. XD

Gah!!! You reminded me I could use a DDP to make Hotaru Tomoe (Sailor Saturn.) Neither head is right, but if either of the heads fits any future projects I have in mind I may be sunk....

Yep, those are the default outfits in the newest Idolm@ster game, so I think it's pretty likely they'll make them to got the other im@s girls. The only difference is whether the outfit uses a skirt or shorts.

I tend to think serious expressions make for a more interesting look than cheerful expressions, but the expression should indeed fit the character. Kos-Mos serious face is absolutely gorgeous, but Uzuki and Mio's cheerfulness is perfect for their faces too.

Only Ami, Minako, and Rei would top her in terms of scouts I want to turn into custom DD. A Hotaru project just may turn out to be timely at this point.

Since my DD Skipper is seeming like a complete reality I decided to figure out some of the clothes she would want to wear... and Fairy Kei seems to suit her perfectly. Someone's description of it was this: "I dream that it is 100% socially acceptable to dress like the 80s and a cupcake had a baby that got drunk off glitter and puked on me."

I can safely say that Volks will NEVER make a DD of the producer, given that he's barely even an actual character. He's literally a standin for the player.

What's more likely is the actual boy idols from IdolM@ster side M getting DDs. Not the most likely thing ever, but we'll get a DD of some generic eroge protagonist before a DD of Producer.

but we already got one boy idol DD so far after all (Len) so side M isn't too far fetched.

If you are thinking of Ritsuko Akizuki then I think she was the chief mecha mechanic in Xenoglosia. I don't recall all the names, but i am pretty sure that was her. She was either a main character or one of the most prominent supporting characters.

 

In Xenoglosia she may well have been a shout-out to Ri Kohran from Sakura Wars.

 

Xenoglosia pretty much was an homage to a variety of sci-fi anime like Agent Aika, Martian Successor Nadesico, Patlabor, and Sakura Wars. So much so that early in the show it came off like a cookie cutter sci-fi show made to capitalize on the Im@s cast.

 

I enjoyed it more once it became really clear they were using the Im@s girls to honor other iconic sci-fi series, and the borrowed elements weren't simply the product of lack of creativity. It had its own unique elements, but didn't find it's own voice until well into the series.

I've never watched Xenoglossia before, so I didn't know about that! I just remember being pretty disappointed at the time because the first im@s anime wasn't actually about them being idols(and because they didn't even have the same voices as in-game). xD Within the rest of the im@s world, Ritsuko is an office girl at the game's idol agency/765pro who eventually became an idol herself. Actually, she even became a producer of some of the other girls as well later on. She's serious, strict, hard-working.. pretty much what you could expect from a megane character.

 

Her cousin, Akizuki Ryo, is also an idol in SideM. I've been a fan of im@s songs and characters for a long time but I didn't really consider myself a P/producer and played the games until SideM. I just like working with guy idols more I guess lol so I would be over the moon if SideM DDs will happen! The guys there range widely in ages/body types/clothing styles so it could really interesting. I don't think it would happen for a while though.. The Million Live girls have more years on them and they haven't been doll-ified yet.

As for the dolls themselves, meeeeh. Not feeling it all that much on them. Mostly interested in the outfits.

If you like the IM@S girls I would say see it. Think of them more as actresses cast in dramatic roles. There are some visual design changes to the characters, but the parts they are cast in are perfect for their IM@S personalities. For fans of the IM@S DD outside of Japan it's not a bad way to experience the characters.

edit: how the heck are people getting Volks news scans anyway?? It's not meant to be out till tomorrow >:C (i'm only salty bout this cos I wanted it to be a surprise, as I should be getting it in the mail tomorrow too lol. but that's my own fault for looking on twitter and here )

@sinclair: Its only for VIPs and I -think- you can only be one in Japan. The staff in the store signed me up when I went there to buy some clothes and enter the lottery. I do know that non VIPs can buy the actual issues online, I know baldylox has gotten at least one too, but I'm not sure if you can actually subscribe in order to get them delivered free outside Japan. (Someone tell me if I'm wrong)

I'm curious if they send the subscription copies from Tokyo or from the closest store - if mine is coming from the Fu kuoka store it should be waiting for me when I get home from work. If not, probably not till tomorrow. Gonna try my best to not look at posted leaks of volks news from now on so I can see it first in the magazine itself

So it IS her! Raven has had me watch enough Im@as to at least know some of it. He's a huge fan but it isn't really my thing so much. I've watched it because of the Producer. I'd LOVE it if Volks ever did the boy group. Especially the tall blond boy. I'm trying to decide if my megane addiction is bad enough that I admit I recognized her because of the shape of her glasses.

 

 

As for the DDP girls... OMG! OMG! OMG! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thrilled doesn't even begin to describe how I feel right now. I'm so excited that I can't even focus. I'm just glad that no one saw me do a happy dance. I can't dance if my life depended on it. I'm just in total shock. I know I shouldn't be because it's not like we just found out, but I was afraid that some sort of glitch would pop up like it would be a short time between the preorder & the delivery time, the payment would be due upfront, or anything else that would make it not work like the previous year long preorders. It's just the timing has really thrown me off. So now finding out that they are possable, the reality is sinking in super fast. Plus Skipper!!! Never, ever, ever would I have imagined that she would be here just a year after Bea got done. I can't comprehend it!

 

I can't quit cackling over the tan bodies. I don't want one but it seems as if Danny really has given them a run for their money. What I really would like is a dark skinned 04 DDdy. If they ever have her I've got plans.

If Volks does make any of the im@s guys, I'll bet that either Jupiter(the boy group in the anime who predate ALL of the others by like 5 years) or Dramatic Stars(the "main" group in SideM as a whole) would be first. One of my absolute favorites in SideM wears megane. xD He's actually the oldest known idol in the entire series (at 32 lol).

 

 

 

Those tan girls ARE tempting. Their skin color is called Kasshoku/tan, though it does seem reaaally light. xD I wonder if it's the exact same tone as Kanu? If anything, I really want a tan DDH-09 head or two. How DO you acquire these girls anyway?

 

Oh no those tan girls have messed up my doll plans. I ordered azone mirei for her tan but now they have tan girls, too?! I don't know what to do and I don't think anyone would want to trade a tan dd for mirei if I end up not wanting her. Oh god, but this is really exciting .

I ended up not preordering Mirei because I wasn't 100% sure I wanted all of her. That may change once she's released though! Hopefully I can see her in person when I visit the Azone store in November.. I don't want to take the plunge on her when I already have a perfectly fine body that's just a touch too light. Azone natural/Volks tan might be perfect for one of my girls but she really needs to be on a short and curvy body above all and nothing Volks offers at the moment really fits the bill so I really hope Mirei doesn't disappoint!
