DDP Iori Minase and Yayoi Takatsuki(and Volks news 70)

Oh man! If the tan girls become a regular thing (even if they're limited to D'Coord) would completely change my doll plans. I've wanted a tan girl lately and I thought I'd settled on a tan Chitose, but I just wasn't in love with her enough to pursue it.

 

A tan 06 or 09 would just make my day!

If Volks does make any of the im@s guys, I'll bet that either Jupiter(the boy group in the anime who predate ALL of the others by like 5 years) or Dramatic Stars(the "main" group in SideM as a whole) would be first. One of my absolute favorites in SideM wears megane. xD He's actually the oldest known idol in the entire series (at 32 lol).

Full head of gray hair at 32? What does that make me, nearly dead? (I'll be 38 in October.) If Volks ever did him and a body similar to the SmDB I'd really have some plans for him. Problem is I don't know if Volks is capable of not having a chibi look to any of their dolls, DD or SD.

That's right. I can't help but to notice this as well with their models. It's like they've stretched the heads. They're so chubby most of the time. The only closest to normal anime head for me would be the more mature-looking characters, like Sheryl for example. Now that I think about it, in term of overall looks SmD models are closer to normal anime heads compared to DDs. We've got used to the aesthetic of DDs all these years, that we could flaw SmDs less chubby and more flat faces. I still think it'd be good if Volks could go between the aesthetic of DD and SmD if they were to create a DD sized male. Just something in the middle would be perfect. Because SmDB Eiji for me.. he appeared to be too.. skinny, flat and pointy.

 

Back on topic, Yayoi reminds me more of Momo than Ranka. I believe these two heads would be good for a male DDS. Need to start some photoshopping later.

But imo this looks less like tan skin and more like someone just darkened the colour layer of their 'normal' skin in photoshop to me. Kinda hoping for something a little darker than this, I personally think in that picture at least the colour looks odd?)

Then again, official Volks photos are weird. If it looks good in person I'd love the dd09 one.

I personally couldn't see how that should appear to be a tan skin. It's not really that much of a different than normal skin. It's just a shade darker. But I am still kinda excited over it (if it exists). Mainly because I want a more tanned male doll, if they'd ever release one for a standard DDSB.

 

But then It seemed to me like a low saturated photo. Isn't it weird they didn't mention anything about a new skin tone in the news?

They did mention it. It says tan skin in the banner part with the palm trees in the background, where theres a small pink speech bubble saying 'New!'

Haha, I just think of the grey as "anime hair." xD Besides him, there are also two teenagers in SideM with grey hair, and there's a healthy amount of blue hair within the entire im@s umbrella so I never minded it. That version of Hokuto was really recent--it just appeared in the game last month, actually. It's one of my favorite outfits for him myself. My personal fave is the pirate look lol

 

 

Back to Iori and Yayoi, I wonder if they'll also release previous im@s outfits to fit them? I really hope that Volks will make a DDP-sized Star Piece Memories(M@STERPIECE) and My Dear Vampire(Kyun! Vampire Girl) outfits. Some of their casual outfits would be nice too! ^^

Ahhh just as I thought these two are absolute cuties as shotas!

 

They'd look good on DDSB but I think they'd look even better on a boy version of DDP (if this even possible ). Total shota look on them! Personally I like Yayoi's look more, he's such a darling.

Between Iori & Yayoi I definitely think Iori is the cuter one for me. But my heart belongs with Anastasia so neither of these girls will be coming home to me. But that cocoa skin color calls to me! Not gonna lie if the pre-order had been any girl with the cocoa skin color I would have jumped for joy. Really do hope that it becomes a standard sooner rather than later, but knowing Volks it will probably be the latter Just glad to see it finally in existence! Can't wait to see more photos of this new skin tone.

 

As for the outfits I really like the Blue Maid Kimono Dress, but I was annoyed to see that to actually have it in maid style you need to purchase the apron & headband separately. They did that with the wedding dresses with the veil & gloves being separate so I wonder if this is just how it is now? Still really cute I also like the cute Cappuccino pillow and fur collar. Will I get any of it... probably not since I'll be saving up for Anastasia. But I may go for the smaller items when they arrive at Volks USA

 

I was also really amused when I saw the school desk. The new feature being a hook on the side to hang a school bag from. When I got mine I thought it was so weird that they didn't include that small detail in since you see it all the time. So when I saw the scans I totally thought of that episode of The Simpsons when Lisa decides Malibu Stacy is not a good role model for young girls and makes her own doll. But the toy company decides to fight back by upgrading Malibu Stacy... by giving her a new hat Weird I know, but that's totally what popped into my head Glad to see people will get a chance at it again since it seemed pretty popular the first time round.

Only D'Coord at the moment, so at the moment it's limited to Akihabara Doll Point. The first two will be the ones in the picture, a DD6 and a DD9. I'm interested to see if/when they do other head sculpts or if it will ever be a non-limited colour. Gotta admit I dont have high hopes for that, they seem to like keeping certain things exclusive to Doll Point.

The new tan girls are nice! Maybe I'll get one, if any show up on Manda for a decent price. I see a new outfit for Shibuya Rin, too. Might try to get that, since I've got the headsculpt on the way.

I'm over the moon to hear that Iori, Yayoi and Anastasia may be Pre-order dolls!! I was already set on saving up for Anya and getting her second hand at a later date, if they take as long as the Macross Frontier dolls to ship, it's enough time to get her directly from Volks, hopefully! >u<~

 

I love the new body and the extra outfits for these two as well, they're cute. Makes me happy to see the possibility of all the main Idolm@ster girls coming out as DDs. :') Also the My First Star outfits and that Cocoa color! I feel like this has been my favorite Volks News for DDs!

Since I"m not into the dolls at ALL, I went around looking at the rest of the scans, and found this:

 

More hand-holding-type-hands! I maaaaay have to pick up the DD+DD and MDD+DD ones. . .

 

Also, I noticed this time that the kimono/hakama sets have the aprons sold separately this time. That does admittedly make me more interested in them, since I've never really "gotten" the whole maid thing. Don't know if I feel inclied to actually spring for them though.

 

Unfortunately, I found the SD outfits--which usually where I find my main wallet-killers--pretty disappointing too.

 

(I'm not sure why I"m so disappointed, actually--you'd think with all the other crap I have going on, and my bounty from the last click war, that I'd be glad to be wallet-safe this go around. My brain is doing odd things to me lately.)

Oh is the ribbon girls set getting another release?! Yessss. Plus senbonzakura Rin and Len outfits!

If the ribbon girl set is getting a re-release, maybe there's hope for the Mikuzukin set? I like them both, but if I had to choose I'd definitely go for the Mikuzukin set. The Senbonzakura sets are 18000 yen each, so much to save up for T_T

 

I don't following clothing releases that closely, so I'm not sure when the clothing sets are available? It says Oct 8 for the Senbonzakura sets, will they be available online at that time or at a later date?

I really wish I could get Len's outfit but clickwars are just not my thing. Better than Lottery but not worth it to me to fight for because it's way too emotional. A loss is still a loss. SO no big surprise there that my expectation that I'll need to make all of the outfits for my Rin & Len still stands. At least I'll get the patterns out of them and the ability to customize them to my preference. Len's boots are adorable though. Even before I officially started to work on my Rin & Len, I know the project would doom me to at least attempt to make their many outfits.

Once I realized she was "forehead girl" from Xenoglosia I decided I'll pre-order her along with Anastasia. She's getting a different wig though. Her hair was black and had a different style in the anime.

I wasn't prepared at all for how much I would like this release . . . but when I saw the photo I knew immediately that Iori & Yayoi's sculpts are perfect for a couple of OCs! Especially since Yayoi is like a younger MOMO, the sculpt I originally planned to use for one of them. Though one of my characters is supposed to be a little taller, so I'd like to see how Iori's head looks on DDS first considering it's probably a smaller sculpt like the 01 head. (But I'm not super concerned, as it's possible to disguise smaller proportions. . . just rather not have to, you know?)

 

The biggest problem so far is that I love their designs too. . . almost makes me want to get two of each so I can have my OCs and the idols too. . .

 

Anyway they are both definitely added to the wishlist.

Thanks to this I can see the similarities between Yayoi and MOMO and now I want her I was so disappointed that it wasn't Sakura but now I'm looking forward to the preorder!

I really don't love the idol master defaults with the weird shiny pink material, it's too bad. I wonder how easy/hard it will be the have other clothes fit this new body a

 

I am pretty convinced in sold on both girls though, which is a first for me. I also really love Anastasias casual set... Thats a lot of money to throw at volks haha...
